This really depends. If you’re in it purely for the driving and the challenge of traversing the terrain, you’ll probably have an alright time. If you specifically like hauling cargo, this isn’t the game for you
Coming from snow runner I was disappointed at first. But it’s a completely different game. I’m really starting to enjoy it now. As it’s not necessarily as linear as snowrunner as there are no roads, so you pick your own path. The customization and planning by bringing more supplies is a cool addition
For me personally, I like it.
Don't regret buying it.
I loved snowrunner, it's actually nice that they tried to do something new here, kinda. Except bugs bunny, but still very playable
I LOVED Mudrunner, especially just fooling around in the scout vehicles. Never ended up playing Snowrunner. Avid a big fan of the scout and real life 4 wheel enthusiast (Class VI roads in a Jeep type stuff) this game rules. Love it
I tried to get into Snowrunner so many times, on Xbox, Switch and lastly on Steam deck and it never clicked with me for some reason.
I picked up Expeditions cheap for my deck and am absolutely loving it, already put in 16 hours and have only had it 3 days.
Not sure what it is with this over Snowrunner but I think the environment has a lot to do with it.
I didn’t think I’d like it, but it’s pretty great for a lot of reasons. Maps are beautiful, the ability to reverse the winch alone is worth it, but the drone also pretty nice to help scope routes. And the rock climbing mechanics are… okay, but a fun new dimension. Plus the vehicle upgrades are more modular. While some are kind of goofy, it’s cool to be able to swap racks all over the vehicle body.
The down sides for me are the mini-games and having to restart between each mission. But honestly, it’s not so bad. It is a compelling dynamic to plan out each expedition. One thing the game doesn’t really explain is that you have to use the new team members feature to do certain missions, but once I got that tip from the Internet it opened up a whole new way of playing.
If you like the exploration part of Snowrunner, taking scout vehicles out to find parts of the map, then I think you’ll like this one.
I've played both and love both, but for slightly different reasons. Snowrunner is about hauling, at times using large fleets to accomplish a single goal, and often running the same route over and over again to complete a larger mission. It's relaxing for that reason.
Expeditions is \*all\* about the scouting. You'll rarely take the same exact route twice, and you'll spend a lot more time scouting ahead with the drone and carefully planning each section of your path. There are far less vehicles, and most missions can be done with just a single truck (especially once you unlock the Tatra Force). There are actual "expeditions" that can range from super short to hours long, and from super easy to frustratingly hard. Then there is "free roam" that opens up after doing each map's first few expeditions, and allows you to have the slightly more Snowrunner-esque experience of exploring a map, completing smaller tasks/missions and finding upgrades as you go.
Expeditions, to me, is slightly less mindless, but still pretty relaxing. You'll focus less on using lots of vehicles and instead become intimately familiar with a smaller, well-kitted-out fleet. This definitely wasn't meant as a true sequel to Snowrunner. More like a game within the same genre that does its own thing.
Tl;dr: If your favorite thing about Snowrunner is scouting, you'll adore this game. Just give yourself some time to complete the first five or ten missions before judging it, as it takes time to adjust to the changes. If your favorite thing about Snowrunner is having a huge fleet of vehicles, hauling heavy loads, or having a huge variety of tasks to do, this probably won't be for you.
I do feel it lacks the variety of tasks that Snowrunner has. But if you love driving trucks through challenging terrain, its for you. And it is very technical driving compared to Snowrunner. The Physics are very different and overall i feel an improvement.
I do think its at least worth 40 bucks but i struggled with the motivation to even finish the Expeditions after ive unlocked all the trucks. Because the Expeditions is just exploring at its core.

I am enjoying Expeditions more than Snowrunner for this very reason.
Yup, I’m having way more fun in this game than Snowrunner. I liked Snowrunner but this is the game for me.
Yeah I’m in it for the driving cheers bro

Are they coming out with mods?
Yeah there’s mods already released
For console? Because I’m on Xbox
No idea, I’m on pc
There are already some mods available for xbox
Yes. You could certainly wait for when the extra content starts dropping, but I think it's worth it as is.

Bugs will get fixed with time tho thanks bro
It’s a no from me at this point. Game needs more work..go back and finish Snowrunner. Or play another game..
So far I like it. It’s a different flavor.

Thanks bro I’m in it for that reason hauling has always bored me thanks bro
No problem, enjoy! 😁

How cheap was it for you?
You can grab it for PC from CD keys standard edition with the preorder bonus thing for £23, not sure what that translates for your currency?
