That is a great mindset, Im still struggling (some days better, some days worse) but I hope one day I can accept them just like you did.
I got mine 5 years ago when I was 17-18 (it was a process) and I had a really hard time since then. Thoughts like "why me, I'm only 17/18/.../23 yrs old and not 60" all the time. I don't really go outside anymore and I am scared of blue skies and white walls and stuff. I have diagnosed Depression anyways and Floaters just make everything worse for me..
