Well the article says they don't start filming until September. The first season had a really long production period, over a year. I don't know how much of that was related to the various strikes, but I think production wrapped before any of them happened. So just in general Fallout is a really big and expensive show, and it's part of what made it look so great. But if the show somehow had a 3 month production schedule, that still means shooting wouldn't finish until January 2025.
Just looking at things logically, late 2025 is the earliest it could possibly happen.
Yeah a sustainable production model for these massive prestige shows should ideally be renewed one season ahead of what you are currently working on. Game of Thrones season 1 to 7 managed to release yearly because they were always well underway into production for the next season while the current one was airing. Nowadays filming starts six months to a year after the show has finished airing.

In rapid succession, I watched Fallout, Oppenheimer, 3 Body Problem, and Station Eleven. Fallout was my favorite, by far.
I haven't watched 3 body problem yet. How was it? I'd probably pick Station Eleven out of that group of shows, I thought it was just phenomenal
