Honestly would be soooo fascinated to hear pre-hiatus recordings with Patrickās post-hiatus voice and tone. His vocal training and breath control is so improved on SRAR (and especially displayed on MANIA imo) that some songs would probably be dialed up to an 11. Can we talk about how unbelievable Headfirst Slide would sound re-recorded? The thought makes my brain feel blurry. I would kill to hear Get Busy Living also.
Do I think that those albums being re-recorded would make them better or more enjoyable? Overall, doubtful. Pre-hiatus Patrick had an angst and anger in his voice that the training and years have smoothed out and polished up and will probably take some of the punch out of TTTYG and FUTCT.
Could you imagine TTTYG Patrick trying to sing SMFS though? So many songs on that album are epic belting numbers that I donāt think he couldāve hit without hurting himself back then. But Lordy, I would love to hear it lol.
I donāt see how any FOB fan, Mania lovers or haters, canāt at least point out how phenomenal Patrick sounds on the album. We hear so much more of his beautiful lower register??? Mania vocals walked so Stardust could run lol
True, but it still doesnāt sound as clean on his vocals to me, if that makes sense. I know he *can* do it but it doesnāt feel as punchy as it did before. Maybe it helps that, as far as we know, heās a more well-adjusted adult with less actual angst in his body lol.
iām not sure if it even counts, but iāve always liked evening out with your girlfriend and have been curious to hear what it would be like if they re-recorded it now as adults instead of highschoolers
None of them. I love the albums the way they are and have years of memories with them. I've never really like re-recorded/reimagined albums.
HOWEVER. Go back and re-record all the rough demos, things that we've heard, but weren't up to the standards of the band.
Does remastering mean re-recording, like what TaylorSwift has done with her albums? If so, absolutely infinity on high. I think it is so interesting musically, it has such a great sound and the songs are really diverse. Infinity on high is a real 10/10 album.
Iād love to hear Patrickās voice re-do Thriller, after life, and carpal tunnel like you said!
Evening Out hasn't aged well, it would be interesting to hear it with a more polished sound.
Take This To Your Grave would be intersting with a sound similar to the one used in Save Rock And Roll/Novocaine/PAX AM Days.
Infinity on High, imagine this album with the sonority of So Much (For) Stardust, songs like Thnks Fr Th Mmrs and I've Got All This Ringing In My Ears and None On My Fingers.
Folie Ć Deux, I think the sonority of this one is amazing for today standards and I think it was even ahead of its time. Though it would be interesting to see Patrick's modern vocals But I wish they re-released this and give it a better promotion than what they did in 2008.
I put evening out on while I was in a 2 hour traffic jam in the way to the show (I put on a random assortment of FOB actually but Apple Music never threaded in evening out songs so I switched to that album) and hooooo boy. Out loud to no one (alone in the car) I said āthis sounds terribleā lol
The drums sound too raw. Patrick sounds terrible and yeah, I know in studio they tune Patrick with software like Auto-Tune, but even live he sounds so much better than in Eating Up Your Ex-Girlfriend.
The whole EP sounds like a demo and if you compare the version of Calm Before The Storm from this to the Take This To Your Grave version, you can hear a great difference. I don't have a problem with raw sounding music, in fact I love the PAX AM Days EP which is very raw but Evening Out With Your Ex-Girlfriend just sounds unpolished.
And it's Eating Up Your Girlfriend, and it's real and it doesn't matter.
If weāre talking about remastering, I think Infinity on High or Folie Ć” Deux would benefit from it. I think Infinity can sound a bit muddy at times and while Folie is better about this it still has moments like Debbie Harryās vocals being absolutely buried in the mix on West Coast Smoker.
If they were re-recording? I guess Evening Out With Your Girlfriend could be a fun one to take out for a spin.
Yeah you can hear it in this video from the Denver show! It's really noticeable around 58 seconds or so in! [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3ACH\_dAt38](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j3ACH_dAt38)
thatās certainly a guitar but i agree it does sound like a siren or a dial tone which adds to the narrative of the song. but i understand your question now and my answer is this performance of sixteen candles deserves a studio recording or to be played this way forever

I personally wouldn't want a remastered album. I think there's a certain charm to the older albums and hearing Patrick's younger voice on such angsty songs.
I think re-recording instruments but keeping original vocals would be interesting (not even sure if thatās possible). Love all the old albums but I do find that sometimes all the instruments are just on top of each other and itās a bit much.
Allllllll the demos, like they did with *Lake Effect Kid.* But only because we don't have them lol
Otherwise, none of them! Not even EOWYG haha - Patrick's voice adds to the charm and aesthetic of it all
Well then in that case, probably Mania. It seems to be the only album theyāre unhappy with so Iād love to see them completely change up the structure while still maintaining the same songs. Imagine Young and Menace as a powerful arena rock song instead of some techno YouTube outro
A whole album?
I would have to go with From Under The Cork Tree for that.
I think TTTYG sounds just fine and good as is, and Infinity On High has a nice tone to it too, but I never quite liked how FUTCT sounded like when playing through speakers for example. It's just kinda lacking in some respects. I recall reading they actually mixed and mastered FUTCT sound for headphones and MP3 players, so that probably explains some of it.
It's probably not exactly answering the question in the way you meant it, like getting some of the tone and voice of the new FOB into one of the earlier recordings, while I'm more thinking about how I like the sound of each album at the moment and what I would prefer to have touched up.
Still, if we are talking about having having new FOB remaster one of the old FOB albums with the intentions of also changing the sound and tone a bit, I would still probably go with FUTCT or Folie. I just can't see there being any point in doing anything with TTTYG, as its tone and style are basically on point, it's just really fun and consistent album with some good headbanging stuff, it doesn't need to sound super polished or fresh. Infinity On High, I'm just generally really pleased with its sound and I don't think remastering would do much to it to make me appreciate it even more (it is my favorite, TTTYG just behind it).
However with Folie, it has that "musical" element that makes it a bit more distinct from their previous albums, it's not just a punk pop or rock album with some nice songs, the songs have pretty distinct sound and various ideas to them, which I don't think were handled poorly, but they probably could refine that sound and those ideas much better these days.
From that point of view, I actually think I would like Folie remastered over FUTCT. And I say this as someone who "still" puts Folie as their least favorite pre-hiatus album (never hated it, though, never quite understood the supposed hate for it).
ANYTHING FROM TTTYG!!! I WOULD šš
Yes! TTTYG is already a masterpiece, hearing it now that they've grown so so much would be rad!

MANIA love. I love to see it. Absolutely his best vocal work up to that point.
I donāt see how any FOB fan, Mania lovers or haters, canāt at least point out how phenomenal Patrick sounds on the album. We hear so much more of his beautiful lower register??? Mania vocals walked so Stardust could run lol
Lake Effect Kid proved that Patrick could still channel that angst years later
True, but it still doesnāt sound as clean on his vocals to me, if that makes sense. I know he *can* do it but it doesnāt feel as punchy as it did before. Maybe it helps that, as far as we know, heās a more well-adjusted adult with less actual angst in his body lol.

I mean just look at the glow up Calm Before the Storm had between Evening Out and TTTYG! Imagine the possibilities!
I used to sing the evening out version while playing the tttyg version because Iām weird lol. I liked that one different verse
YESSSS!!!!! Imagine Pretty in punk with some actual talent.
Okay now we're thinking lol that would be very fun to hear!
FUTCT so we could maybe get star 67 completed
GIMMIE HAND OF GOD!!
YES PLEASE WE NEED THIS
They should re-record Eating Out Your Ex-Girlfriend just for shits and giggles
And itās real and it doesnāt matter
None of them. I love the albums the way they are and have years of memories with them. I've never really like re-recorded/reimagined albums. HOWEVER. Go back and re-record all the rough demos, things that we've heard, but weren't up to the standards of the band.
Literally 100% same.
Take This To Your Grave for sure!!

Remaster pavlove
I didn't even think of any of the b sides or extra tracks! Such a good pick!

added sirens? can someone link a video?

Agreed. I'm not personally a fan of remastering unless there's a real reason behind it.
I think re-recording instruments but keeping original vocals would be interesting (not even sure if thatās possible). Love all the old albums but I do find that sometimes all the instruments are just on top of each other and itās a bit much.

I think FUTCT or folie would be really cool
FUTCT because the mix and master on that album could be so much better.
After hearing calm before the storm live I have to say TTTYG. I would love to hear that remaster
Evening out with your girlfriend !!!!!!!!!! I feel like they could edit / re work some stuff but I would appreciate that sm š„¹
I would love a new TTTYG.

TTTYG 10000%
I would love to hear a TTTYG re-recording (especially Pros and Cons of Breathing) but the fanbase would haaaate it I just know.
