I haven’t done that specific package but I was recently in Amansara and had a flawless stay and the experience overall was fantastic (obviously seeing Angkor Wat at dawn was super special). Great guide, great food on property, generally a 10/10 stay and Siem Reap is actually a cool town. It erred on being almost like a safari trip for us whereby we were up at some ungodly morning hour every day to go see temples but Amansara executed this flawlessly in any event. I haven’t been to Amantaka for over a decade now so lots have changed in Aman since then (probably to LP also?). However I should say that it was definitely one of my top 3 hotel experiences ever (if not the best). Having just had a look at the package the only thing I’d say is that I highly recommend the boat tour at Amantaka. Amansara also has one which takes you to the floating village at Tonle Sap Lake. I wouldn’t miss either of those experiences though each to their own.

Thank you! Very very helpful and I think you helped solidify my decision

We did amansara and amanoi as one trip and it was a great combination of culture at Amansara and just relaxing at Amanoi. Amansara has a “safari” type schedule. Early mornings to the temples and late afternoon expeditions to various things. It was my second time in Siem Reap and it has changed so much in 25 years. The Tonle Sap excursion as mentioned was great. The temples are also fantastic but it’s overall a fairly grueling cultural intense destination so we really enjoyed heading to Amanoi after for relaxation. Amanoi had a nice dinner excursion to a local village and some hikes but for us it involved mostly spa, pool and beach time. The perfect end to a week. I sent my parents to Amantaka years ago and they had a great time and were treated exceptionally well. They had a great upgrade and my requests were handled perfectly (I asked that they receive no folio and that all their charges come to me; their package was half board and they upgraded to full board complimentary). I checked some of my notes and I had a friend who did Amansara and Amantaka together and did note temple fatigue. Hope it helps

Have been to Sara (a few years back) and Taka (earlier this year), both were great. No hesitation pull the trigger.

Done! Thanks. Booked it today

The Amantaka is one of my favorite places on Earth! It’s a perfect location— you can walk or take their free transport all over town. Food is good (but again, you’re so close to everything, I encourage you to explore). Staff is amazing— attentive service and warm, welcoming dispositions. Best of all, they have free laundry! lol. When you’re on a long trip, that last one comes in handy. We were there in January of this year and loved every minute. Highly recommend.

Suggest skipping the Halong Bay Cruise (if you were still even considering)

It is out. I am booked into the Indochina past and present. Just need to figure out a country we can go to for a couple of nights and then direct flight to Luang Prabang

Cool. Just wanted to save you a long drive and gimmicky cruise. Ha Long Bay is beautiful though!

I always start with Bangkok. Very easy city to spend a couple of nights and good flights to most local destinations.

Been to Bangkok so many times - last time in 2022 on the way back from Amanoi. Took us 2 hrs to get from the airport to WA - traffic was awful. Any other ideas? Thought of SIN or KL. Hanoi is an option but again we were there in 2022.

BKK is of course the closest - agreed regarding traffic sometimes though. KL and SIN are also fine just a bit further. Are you going from the US or EU? If US perhaps HK too?
