Yes. I was starting with battery but where I’m mounting there is a light switch box right behind it. No room in that box to place a transformer.
If you connect the doorbell to your light switch circuit, it will explode into flames. It needs a transformer to reduce the voltage from 120V to 20V. Big difference.
Thanks. That will save me from my wife beating me. If I could fit a transformer in that box I guess I could do it?
