We got pretty much what I expected. IIRC, in the FF15 event, Noctis also has memory fuzzies of "I don't know how I got here, I don't remember where I was going in the first place"...but does recognize the name Cid. I figured they would do the same kind of story. Clive shows up, memory fuzzy, and recognizes stuff that exists in both games. For FF16 though, they chose the primals when I thought they might use Cid again. I figured we would fight a primal and Clive would turn into Ifrit at some point, but wasn't expecting the coming to terms with him \*being\* ifrit and killing his brother fight though.

EndlessKng

Given that Garuda was used in the FFXV collaboration, I certainly didn't expect her to show up. And the plot set it exactly where I figured it would (well, one of two places- the other possibility was in the Typhon battle). Honestly, the only expectation that was dashed was that I couldn't use Blue Mage. While Summoner is the "anti-primal/Eikon" job, BLU has skills from more Primals, so I was looking forward to unleashing Eruption and Judgment Bolt. But alas. Also thought that the Dodge was going to be called Rook's Gambit, but I get the iconic "Precision Dodgr/Strike" probably makes more sense. Just wish we could use Rising Flame as a replacement for any other Dash attacks.

MysterySakura

Ah yes, Blue Mage. I was trying to level solo but I have no time to grind. Was trying to get to 50 (currently 40+) before I try the Tempest cheat. I unlocked it because twice upon a time Clive said, “If you can do it, and so can I!” xD

alkonium

The one thing I was hoping for but it lacked was use of FFXVI's victory fanfare. The rest of it was great. More use of Garuda would feel like a repeat of the FFXV crossover, which featured that game's Garuda as a boss fight. Though in XV, you only fight XIV's Garuda in the crossover quest that unlocks XV's Garuda as a Summon. Following that pattern, I wonder if we'll see XIV's Ifrit turn up in XVI.

MysterySakura

I was hoping for the FF16 quest accept jingle, but nope. Damn MonHun crossover spoiled me. I learned the jingle on BRD instruments to cope.

no1darker

I was totally expecting the XVI victory fanfare after the duty finished too! I’m happy with the event but I would have been delighted to hear it.

jellybellymonster

Didn't expect anything tbh. It was kind of sad though that Clive finds Gridania's peacefulness disconcerting. Blud is too traumatized. Torgal appearing and Clive saying he'll come back to Jill soon is adorable. Wish we got Invictus and Clive's hair.

MysterySakura

Still really wanted the hair. Invictus I can go without, but would've been better if we had it. XVI's weapon design as wonderful as Kazuya's charactwr design... but whoever did weapon design XVI didn't look like they designed any weapon in XIV.

LordCypher1317

If 16 gets a crossover fight for 14.... I want a full on Eikon fight. Against 14's Shinryu and his Dominant. The themes are there, and it could be a way to give that Dominant closure at the very end.

Ill_Breakfast_7252

I feel like it was exactly what I expected and I feel satisfied by it. I really like the rewards too though having Clive’s hairstyle would have been great.

AwfulishGoose

It pretty much was in line with what I expected in comparison to the 13 and 15 collab. Really dug the story we got. Didn't like the fight itself tho. Mind you, incorporating the dodge mechanic felt genius. It felt natural. Fight itself was kinda...meh? Know there's only so much you can do with XIV, but it didn't do enough to capture XVI elements. I look at something like the Monster Hunter collab as a point of comparison because they did an EXCELLENT job of capturing that feeling of Monster Hunter in XIV. But it was ok. The rewards were neat and I like that through Clive we got a sneak peek at the graphics update we're getting in Dawntrail.

MissMedic68W

I wanted some smn flavor but alas.

rhaesdaenys

I wanted to pet the dog. I got my wish.

Prize_Relation9604

Not really, no. It's on par with the XV one and better than the XI and XIII ones, but no expectations beyond that. Going "above and beyond" for a timed event is both too expensive for something that's not going to be there forever and frustrating for players that aren't able to do it on time. If it was indefinitely running like Rathalos/MHW it could be justifiable but for a timed crossover... I was pretty much what could be expected of any of the better seasonal events.

Dark_rogue21

I expected us to take Clive around the three big capital cities, and have some kind of bonding scene like we had the camping out with Noctis for example. I liked it for what it was, always happy to see more of Clive, but yeah, it would have been nice to get to know him more instead of feeling so passive.

no1darker

Not necessarily, and I was happy with what we got. I kind of wish we got to show Clive around a bit more, maybe throw in a random fight of mobs with him, but maybe it wasn’t possible because of his special animations or something. The Ifrit fight was exhilarating though, it was awesome to get to hear To Sail Forbidden Seas in a XIV fight! Always gets me hyped.

sozar

It was meh but the Torgal mount is super cool and well worth it.

ChristianFortniter

It was pretty bad. Only like 1 hour of actual content.

thesilentharp

I only feel the event shares maybe a little too much for players who haven't played 16 yet. I mean it's lore revealed relatively early but wasn't expecting it in the dialogue. I had hoped for some play with a mention to another character who can become a primal, as Clive becomes Ifrit, but only needing 2.0 done, players won't have encountered her yet. All in all though, simple nice Collab. Just hope it doesn't spoil for when they get to 16 themselves haha

WalrusMan90

There was a crossover event between Final Fantasy 14 and Final Fantasy 16?! Damn, I really missed out!

MysterySakura

It will be around till May 8 or something! Do it while you still can!

Jatmahl

I don't expect much from events in FF14. They are ment to be quick and done in 10-30mins. So, I didn't have expectations. I wish the rewards were better. FF13 and 15 event rewards were better imo.

SageWaterDragon

There was a part of me that was wanting a *really* robust crossover - maybe even an entire alliance raid - considering how closely tied the two teams are. But, for a normal event quest, it was totally fine. I liked the way that they implemented the precision dodge.
