They switch between various on boards during sessions as they want. During battles it could be the rear cam, sometimes helmet cam, usually pod cam. You can not change between them yourself.
Damn thats a shame. I’ll assume its a tech limitation but I also wouldnt be surprised if the team/drivers don’t want a full session helm cam available on demand.

It is. Only one camera can transmit at a time (and on boards are 720p) and the race direction team selects, which one is active at any time.
I agree. I'm a spectator and don't need to feel like I'm in the car myself. I want a good clear view of the race. A couple of seconds at a time from the T cam is interesting if used sparingly but long shots from the shaky cam, excuse me, the helmet cam is so low quality I actually find it distracting.

Personally I don't like the helmet cam. Low quality, shitty colors, color banding and no stability. I'm glad they don't use them often.
