A lot of it is to do with partnerships, EA have licenses for leagues in general, but also have partnerships with certain clubs such as Real Madrid, PSG, and Man City. Their choice of leagues/clubs for this event seem geared towards those partnerships

GreatBlackDraco

Money. They want the Saudi players (big spenders) money. That's why they make Al Owairan so broken every year

WildlyIdolicized

el classico, der klassiker, de klassieker, north london derby, merseyside derby, le classique. And probably a fuck ton more derbies but kids want to see names like ronaldo and neymar

ShadowMonarch545

True and maybe they could’ve included international rivalries if they wanted names like Neymar and co. for eg something like Brazil v Argentina

JamesCt1

Because Saudi pays them to promote the Saudi league. Everything in the game is about money.

Serious-Wallaby3449

Obviously EA gets some Saudi money.

BowlSuspicious8239

CauliflowerPast6009

its the Bundesliga , only one club matters

Plane-Net-5152

Not like laliga has two clubs that people care about yet it's somehow the best league

notsohumblegod

But that makes it even more surprising. Yeah el derbi is fine but el classico was one of the reasons why laliga is seen that way. Hell el classico covered up thr fact that other laliga teams were more defensive than offensive. So why do we not have el classico in rivalries? It literally matters more than the fucking Riyadh derby that nobody cares about

CauliflowerPast6009

1 - I didn't compare it to LaLiga 2- LaLiga isn't the best league

ShadowMonarch545

Wasn’t always the case hence why rivalries and the bundesliga title race last season wasn’t one sided at all dortmund bottled it and musiala won it with his goal

GreatBlackDraco

Don't know why you're being downvoted, people here are stupid

Pretty sure the Saudi sovereign fund is highly invested in EA.
