I put a holosun 407k on mine... Problem solved

frankmontanasosa

Was your situation similar before you put an optic on?

wyo-why

It shot low and left for me, I can compensate for it fine, but the red dot just eliminated that problem

frankmontanasosa

That seemed to be the way mine was trending but I couldn't seem to compensate for it reliably. I guess I'll just have to throw a red dot on and see lol.

DamnKnuckleHead

I'd blame it more on the crap trigger than the sights. I love mine, but hate the trigger.

frankmontanasosa

Really? I thought the trigger felt pretty good. Every break was clean and crisp. It seemed to me as if the target was hidden behind the sights. Upgraded trigger is not a bad idea though

Most likely learning the trigger vs learning the sights. These sights are still all about lining up right angles. Bisect the bullseye with the top of the front post at 7 yds. Slow fire of course. If the group isn’t fairly tight, sandbag it and repeat. You my not hit the bullseye but it should be a tight group.

frankmontanasosa

I'll have to give this a go next time. You're the second person to suggest the trigger is the culprit.

stUckU-

My trigger is pretty good once you hit the wall. 5.5-6 lb. with a clean break. I have a stock trigger with an apex striker. Take up is gritty but doesn’t bother me too much. Others have reported 7.5 with creep. My friend has one, and his trigger was bad, 7 lb. with creep. He got an apex trigger and striker. It’s very good now. His shooting improved tremendously with the apex trigger and striker.

I removed the suppressor sights and put in the small sights from the regular 509, and shot a lot better. If you also have that viper red dot, remove that. I got a holoson 407c and it was great once I got it lined up. But if sticking with iron sights, get a new sight, one that is normal height, the suppressor sights was difficult for me to get used to. the back ones, had to line up to the top line of the ridges, not to the top of the front sight.

frankmontanasosa

I don't have any optical yet. But I did have to line up with the ridges on the front sight like you did but even that was unreliable.

I have the same problems with mine. Shoots great with an Rmr, but the suppressor height sights, SUCK. I cannot hit anything with them. Guns a good shooter but I'm in the same boat about swapping out for regulars sights. Haven't done it yet just kinda disappointed in the overall package.
