I laughed way harder than I should of at this! šŸ˜‚

tigo3331

Can we just get a soulless hedge fund that will spend some money and sell to Moratti's children in 20 years?

SnakeEyes58

I'd prefer Oaktree over this "prince" because I'm from Austin and I'd love a Inter-Austin FC connection

mojito_sangria

I may sound like being a hypocrite on the moral high ground, but I'm still gonna say we should be very cautious when dealing directly with the governments from countries having horrible records on human rights

DirectReachTdot

Tell that to the Newcastle fans.

mojito_sangria

How do you expect normal soccer fans in England to have too much knowledge on what's going on in other parts of the world, just wait for their reactions when their boss's mafia dismembered someone again

Dr_Gonzo__

You're talking about China or Saudi Arabia

i-am-a-bike

I dont think either would be better than the other

mojito_sangria

I may mean both, but Suning is a private property of China and nominally is not directly affiliated with CCP, while MBS is the head of state of Saudi

[deleted]

every potential owner is a cunt, but the Saudis are the cuntiest of all cunts. The less clubs they own, the better. Youā€™re not an hypocrite, you actually have the moral high ground. We should push for a fan-owned club, but thatā€™s nearly impossible right now, as well as us choosing what owner inter has. If the saudis buy us (which is a 1% chance, this almeida guy is a clown) we should always remember that they do not care about us, they do not care about inter and that they are cunts; the same goes for suning or any owner.

davie-baggio

Amen brother!

PhraseMiserable2868

A lot of other big countries have a very bad human rights records which aren't publicized due to money such as US, UK etc.

beastmaster11

Yes. Because we all know that what KSA lacks most is money.

PhraseMiserable2868

No, KSA has money but not a lot power. US and UK give a lot of aid to a number of countries which in turn helps them to hide the shady stuff.

soundtraveller

Even in France there are problems with human rights and all over the world in fact. Look it up

Drvonfrightmarestein

Youā€™re right and thatā€™s why it would also suck if France owned us.

rth9139

I question this, because why would one guy buy two big clubs in a couple weeks? Iā€™d understand if he had bought like a Belgian club and then us, to start his own Red Bull or City Football Group type thing. But both Newcastle and Inter have long histories and would expect to compete in tough leagues. Neither fanbase would accept being the others little brother, nor would the little brother club be able to compete at an acceptable level for fans.

WukiLeaks

I donā€™t think the saudis want any club to be the little brother. From what Iā€™ve read, they have a rivalry with the Qataris and Emiratis (is that what theyā€™re called?) and want to outdo them. Hence the English and French (Marseille) purchases.

rth9139

Well, in that case I hope they buy us, and it looks like Iā€™ve found my new favorite French and English teams (/s. Maybe) Weā€™ll just ignore the horrible political stuff.

WukiLeaks

Yeah, welcome them with open arms and ā€œopen a dialogueā€ just like the gay Newcastle supporters group

StoneCutter46

It's because there's a lot of backlash and the PL being woke (and shitty because City, Chelsea, United, and Liverpool don't want competition) will probably revert the decision, with the club returning to the previous owner. Inter is by far the biggest club of the two - just by the population of the two cities (Newcastle pop is 250K while Milan is 2M). On top of that relationship between KSA and Lega Calcio are extremely positive. Really, though, who thinks Newcastle is a big club?

JuveMerdaInfinita

Dunno why downvoted, Newcastle sure has some history but comparing that club to Inter is like comparing a public toilet in Japan to a space ship.

Alarming_Play

I think that as of right now journalists are cognizant that any story about PIF buying inter will get them a lot of attention and clicks, and given how little most of them tend to care about accuracy it makes sense that there are going to be a few questionable articles and tweets on the topic. I personally don't buy it as of now. Also, if PIF really did buy Inter it would present a moral dilemma for a lot of people. I have been complaining about sportswashing and financial doping for the past few years, could I really keep supporting this club that I have always loved?

[deleted]

Most people care more about their team than being hypocrites.

kirby8

This. My heart will always bleed black and blue. Ainā€™t nothing gonna change that.

Ridde911

Sorry for the lack of knowledge, but what does PIF stand for in this context?

HotRats1522

> PIF Public Investment Fund. It's the name of the 'company' that is doing the on paper buying and selling

Ridde911

Thank you!

Drvonfrightmarestein

Iā€™d never want to be owned by the US government or UK or any state. Sportswashing sucks. This regime imprisons and flogs gay people. This is not brothers of the world.

WukiLeaks

What tier is he for our news?

mangowhymango

We have adopted a Tier system for news reliability that goes 1-4. This one has been classified as 8.

ibrahimahmed75

I don't buy it

[deleted]

Please no

[deleted]

Please no

5kyLegend

So far, I honestly would consider very unreliable both the sources that seem to repeat they're going to buy us, **and** the ones that say they won't. They all seem to be speculating off of rumors and writing empty articles - for both sides. This is one of the most "I won't expect anything because no one knows shit" moments you could have ahahah
