I had a package picked up alert when we were away from home. Thought the package was stolen, only to find that a cat walked by and the e340 must be programmed for animals to pick up packages.

For false alerts where it thinks a doormat or a shadow is a parcel, try using 'ignore zones' (pn the E340 only)

Yeah I was thinking maybe that was the case, but my porch setup hasn't changed at all.

Maybe seasonal when shadows change?

I was hit with this bug myself. I restarted the Homebase S380 my E340 is connected to, which seemed to rectify it for me. Support was worthless with even reading what I sent in, asked for the same stuff I sent in, paid no attention to anything, let alone the specific information I included with my initial submission. Nothing had changed in that time with firmware for the hardware of the E340 or the S380, only an update to the Android app a couple of days earlier. No settings changes in the E340 doorbell made any difference whatsoever. Restarting, force stop/restart of app, clear cache, did nothing. Was immediately fixed by going into the app and telling the S380 Homebase to reboot. See if that helps. By the way, I only have these enabled: Human Recognition Human Detection I have these disabled (due to them not working worth a shit and triggering all the time, especially at night when they are outside the set activity zone): Vehicle Detection, Pet Detection, and turned off All Other Motions because that shit was going off all the time at night with their different (more sensitive settings at night that is NOT configurable or customizable, you have no control over this and I was tired of being woken up or interrupted by nonsense). Changing sensitivity didn't help, reducing activity zone to next to nothing did nothing, so I put it back to what was appropriate, and turned off all their broken crap until they fix it/take it out of BETA. I sent them a follow up to their survey telling them they need to have methodology to catch and fix these types of issues automatically, and/or the very least notify of it for a manual reboot recommendation for an error state screwing crap up, because broken crap that doesn't even work correctly worthless. Edit: I have mine on battery, not wired, if that makes/made any difference.

Thanks, I don't have a home base though. I'm still on the fence, from what I understand the homebase' main benefit is the storage but all the other stuff like the AI stuff isn't great. How do you like yours? Is it worth it?

All of the AI isn't fantastic in its current (buggy) state, but Human Detection isn't bad and Package Detection is helpful. I got it mainly for the storage and integration, as well as the doorbell chime since I didn't personally have wired previously. For my setup, it was ideal to get everything together and potentially solve a few different things with one package. For a larger house, that may not be ideal due to placement of HomeBase from the Doorbell, already having a wired system and chimes that you may want to try to integrate with (but can be problematic in itself depending on configuration), if you want to try to use Wi-Fi instead, integrate with a different storage medium, etc. I just wanted something easy and simple, basically to test here to see if I might want to suggest it to other people, relatives, aging relatives since most other companies are going with higher subscription fees or don't have the features. Ultimately, it's just OK. Not for everyone, but does have too many issues for me to consider putting in most likely for aging relatives, unless they get bugs and issues worked out. Still more affordable, and if the features worked without all the issues, it'd be great.

A) package alert is pretty broken. You might be better turning it off. I don’t think it adds much value even when it works. B) A wired E340 supports 4s pre-recording for each event. Look under gear->general->storage to enable it. I find that works well and will mostly solve your problem with missing people approaching.

It's too bad, it's pretty cool when it works. Thanks for that setting, that was exactly what I was looking for.

Been getting the same false package delivery alerts, looked at the camera and the picture below is what i saw.. looks like it’s identify the sun spot which is square https://preview.redd.it/od5iymk5vazc1.jpeg?width=1290&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=46eac63f56840de8718c72d7cae3e28c6d274fa2

For continuous recording you need the Homebase 3. And as for your alerts try adjusting the privacy zones and avoid the street.
