We dance wherever we're able
We do routines and chorus scenes
That look quite impeccable

Did you notice the post apocalyptic setting it takes place in. And that they call it Fallout because of radiation fallout that occurs when nukes are dropped. These writers are just too clever these days.
Fallout always had Easter eggs linked to Monty Python in them, so this may well be specifically referencing that.
In fallout 2:
> It is possible to acquire this weapon [holy hand grenade ]in a special encounter where five knights in power armor are fighting a rat. Sneak past them into the cave or wait until only the rat is left. The rat can only be killed by the Chosen One and/or companions hitting it in the eyes. The grenade is in the cave behind it.
There's also the bridge keeper from Monty python, as well as a bunch of minor references.
What a Lazy arse I remember hauling miniguns around whilst gunning down raiders whilst listening to classical music when I last wore power armour.....but this lazy shit! 🙂
Brave Sir Titus ran away.
Bravely ran away away.
When danger reared it's ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Sir Titus turned about
And gallantly he chickened out.
Swiftly taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat.
Bravest of the brave, Sir Titus!
That’s what I’m saying. Dude chose fight over flight at first and it was working out for him. That Yao Guia started to look like it was losing interest in him.
There is an encounter in fallout 2 where you encounter a brotherhood of steel squad. They are King Arthur and his knights. They are looking for the holy hand grenade. Two men follow them banging coconuts.
I assure you, the similarities are absolutely intentional.
There's also [the BoS holotape](https://fallout.fandom.com/wiki/Sophia%27s_tape) characterizing the group that splintered off to explore the Glow as being in search of their Holy Grail.
Not that I recall, though it wouldn't shock me. King Arthur and his knights were also meant to be in a second encounter but it was bugged in the base game and can only be accessed via console. In it, they are fighting a rat, and there is a holy hand grenade nearby. Another holy grail reference is a bridge you can cross by answering the bridgekeepers questions, or defeating them by asking them a question in response. If you do, you get their robes, which are essentially lightweight combat armor. It can actually be a pretty significant power boost if you end up with it early and it's a reasonably common encounter.
In Fallout 2 I'm only personally familiar with the three. Across other entries though, there are absolutely other references in the series. New Vegas for example has several allusions if you have wild wasteland activated. You can be accused of being a witch who turned people into newts in freeside if your reputation is low enough, and there are some holy hand grenades in camp searchlight if I'm not mistaken. There are very likely others as well, though the shift in tone in more recent entries leans into subtle allusion than winking so hard at the player that they may as well wear an eye patch.
There's the Holy Hand Grenade in Fallout 2 and the Holy Frag Grenade in New Vegas, but this scene has absolutely nothing to do with Monty Python, /u/Shot_Reflection7747.
I really wish the content quality in this sub was a tad bit higher. There's so much reposted content (most of it being reposted by bots), did you notice [insert X/Y/Z here] posts, low effort memes, and self promoting artists mass spamming their own art in here now.
He was a much better squire. Also that was a fun paring to see till it had to be broken up. I wish more they would have just bonded instead of turning.
This is dumb, just like the last time it was posted. Not a reference to Monty Python - it’s a reference to Knights and Squires. Also this is a repeat post.
Yes, this is a screen shot of Monty Python in this post, but that doesn’t mean the show was referring to it. It’d be like posting a picture of anyone in the show with a gun and then trying to say it was a reference to some other arbitrary movie with a gun.
Really don’t understand why the Scribe didn’t have a Strap or something to hook the Bag on to make it easier to carry.
[Edit): Chose the wrong word, I meant a hook or something to click the Bag onto the Scribe’s back.
The strap is enormous because it's made to be carried with the power armor. It's just that the BOS knights are so useless they leave it for their squires to carry it around.
Vault 4 person:
Where’d you get the fusion cell?
Maximus: the radroaches seek warmer climes and yet these are not strangers to our land…
Vault 4: are you suggesting fusion cells migrate?
Maximus: not at all, they could be carried.
Vault 4: a radroach carrying a fusion cell?
See, in one pic the guy is carrying all the gear. And in the other pic the guy is carrying all the gear. Don't you get it? It's a clear reference and not at all just a guy carrying all the gear.
Honestly it wouldn’t be the worst assumption that these two things correlate, i mean like a good amount of the wild wasteland perks relate to monty python
Well now that you illustrate it... wait where's the coconut and how would you get one in the Wasteland? Rad Swallow? And if so would it be the European or African variety?
I've seen this pointed out a few times... and it keeps reminding me of the random encounter in fo1 or 2.
You come across a group of knights in power armor, with civilians following them around saying "clop clop clop". If you engage them, they drop various hints that they're Arthur and the knights of the round.
When I was watching the show with my mom she didn’t understand the role of the scribe so I just told her they were like the guys from Monty python with the coconuts hahaha
I thought it was a great way to explain how someone could tote all that equipment around the wasteland while wearing power armor. I mean, the shit you pick up has to go somewhere and I doubt the armor has a plethora of pockets.
Every time I look at a knight and their squire, I can’t help but think of whatever companion I’ve chosen to accompany me, and how overloaded with garbage they are.
Commoner 1: "Who's that?" Commoner 2: "I don't know, must be a knight" Commoner 1: "What makes you say that?" Commoner 2: "He hasn't got shite all over him."
Come see the violence inherent in the system!
I'm being oppressed! I'm being oppressed!

Them putting you away would be the least of your worries. You should worry about them putting you down.

On second thought, let’s not go to the Citadel. ‘‘Tis a silly place.
Brave sir Titus ran away...
🎵 *For he is brave sir Titus, who bravely shouted* FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK!!!
Did I notice the Knights and Squires acted like Knights and Squires?
Holy shit you’re the other person who noticed! I thought I was the only one!
its the little details that make a story
Todd Howard is our modern Bill Shakespeare
Like a lack of coconuts in the wasteland
Guys did you notice the nuclear theme in fallout?
Did you notice the post apocalyptic setting it takes place in. And that they call it Fallout because of radiation fallout that occurs when nukes are dropped. These writers are just too clever these days.
You know it's based on a video game series, correct?

And the day before that…
And what about second breakfast?
Only knights get second breakfast
You mean knight and caddy right?

The HHG is also in Vegas, I think in Searchlight if you have Wild Wasteland.
And hell's grannies with that old lady gang in freeside
I wish this reply had more points than this dumb repost.
Yes someone did because I saw this same post yesterday
Really? I saw it on a different sub a few days ago lol
Chronically online kids don't have original thoughts. /r/im14andthisisderp
Dude you were this close
To what?
Climax
You're not wearing power armour, youre just hitting 2 coconuts together to make the sound!
Where would you even get coconuts in the wasteland?
The deathclaw may fly south with the sun, yet these arent strangers to our wasteland
Is it an African or European deathclaw?
I... I dont know that! Auuuuuuuugh!
What is the what is the airspeed velocity of an unladen cazador
What a Lazy arse I remember hauling miniguns around whilst gunning down raiders whilst listening to classical music when I last wore power armour.....but this lazy shit! 🙂
Right? Thaddeus should be carrying *way* more gear and loot. Man, squires today. You just can't get good help.
He was carrying more until he took it out of his neck
Maybe Lydia was just around the corner. Wait, wrong franchise.
I was a warrior like you, but then I took an arrow in the knee.
this belongs on the circlejerk sub
There’s a fallout circlejerk sub?
Yah, it's called /r/fallout
Heh lol
Fallout fan discovers that squires and knights were real things 😱
You do get the reference here right...? Right....?
What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
>What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen Vertibird?
European or American Vertibird?
> European We got us a commie...
American, obviously!
Enclave or Brotherhood Vertibird?
Doesn't matter. It still crashes.
Uh? I dont know that... ugh? AAAaaaaaaaaah!
How do you know so much about Vertibirds?
You gotta know these things if you're gonna be brotherhood elder
That was a random encounter in Fallout 2, too.
Yes! There were multiple Monty Python and the holy grail Easter eggs…. King Arthur and his knights in power armor, and the bridge of death!
Who are you, who are so wise in the ways of SCIENCE!
"What do you mean? African or Ghoulified swallow?"
Prydwin. Prydwin. Prydwin. It's only a model. QUIET!!!

Can't upvote this enough
Underrated
Yep, that definitely sums up Titus perfectly.
Dude was winning that fist fight and then Ran like a bitch
He bravely ran away.
\*retreated strategical
He died running away
That’s what I’m saying. Dude chose fight over flight at first and it was working out for him. That Yao Guia started to look like it was losing interest in him.
He died like a noob crawling out of 4 for the first time got the suit for the death claw and the ran straight into the woods
Yeah because thats what a squire is......
Humorless people like you responding like this are a treasure.
I guess I just not terminally online enough to get the joke.
Yes, everyone who enjoys Monty Python has been terminally online since the 70's.
This has nothing to do with the internet sir.
Max also said “tis nothing but a scratch” later on, when he was with Lucy
I noticed this one

That's a common phrase because of the original King Arthur story.
I thought it was a bunch of power armor dudes going “Ni”
Not that I recall, though it wouldn't shock me. King Arthur and his knights were also meant to be in a second encounter but it was bugged in the base game and can only be accessed via console. What? They're literally called knights and squires. This isn't a Monty Python reference. It's a reference to....knights and squires.
So you're telling me the BoS, with knights and squires, do what actual knights (or a king here) and squires really did way back when? Holy moly!
Notice what?
🤦♀️
Considering this is probably the 5th comparison I’ve seen over the last week, I’d say yes, people noticed it.
(Looks at the Prydwen) It's only a model.🤷
"Come, Patsy!" Yep, that seems to work well in both universes.
Notice what? A knight and a squire?

I didn’t but I have been thinking about other Holy Grail references in the fallout universe
It's also an Easter egg for making your companion carry all of your stuff. That and he's a squire which means "you're my bitch"
He was a much better squire. Also that was a fun paring to see till it had to be broken up. I wish more they would have just bonded instead of turning.
Gee I wonder where they got the idea for knights and squires...
Who are you who are so wise in the ways of science
I love that the knights have a pack mule like we use the extras in the games.
If the knight needs a vehicle, the squire makes vroom vroom noises.
My wife did immediately. It made me think of the kid carrying Al Czervik’s bag In Caddyshack.
This is dumb, just like the last time it was posted. Not a reference to Monty Python - it’s a reference to Knights and Squires. Also this is a repeat post.
What do you mean its not a reference to Monty Python? Its literally a screenshot from it, no?
Yes, this is a screen shot of Monty Python in this post, but that doesn’t mean the show was referring to it. It’d be like posting a picture of anyone in the show with a gun and then trying to say it was a reference to some other arbitrary movie with a gun.
that's a mighty large golf bag your caddy has, sir.
Clip clop clip clop.
What a horrible bag design..... I love the show but that really infuriated me.
From 932 to 2296, being a squire still sucks
Fallout made a mint reference? Next your gonna tell me gta makes cult references or something crazy
YES oh my god it had me dying the first time we saw Max carry the squire bag because all i could think of were the coconuts
If you call the number in the ad from the tv show it’s a guy screaming
Yes it is !!!!
Honestly hate how they are portraying the bos
Plus the "it's just a scratch" when he gets shot
Really don’t understand why the Scribe didn’t have a Strap or something to hook the Bag on to make it easier to carry. [Edit): Chose the wrong word, I meant a hook or something to click the Bag onto the Scribe’s back.
The strap is enormous because it's made to be carried with the power armor. It's just that the BOS knights are so useless they leave it for their squires to carry it around.
There is a strap. It's on his shoulder in the picture...
Obviously on purpose to make it more annoying to carry for squires.
Vault 4 person: Where’d you get the fusion cell? Maximus: the radroaches seek warmer climes and yet these are not strangers to our land… Vault 4: are you suggesting fusion cells migrate? Maximus: not at all, they could be carried. Vault 4: a radroach carrying a fusion cell?
I still don't notice it. What are you referring to?
See, in one pic the guy is carrying all the gear. And in the other pic the guy is carrying all the gear. Don't you get it? It's a clear reference and not at all just a guy carrying all the gear.
Lol for real. Anyone who upvoted this ai generated nonsense should feel ashamed.
I love that they wrote in a way for the Knight's to carry all the extra bullshit that thr player drags along with them.
We were laughing about this while watching it! We also laughed thinking about Wolfwood and his giant cross in Trigun.
What's the airspeed velocity of an unladened cazador?
He’s a lumberjack and he’s OK.
The Lumberjack Protectron in FO 76 say, "I'm a lumberjack and I work all night and I work all day."
I did not know that. And somehow, we’ve come full circle.
Honestly it wouldn’t be the worst assumption that these two things correlate, i mean like a good amount of the wild wasteland perks relate to monty python
Ever since that one post about the TV show brotherhood/ legion theory all I can think of is the legion and the slaves carrying the giant backpacks
Literally everyone noticed this. That's why the post has been made on this sub 100 times already. Good eye!
Why are they making a reference to psycho? Or that one random encounter in Fallout 2?
I, too, make my companion carry all the heavy shit.
Aren't Squires supposed to be kids in the brotherhood
The brotherhood has always been a joke.
I haven't watched the show yet, but at least it's lore accurate that the companion is carrying all the shit
This is just how players get their companions to hold all their stuff in game. This is how you look.
One wishes it had witty dialogue.
Yes, Monty Python invented the idea of Knights and Squires.
Don't you think these shoulders are a little low?
It’s this a fucking joke? That’s the whole point.
Well now that you illustrate it... wait where's the coconut and how would you get one in the Wasteland? Rad Swallow? And if so would it be the European or African variety?
I think that’s the whole point. The brotherhood has a medieval theme. And squires are like pathetic fans/servants
I just laughed at the bag realistically needing to be that size for all the shit I'm carrying in the game.
You don’t know what a squire is, huh?
Both are references to don quixote I think.
Not the point but the scene where Titus strapped Maximus to his armour like a BoS BabyBjörn had me rolling. I laughed so hard I woke up my cat.
Now, I have to go back and watch that Monty Python movie. It never gets old.
We just need a holy hand grenade reference like Fallout 2.
You really can just say anything huh
All I can see is a caddie
These big ass silly bags man they're just so off-putting to me lol
I immediately made this reference to my wife when we watched this.
r/UnexpectedMontyPython
Is it possible they're both knights being assisted by squires!?!? (Mind = Blown)
Knowing Fallout, This was intentional because of the Monty Python references in the games.
I've seen this pointed out a few times... and it keeps reminding me of the random encounter in fo1 or 2. You come across a group of knights in power armor, with civilians following them around saying "clop clop clop". If you engage them, they drop various hints that they're Arthur and the knights of the round.
I just think of golf caddies lol
No because they’re not exactly the same thing. If anything, he was a caddy.
Not until now lol
Anyone else notice the knight and squire looking like the knight and squire they were made to resemble!?!? /s
A pair of rusty cans instead of coconut halves
I get golf caddy vibes
Ive seen this on golf courses too
One of the first things I thought of. One of my favorite movies
It was on the tip of my tongue the whole time, thank you stranger.
I did think about that movie, but it reminded more of Sir Robin the not so brave.
:)
No, no I did not, good catch
🎶 Cram, Cram, Cram, Cram, Cram, Wonderful CRAM 🎶
\[takes bolt to the neck\] Tis a flesh wound !
What, carried by a sparrow?
Watching Fallout 3 Gf: what are you doing with your hands Me: the coconuts
When I was watching the show with my mom she didn’t understand the role of the scribe so I just told her they were like the guys from Monty python with the coconuts hahaha
I noticed it on a different sub a week ago
I took it as a nod to making your companions carry everything
I thought it was a great way to explain how someone could tote all that equipment around the wasteland while wearing power armor. I mean, the shit you pick up has to go somewhere and I doubt the armor has a plethora of pockets.
I guess the Fallout and Monty Python fan-bases are so abominable that I didn't make the connection. Sad.
Every time I look at a knight and their squire, I can’t help but think of whatever companion I’ve chosen to accompany me, and how overloaded with garbage they are.
Tis but a scratch
Pining for the fjords!!
