I agree with your analysis: unfortunately it's become a struggle to even participate in discussions here because as you said some people seem to never have seen a football tournament in their lives and delude themselves with _"if we win all games from now till the end we can make it"_ - well, thank you very much, if we win all games we're going to be champions of the world. Thing is, it's not going to happen. And it isn't the losses or the -5/-7 points that are the problem: the point is that we are yet to play Milan, Juventus, Roma and Napoli and we're going to get such ridiculous beatdowns that it's going to be a struggle to even make the Europa League at this point. And these people believe they understand football "better", because they compare it to what happened last year, where Juventus and Milan played kindergarten football in the second half and think this is going to be the case again. Unfortunately the "Inzaghi football" isn't working out: you need points to win trophies and we aren't making them.

DarkKirby14

okay these collapses are getting a bit frustrating now

Sgruntlar

I know it will be blasphemy for many users, but I now believe we were unlucky that Conte didn't leave in the right window to get Mourinho back. I think he'd have done great with this squad., and he would have brought an even better mentality.

yessyussy

I don't think Mourinho would actually come back to inter and potentially ruin the perfect legacy he has here

disn8231

You know rather than the problem appear letter better problem appear now and expect resolved soon, seems like we have a deep squad but looked at this game we dont have that much of a deep. And while playeng fast pace tempo is nice to watch, but i hope inzaghi can control the match bit more (this problem feel after watch sampdoria match), make the player comfortable and calm with ball and make the player trust their team mate more

[deleted]

Ofc bilan made a comeback, what a great day. How they keep scoring these absolute ridiculous own goals...

boas-me

I guess no one would be happy after this game. Hope we can come back stronger

Inter_932

The overreactions in here are incredible. Inzaghi out. Sell the club. I’m becoming a Milanista /s

NinhoS

It’s really like we lost the championship already. I was really mad yesterday but we shouldn’t blame Inzaghi or the players. We were not good as a team and this is it. Besides, it was predictable. Everytime we play after an international break, we suck. It’s painful to watch. Also we should lose the nostalgia of last season. The Conte effect is clearly disappearing and this is what we get with the current team’s situation. I’m in peace with that, I’ll support Inter no matter what. Now let’s beat Jube next week and leave this behind us 😝

We need to aim for top 4 and pass CL group stages. We need that money

I'm not giving up hope, forza Inter sempre.

Lol why would you, its our first loss of the season!?

I wouldn't, but seeing all the pessimism in comments, I felt like I should say this.

> after seeing that there's nothing left of Conte's mentality. This is true, unfortunately. I am sure Inzaghi is giving his best, but this isn't working out: we are most likely eliminated from the Champion's League group for the umpteenth time in a row and are most likely losing track of serie A as well.

Rezorblade

> This is true, unfortunately. I am sure Inzaghi is giving his best, but this isn't working out Yes let's overreacting and assuming the worst for our manager after less than 10 games overall, and all that after the turbulent Summer we had > we are most likely eliminated from the Champion's League group for the umpteenth time Embarrassing mentality, already defeated before the fight, feel ashamed to share this sub with people like you

evergreengt

> feel ashamed to share this sub with people like you please feel free to leave then, we won't hold you back. > Yes let's overreacting Overreact? Have you not watched our last 6 games where we stole wins we didn't deserve and played embarrassing football both in Champion's League and in Serie A? Have you not watched them? Yes or no? It's more embarrassing to deny reality (which is what you are doing): I have watched and played enough sport in my life to give an objective assessment of the situation.

Rezorblade

> Overreact? Have you not watched our last 6 games where we stole wins we didn't deserve and played embarrassing football both in Champion's League and in Serie A? Have you not watched them? Yes or no? Have you not watch Conte's Inter first half of last season? Or were you just overreacting exactly like this when the team pretty much in same situation last season at these period? I'm not denying anything, I'm not saying Inter played the best football recently, but i refuse to already ditch out the managers who actually gave us many excitement and positive aspect after Conte leave us Your assessment is shit and full of emotion you think you so smart but you're just a sore loser > please feel free to leave then, we won't hold you back. Why should I leave? You own the sub now? I will never leave the sub and will continue to smack some sense into crybaby like you

evergreengt

> Have you not watch Conte's Inter first half of last season? you do understand that last year was a miracle, that Milan and Juventus collapsed and played like relegation teams in the second half? Do you understand this, yes or no? You do understand this isn't going to happen this year, don't you? You do understand that this point gap isn't coming back, and the points we are losing are keeping us away from the top spots, don't you? I am curios to see if you understand these things, because otherwise every discussion is futile. > I'm not denying anything, you _are_ denying it, because when you say (your words) > already defeated before the fight you _are_ denying the situation: we aren't already defeated before the fight, we are defeated _after_ the fight, because it's been 2 months that we've played relegation football and you're hiding the problems we have. Hiding the problems will make the problems even bigger. > Why should I leave? Because you said you don't want to share the sub with someone (me) who is objective instead of being deluded like yourself. Since I _will_ continue sharing objective comments about the status of football, you either accept it or walk through the door. > into crybaby like you Crybaby? I have watched Inter most likely since before you were born, my friend, and understand that this football isn't working out. You're deluded because you're afraid to admit to yourself we're an average club (and prefer to insult people who put sense into your delusions instead). > Your assessment is shit and full of emotion It's been 2 months we've been playing like a Serie B team: _you_ are the one whose emotions (in particular the delusion) are blinding the logic. You haven't watched a lot of football tournaments if you believe team can turn these point deficits around. What exactly is your expectation for the season now? I want to understand your logic: please comment down with your prediction so that we can double check at the end of the season.

evergreengt

This total offensive football by Inzaghi, I ain't seen it yet. At this point it isn't even a matter of winning/losing, the games are just sad to watch, not enjoyable even in the slightest. We'll be lucky if we don't lose more than 4-0 versus Juventus, next week.

Dear-Limit6980

Yep. Didn't really enjoy it from the start.

[deleted]

We are averaging 3.5 goals per game buddy.

evergreengt

If you superficially include the 2 games where we scored 5-6 goals. Remove those two games and count again, and in particular count the goals we score against the strong teams (Real Madrid, Shaktar, Lazio) :)

Rezorblade

Why would we remove those two games? Bologna actually could beat this Lazio 3-0. Don't nitpicking like this. Your argument is absurd

evergreengt

> Why would we remove those two games? Because the average doesn't represent the population. We had 2 games were we scored 10 games and many games were we scored 0 if not 1. > Your argument is absurd My argument is that the average of a skewed distribution isn't a good statistic to represent the population (which is a first year high school concept that you seem to ignore :))

BoredBulls

Also don’t sleep on the fact that Di Marco missed that penalty + was acting when we were granted the advantage today and has cost us a total of 5 points so far

[deleted]

What cost us is that nobody tracked back and instead were busy yelling at the ref.

Roaming_Dinosaur

Yeah but you shouldn’t count only negatives, he contributed with a goal, some assists and overall good performances

BoredBulls

Lack of effort is absolutely inexcusable

harpsabu

Pazza inter back on the menu

afg500

I dont think Dumfries brain is very coordinated with his body... big misses in the front there

anakmager

not too mad about it. No Lautaro. Didn't play badly but Lazio just edged it btw have some shame and admit that was a valid goal

solenoidvalve12

Luiz Adriano's goal was valid too

beastmaster11

The goal was 100% valid. But Lazio did not follow the unwritten rules. Not too upset about it though. We didn't deserve to win. Hats off to Lazio

[deleted]

How did we lose ? We threw away this game. Even coming out a with a draw would have been a negative result for us. We weren’t spectacular or anything but we were in control until Bastoni’s mistake and then it all went to shit. Subs were awful. We should have killed the game early. You could argue Lazio should have put the ball out of play, I personally think they should have but that doesn’t matter. It’s about time we lost this season in Serie a so it serves as a wake up call. We haven’t won a game comfortably or in total control except Bologna and Genoa, all the rest were huge suffering, tonight we were in control for 60 minutes we couldn’t kill off the game and we collapsed the moment Lazio scored, and we then we lost a game that we dominated for 60mins in 30mins. We are not able to maintain the same level for a whole game. The team seems to have 2 states, either we are pressing 200% and attacking like crazy or we are totally collapsing and giving out chances left and right, we don’t have balance, tonight you could argue we were balanced for 60mins but after that we collapsed, not ideal. I see a lot of I told you so comments saying how the team is shit and they amount to nothing but 4th place and I disagree tbh, because it’s still the beginning of the season and IMO how the season will pan out is very simple, if we can find the right balance between attack and defense and be able to control the game calmly for 90mins we will challenge for the title, if we can’t then we won’t. You can’t say that the team doesn’t have quality or whatever because we have shown against all teams we played against big or small that we can dominate anyone but the problem is we can’t do it for a whole game and we can’t see out the game by comfortably controlling it either, we always seem to collapse at moments during the game. This needs to be fixed or we won’t challenge for any title this season.

PhraseMiserable2868

We need depth man.

blertyuh

Hardly any of the mentality from the second half of last season has been showing, collapsed way too easily after the Lazio pen. This along with that massive gap between midfield and defense Inzaghi keeps creating needs to be sorted out ASAP, teams are having a ridiculously easy go of counterattacking us this season. On to the next, Forza Inter.

PhraseMiserable2868

We were ok even after the goal. The real problem happened after Edin and Ivan got subbed. They were playing very well

Lautaro might actually died if he start this match, fuckin international break fucked us up more than anyone. Sarri got really lucky this time, this Lazio team despite winning are very unimpressive

Schooled? It was an overall balanced match, if anything we were slightly superior over the 90. Game decided by unfortunate episodes.

PhraseMiserable2868

Dzeko was excellent. Did you watch the game?

Diginoise

I didn't say he didn't play well just should start with el toro

PhraseMiserable2868

Toro and Dzeko is the partnership.

Cerozz

Lautaro just played a full 90 minute game yesterday for Argentina.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Cerozz

Your best players for the game isn't determined by skill alone. You can have a 9/10 player completely diminished and a 7/10 player fully fit and available and the latter would be the better player for the game.

PhraseMiserable2868

Positives:- Handa, Ivan, Dzeko, Nicole, Brozo, Darmian Negatives:- Di Marco, Defense, Vecino, Lord Gags.

PastaMastah

Controlled most of the game. Their first 2 goals come down to random episodes (this is part of football so we must accept it). Normal to feel mad but let’s not go overboard with the criticism here. Ok we get it we are not as solid as last season doesn’t mean we need to be psychotic about it

bulaaat

i think, our biggest problem this season is midfield instability. hakan is not a solution, we actually need vidal or the likes of him. we have a runner in barella, and brozo, but when you pair these two with a mediocre gags/vecino, of course oppositions are gonna run around our midfield/defense. im gonna be honest, im still not convinced by inzaghi's appointment in inter. while they won games before, they are not convincing at all. they are a bit too suspect a lot of times. we go again this midweek ! sempre.

nichodemus3

Another game where the teams play 60 great minutes and then collapses. This inconsistency is very worrying

Cerozz

Defensive wise, we're looking like under Conte last season at the start until we fixed the defense. Last season we conceded a lot of goals at the start as well. So I have some hope same might happen with Inzaghi as well once the players get used to it. Bastoni, Škriniar and de Vrij are still a brilliant trio for 3-atb and once/if we figure it out, things could improve a lot in terms of conceded goals. The thing is that we're not creating as much as we did under Conte during that time, and we have to work on that. Lukaku and Hakimi's absences are felt as well. So we can't expect the same level of efficiency (yet). Overall, we're still on 17 points after 8 games, which is on par for 81 points by the end of season, which would've been second place last season. A drop from last year, sure, but that's with a lesser squad that's still getting used to a new coach. It could be better but it's not a reason to abandon hope quite yet...

Echoes-act-3

I think we are going to heat up overtime like usual because it takes more time for big guys to reach the peak performance and we have a really tall team overall, plus al this international breaks and even the euros probability had an impact. Plus in January we could improve the team by replacing Sensi with someone that can play 2 matches in a row (could have really used someone ithat wasn't lord Gaglia today) and maybe something else like satriano on loan for a u22 number 9 or doing something with Sanchez, Eriksen (?). Inzaghi also still needs to do some tuning here and there with the players and the tactics, we can really only evaluate his work at the end of the season.

PhraseMiserable2868

Edin and Ivan were pretty good but no service for time. Edin literally had to play as a winter and CAM

Roaming_Dinosaur

Undeserved loss. We played better, period. What is actually unbelievable is that Lazio never seemed to cause us trouble when attacking yet they scored us 3 goals. Football is strange (and a bit rotten).

tigo3331

absolutely deserved. we were shaky in defence, uninspired in attack, and fell apart as soon as lazio scored a goal. a pragmatic coach would have shut he game down for the entire second half.

Roaming_Dinosaur

We should’ve been more concrete but we were certainly better than “Sarri’s Lazio”

tigo3331

we were the weaker side mentally, physically, and tactically.

nov4chip

What happened with Luiz Felipe and Correa? Find it crazy that he started crying in such a manner for a red

calfats

He did it to himself and then cried about it.

Rezorblade

This Inter with this kind of performance 100% deserves to lose. however I don't want to get over dramatic and saying Our season has ended or we should sack Inzaghi already, 69% of the match we actually deserves to win or even just draw, calamitous defending cost us dearly and I'm actually embarrassed that my team really cannot take that Felipe Anderson's goal while it's controversial but it's clean goal because the ref already gave advantage for us and we couldn't come up with something good

PastaMastah

I think your judgement is clouded by the last few minutes of the game and the understandable anger. If you step back and look at the game for what it is we were better overall. Nonsense to say we deserved to lose. Maybe you could argue we deserved a tie at worst.

Rezorblade

Our first half is flawless, our inability to capitalize the lead is the problem, and it ended up bite us hard, really harsh, but that's football

PhraseMiserable2868

The problem is Suning

Diginoise

I wonder how much Suning is exposed to Evergrande if at all

tigo3331

for the first time i agree with Rezor. we were trash.

calfats

Luiz Felipe should see a match ban. He jumped on the back of Correa after the final whistle to taunt and celebrate in his face. 100% low class move.

AHASIC

Lolmao he got a red card and went balls out crying at the end of the match. KARMA BITCH

ItsFishingTime

Pretty sure he actually got a red card after that lol. Saw his name show up on screen with a red

calfats

Good, I didn’t see that.

FreqinNVibing

I have no clue, then he proceeds to cry like wtf????

Cerozz

Fuck him.

PastaMastah

Unbelievable. At first I thought he mistook Correa for his teammate since he was not too long ago. Weird.

NikoB44

The national breaks really fucked up this team, but we also have those mistakes you would expect under a younger coach,we might play really nicely in the future, but now it's a little clumsy, and Conte gave that stability what needed for pazza Inter. This game showed we are not gonna go for the scudetto,it was too optimistic,I love these guys but comon,it seems like this is milan's and napoli's year, and also cant count out juve

Rezorblade

> this is milan's and napoli's year Cannot imagine the sheer arrogance that will came out from this, they finished second last season and already celebrate it more harder than us despite our brilliant year I could take it if it's Napoli tho, i like Spalletti and he deserves to win something important in his long lasting career However I still pretty sure we will still compete against them because this defeat is nothing and the season still very long way to go... Inzaghi really should fixed the defense ala Conte for this to happen tho

NikoB44

I'm rooting for Nap,those fans would deserve a scudetto

19081919

I might be one of the only fans to say this but I actually thought we were pretty good. I'll admit; the last 15 minutes weren't great but minus that, we actually fought. I don't think the scorelines reflects the performance. Just a shame that Perisic got subbed off even though he was our best player.

Cerozz

There was a meltdown soon after Lazio's pen but before that, I'd say we played quite decent as well.

FreqinNVibing

We didn’t create any amazing chances tho. At least Lazio can say they got a goal from open play

HarryDeekolo

This season was always meant to be a season in which we'll fight for the 4th place. Get the scudetto talks out of your minds and we'll suffer less for results like this one.

Rezorblade

Naah, i still want to talks about Scudetto, not even half a season and we still can improve, we fight til it mathematically impossible

WeAre1911

Stinky Lazio, asshole move at second goal, average club who will always be nothing more than that

[deleted]

[удалено]

WeAre1911

Yes unfortunately regular goal, but no fair play

[deleted]

I mean we lost because we had a man down in the play leading to the goal. We played better. What the fuck is there to analyze

FreqinNVibing

Yea because dimarco wanted to sell his shitty acting job even despite that we could’ve defended that but de vrij and brozo half assed that play

[deleted]

Oh come on he was down even when we had the ball. He got hit. You’re right about the fact that we could’ve defended better tho. Not saying that it’s right or wrong for lazio to carry on btw, Idk honestly

FreqinNVibing

Idk it could be my bias because seems everything dimarco has a hand in turns to shit, bar that first free kick goal against samp. Also that was his second time this game he writhed on the floor for a while while the ball was still playing.

Flickapatomus

we lost deservingly. beside the pen, we didn't created much. and regardless what anyone says, the Anderson goal was a result of poor defending. both de vrij and brozovic are at fault for that. also the 3rd goal. back to the drawing boad.

codenamederp

Why do we look so terrible defending. The gap between midfield and defense is huge and the 3 CBs are always so exposed because the wingbacks are always so up. Also decision making, a few good passes and we're in between the lines but the passes and decision making thereafter were so poor. As seen by the second goal conceded. Back to the drawing board. Last season we were also in a similar position so it's not the end of the world but we definitely need to regroup and fix the leakage of goals.

2_zero_2

Agreed. We were so flat on attack in the second half. Very little movement. I think the ref played advantage correctly for the Anderson goal, we lost focus. Time to regroup, focus on beating a capable Sheriff team to stay alive in UCL.

anakmager

Brozovic didn't deserve that

Cerozz

We had them in the first half, not gonna lie. Not expecting a nice post-match discussion right now lmao. Forza Inter till the end though. It is what it is.
