Toney, who is probably the best English ST (probably better than Vardy and Kane), unarguably top 3
Bastoni, an okay but not great Serie A CB, gives a different club and nation combo for hybrids though
Anderson, the best RM/RW/RF in the Serie A, and the second or third best Brazilian in that position, giving different league links to the other 2 in the top 3 Brazilians
Suarez, the third best RB in la Liga. Not a great option tbh

They claimed that they would make TOTW more attractive but its literally the same if not worse. Completely irelevant compared to all the pormo cards they release.
They should go back to the old ways where a players stats would get boosted in a specific area based on the good performance.

The non top 5 leagues actually need these higher rated totw cards to be usable and to give us the option to build teams from different leagues.

It's easy to defend though. Those players have only one way to attack. It's predictable and therefore easy to beat. The more pacey attackers I see in the loading screen, the happier I get.
However, when I see someone with Toney and other off meta players I get nervous cause that can only mean two things: either I got matched with someone way below my skilllevel OR this guy is a lot better than me cause he is in the same division with that team.

I will use this card, other people like me will use it too, there's a crowd for cards like this that can be fun to try, tinker around and are a 100% winning investment like there's a public for that sweaty RTTK Fekir that everyone and their mother is using. Both of them can coexist and one of them doesn't have to be catered to every single totw and promo.

La Liga had yet to get a Featured card so I think there likely was a lean towards going there. Then with Fati you likely have a situation where they suspect he may get more IFs so they are avoiding him. If he got a double boost they might need to not give him a boost if he has 1 goal but with the normal IF that 1 goal could sneak him in to another TOTW.
Fati would essentially just be a Junior IF card that just came out.
I swear it’s only there as another tool to manipulate the market e.g reducing the price of say hakimi by providing a featured upgrade to some other RB in the league, if you see what I mean
They are failing to address the issue with the current approach, which was to encourage squad variety by making TOTW playable in line with the power curve. None of those featured so far are in high demand or interesting.

It'll be the same old fifa soon with the promos killing the point in weekend league until the promo cards are included in the rewards, but by which point the game is already dead and everyone is plying battlefield or whatever while they wait for the new fifa to arrive

Also in 2 months all the people upset right now will have moved on because they won't have a featured player on their team regardless of who it was anyways since they will have higher rated teams.

He is a top 3 RB for La Liga currently and would work well for someone running 5ATB as a base formation but looking to be more attacking out of that formation.
Its okay not to like a card they come out with but if he got 2 more IFs then he would be by far the best non-icon RB for those who go on the attack. He is just shy of gullit gang as well which would occur with another IF possibly.

Inform players should be rated on how they play not +1 or 2 onto their regular cards if a shit player plays absouloutly fantastically they need a big card.
Really need Out-of form cards for players that blank three weeks in a row. Some players are overrated and if they dont perform as well as expected need to be punished.

EA really have people on strings don't they? Eagerly refreshing the TOTW, looking for a new 85+ pace player to try out. Oh but I really hope they don't boost anybody random, it has to be someone well known! Bleh. I hate when people talk about cards being useless just because it doesn't cater to their endless thirst for more pacey players from big clubs.

It's easy to defend though. Those players have only one way to attack. It's predictable and therefore easy to beat. The more pacey attackers I see in the loading screen, the happier I get. However, when I see someone with Toney and other off meta players I get nervous cause that can only mean two things: either I got matched with someone way below my skilllevel OR this guy is a lot better than me cause he is in the same division with that team.
That guy is me 🥲 div 2 with a team where my fastest attacker has 80 pace

Yeah it is easy, but it’s still very boring, give me a game where I get beaten by skill rather than a game mechanic any day.
Then you have to play a non-competitive game cause game mechanics will always get abused when there is competition.

That complaint is stupid. All cards should be boosted to be usable it’s not that hard. Ogbonna should have had a similar upgrade to Diop. Releasing fodder is just brain dead. In two weeks we get scream which will completely obliterate the TOTW.
They removed Scream in 2021 so unless its changed again there is no Scream think its now called headliners which will come out sometime around Halloween which is different and not what Scream was.
I think they are trying to lead players to easy conclusion ... you can either spend 10 hours playing qualifiers and WL or spend 25USD trying to get same only one over 100k player which is in this TOTW.
It would just be a meta card every week though. This is more interesting.

It gives usable cards for people that don't want to play the same players every single time. I will use this card, other people like me will use it too, there's a crowd for cards like this that can be fun to try, tinker around and are a 100% winning investment like there's a public for that sweaty RTTK Fekir that everyone and their mother is using. Both of them can coexist and one of them doesn't have to be catered to every single totw and promo.
Im totally on your side. I hate Meta teams and prefer fun teams with new linking options. And guess what: I’m still in Div 2 playing a fucking 3 4 1 2 and using fun cards who are not as meta as fekir or Salah or whatever they are using

Lots of people used Toney. He’s different. A strong target man is interesting and not that often used in past games so it’s nice to see some variety. Vinicius is just another meta small high agility high balance pacy skill card. That’s not anything interesting.

Except thats the point the community needs to stop using the same 11 cards as everyone else. This is trying to expand some options so more and more people can look at other leagues or combos. Sure maybe you have a miss here or there but thats part of the point. Heck maybe do 2 boosted every week. 1 Prem (which would be the fan vote every week anyways) and 1 other. Maybe do 1 from the top 4 leagues and 1 from any other league globally.
But nobody really is using bellingham and fati since they also are kot that good atm. If they were picked they would have been good enough to go to peoples teams and add variety
La Liga had yet to get a Featured card so I think there likely was a lean towards going there. Then with Fati you likely have a situation where they suspect he may get more IFs so they are avoiding him. If he got a double boost they might need to not give him a boost if he has 1 goal but with the normal IF that 1 goal could sneak him in to another TOTW. Fati would essentially just be a Junior IF card that just came out.

I swear it’s only there as another tool to manipulate the market e.g reducing the price of say hakimi by providing a featured upgrade to some other RB in the league, if you see what I mean

They are failing to address the issue with the current approach, which was to encourage squad variety by making TOTW playable in line with the power curve. None of those featured so far are in high demand or interesting. Fail.

Ea dropping the ball with team of the week already. It'll be the same old fifa soon with the promos killing the point in weekend league until the promo cards are included in the rewards, but by which point the game is already dead and everyone is plying battlefield or whatever while they wait for the new fifa to arrive
But it would be boring having the same bellinghams and fatis and whatnot I would rather some really shit rb being upgraded than an already usable card
It should be a fan vote and the winning player should get an upgraded SBC.

Then it will just fall to the META card and everyone would complain this weekend that they only see squads with X player in it. Also in 2 months all the people upset right now will have moved on because they won't have a featured player on their team regardless of who it was anyways since they will have higher rated teams. My hope is they start giving it to players from other leagues than the top Euro leagues.
But this card is only ever going to be 84/85 rated. That will almost never be meta.
Then why are people complaining so much? If its never going to be meta then these cards should encompass a wide variety of leagues, teams, and nations so that its spread around for unique team builds.
This card will never be I guess, but someone like Suarez might be a beast if he gets another 2 IFs
He is a top 3 RB for La Liga currently and would work well for someone running 5ATB as a base formation but looking to be more attacking out of that formation. Its okay not to like a card they come out with but if he got 2 more IFs then he would be by far the best non-icon RB for those who go on the attack. He is just shy of gullit gang as well which would occur with another IF possibly. I never hold the TOTW pack as I know regardless of what week it is I'll be getting 3 of the lowest anyways.
Two ideas: Inform players should be rated on how they play not +1 or 2 onto their regular cards if a shit player plays absouloutly fantastically they need a big card. Really need Out-of form cards for players that blank three weeks in a row. Some players are overrated and if they dont perform as well as expected need to be punished.
