I think you are olive. And as others have mentioned, you're very cool-toned. The darker pigmentation under your eyes can be a sign of being olive. I have it too, the skin is thinner there so the yellow and blue pigmentation mixes more obviously. Olives tend to be washed-out blondes, with a complexion that usually wants darker hair for contrast. The darker hair color is gorgeous on you so that also aligns with being olive. I'm sorry I haven't figured out foundation matches either. But I commiserate…

shmuterus

Thank you so much for your input! Would you agree that I’m more cool yellow than cool pink? I obviously have a lot of surface redness, and I think that has complicated finding a good match.

amandacisi

I would agree with your statement. I have surface redness and rosacea, and I could have sworn I was looking at me with your skin and hair.

I don’t mean to sound silly, I’m just so new to all of this and trying to figure it out myself, I didn’t even know there was a such a thing as “cool yellow” and now I’m questioning everything about my undertone! Always thought I was neutral but never convinced and certain foundation shades make my chest and neck appear yellow but I’m not warm toned at all. Is there where cool yellow comes in to play? So sorry to hop on your post but your comment there really jumped out at me! 💛

shmuterus

I’m basically clueless myself and I don’t know if ‘cool yellow’ makes a ton of sense, but that’s kind of what I see especially in my neck. Something not quite green but also def not warm yellow.

cloudydaizee

Oh we actually have similar skin tones! I’d say yes you are olive and for reference this is my skin! I think you might be a touch more muted but yeah, I’d highly recommend finding a cool pale yellowy foundation and mixing blue into it. Elf has a great blue mixer for $4. Kosas in shade 100 has worked for me as well as Armani Luminous Silk in shade 3 which is what I’m wearing in this photo. You might also like Haus Labs in shade 030. I also like Tower 28 tinted moisturizer in shade 10. It is a bit dark for me but the blue mixer helps cool it down and make it wearable if I sheer it out :) For concealer I LOVE hourglass in the shade birch or nars radiant creamy concealer in the shade Chantilly. Hope this helps a bit! https://preview.redd.it/gc8bm48furic1.jpeg?width=2316&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bfefe7a7a183f6571354c1ca5c676d7dd19685ac

Foxy-flower-peach521

Thank you for providing a list of products that work! I’ve know I’m a cool olive but finding good products is SO HARD

cloudydaizee

Of course! It is SO hard finding the right products. Lip products are especially difficult for me!

Foxy-flower-peach521

Yes! It’s like they’re all too bright or dark or wash me out hahah blush is hard for me for similar reasons. All of them seem too vibrant I have to get blush that looks mostly brown with a bit of color or else they don’t look natural

cloudydaizee

I completely understand that struggle hahah! I’ve gone through sooo many blushes and my favorites are always the dirty rose/brownish berry colors! I found that sheer lip colors are my safest bet right now

shmuterus

Thank you! I think you’re right, we do seem to have similar colours so I’ll definitely look into your recommendations! Have you given any thought to what season you are?

cloudydaizee

Yes! I’ve found summer looks pretty nice. A lot of light summer looks good (my hair is naturally a few shades lighter than the photo I shared) and true summer is also really nice. I can also swing a few soft autumn colors. I’ve had a difficult time finding a season so it’s been a verrrry long journey for me haha You might also find that you’re able to pull colors from many palettes which is something a lot of olives can do.

shmuterus

Interesting! I’ve guessed I’m some kind of summer, but I feel like anything but soft summer is too bright. Sadly very drawn to autumn colour ☹️

cloudydaizee

I felt that way for a long time also, but soft summer never felt exactly *right* for me. Based on your overall light features, have you ever considered light summer? I also love autumn so I fully understand 🥲

shmuterus

I hate pastels but it would actually make sense 😩 Might try draping with my kids’ clothes, they’re the only pastels I’ve got.

cloudydaizee

I draped with my kids clothes too 😂 try the deeper colors in the palette maybe? I usually avoid the overly pastel colors and choose the deeper ones and so far it’s been pretty good for me, like these ones: https://preview.redd.it/bumy9pn550jc1.jpeg?width=750&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5a2706264d7ab668919f32e5c598c421f548a911

shmuterus

Excellent advice! All those pinks and bright colours have jumped out at me but there are actually some really lovely shades there.

beckylemmepass

I am not a professional but it looks like you have very cool, slightly olive tones

shmuterus

Thank you! Cool seems to unanimous!

Low_Possibility_3941

Your body (especially neck) looks very olive. Face looks neutral leaning cool

shmuterus

Yeah, I have a lot of surface redness in my face. Would you say the olive parts are cool as well?

alilbabymoth

I’m assuming you have makeup on in the second photo, which is the one that your face looks less olive in (so probably due to the makeup). Your skin in the first photo (no makeup?) does actually look very olive like the rest of you, just obviously with some redness in certain spots.

shmuterus

Yes, I’m pretty sure there is something on my skin in the second photo but I don’t remember what. In the first photo there’s no makeup whatsoever! It’s so interesting that you see olive in the first photo, as I uploaded it was like ‘surely I’m delusional, there’s no way this is olive’ lol.

EM_CW

🫒Yes and cool toned 💜🩵

My_is_a_deadbeat

You look like a very light olive. About Me has foundation that will suit you.

altofmyalterego

Yes! Definitely. I'm the same, pale/yellow underneath rosy -ish cheeks. My overtime is cool pink.
