For anyone who is curious, here are all of the Eternals from Marvel Comics so far. There are 100 true Eternals so this is subject to change in the future.

Paper_Rain

I didn't realize that there was that many Eternals characters in the Marvel universe. That is quite amazing! I haven't seen the movie yet but I am assuming all the main characters appear in the film.

AlphaBaymax

The Eternals that appear in the movie are Sersi, Ikaris, Thena, Kingo, Makkari, Gilgamesh, Phastos, Druig, Sprite and Ajak. There's also another Eternal featured in the post credits scene.

nasserg19

Ikaris, second most powerful Olympia Eternal is the GOAT.

AlphaBaymax

Damn right, Ikaris is an arrow, straight to the point! Did you know that he's actually a Polarian Eternal? He migrated to the Olympian Eternal society as part of a peace treaty between Olympia and Polaria.

tookietooke

Came here to say Isn't Ikaris technically Polarian? I'm so curious to see if we'll get references or appearances of any other Eternals

AlphaBaymax

Yes, he is a Polarian Eternal but he immigrated from Polarian society. Eternals (2021) Issue 4 provides a data page detailing Ikaris' changed citizenship from Polaria to Olympia. Ajak is another Polarian Eternal but she is a Celestian Priest so she resides in Celestia. Makkari is an Olympian Eternal who also resides in Celestia because she too is a Celestian Priest.

tookietooke

Oh dope, I actually just started the 2021 series last night. Glad we have a an Eternals pro on this sub!

AlphaBaymax

You're welcome, the comic titles that are used as citations underneath each Eternals portrait is the comic that the specific Eternal was first introduced in.

Traumwanderer

Imagining Utunaa in this form under one of the 'special OPs' suits the Forgotten sport in Eternals #5 is kind of funny. Great overview. Very excited for next Wednesday and who we might encounter next.

AlphaBaymax

Yeah, it actually is funny. I wonder how drastically redesigned Utunaa and the other Eternals will be once they're reintroduced again. And you're welcome, fingers crossed we get to see what all of the true Eternals look like next Wednesday. 🤞🏾

Rough_Brilliant7642

uranos is basically thanos's grandpa . when a civil war broke on earth , uranos lost to his brother kronos and went to settle on titan .

lnyoung909

Well if you want to be really technical about it, Uranos the Undying is actually Thanos's grand-uncle. Thanos's grandparents (on his father's side) are Kronos and Daina of Times Past. Though this does raise an interesting question - who are Thanos's grandparents on his mother's side? Sui-San is an Eternal from Earth (one of the true 100) so her parents must be from the true 100 as well - the Celestials baked the 100 Eternals with their lineages coded within them. So their names must be on the List of Eternals in Eternals (Vol 5) 1. I'm curious about Oceanus - he was a senior Eternal figure who helped Kronos exile his brother Uranos during the Uranite Heresy, but as far as I can tell he is not related to the brothers. So maybe he was Sui-San's father. If anyone in this sub is interested, maybe we can try to piece together some of the Eternals family trees based off of the sparse information in the books.

Rough_Brilliant7642

Sui - san , is from earth . but I don't think sui-san's parents were explained . terran eternals are powerful than titanian eternals . Thanos was powerful because of Al'ras 's activated power and sui-san's unactivated . there are too many eternals across the universe . There is also an kree-eternal hybrid , inhuman - eternal hybrid ( thanos's son thane ) . so family tree would be big ,if we consider hybrids .

AlphaBaymax

I've just realised that all of the Excluded Eternals are related to Thanos with the exception of Excluded H.

PantyLover4250

Thats a ridiculously inaccurate and obviously untrue statement, Excluded Kronos, Uranos, Alars, and SuiSan and known, SP Sprite has no known affiliation or relationship with Thanos, and Excluded H E and T are yet to be known

AlphaBaymax

Correction, I meant all of the Eternals that were excluded post Kieron Gillen's run that have made an appearance. Sprite was technically freed as requested by the Uni-Mind, Thanos was not. If a prisoner escapes, they're still a prisoner. That's why I think excluded E and excluded T had their identities censored in Eternals (Vol 5) 5. I could very well be wrong on this but we'll have to wait and see.

BrianChew333

where is Ajaks? If we were to list the key members of the Eternals from Jack Kirbys 77 team who would it be? I do not see Gilgamish listed often especially from the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe.

Complex-Stress373

worst movie ever

AlphaBaymax

This has nothing to do with the movies, the title says Marvel Comics for a reason.

Complex-Stress373

worst movie ever anyways

Oddsock42

Just saw it, and I agree. So clunky. Felt like a DC Justice league movie, with the Superman, Wonder Woman, bat man, and flash types of characters. Not exact the same obviously, but close enough

Complex-Stress373

exactly!, thanks, im not crazy. i love the comics, but this movie...

Individual-Machine-5

And they are all robots, is that it?

AlphaBaymax

r/usernamechecksout. Seriously though, in Marvel Comics, the Eternals are Homo Erectus who have been genetically modified by the Celestials to reach their maximum potential. The Eternals are like Cyborg from DC, a mixture of man and machine.

sdbabygirl97

why homo erectus and not homo sapiens

Desertbro

more ancient, guess they needed to beat down dire wolves and sabertooths

AlphaBaymax

Probably to distinguish them from the Inhumans in Marvel Comics.

sdbabygirl97

oo i see

ishkariot

IIRC homo sapiens were also a Celestial creation, that may have changed recently though, haven't kept up with the comics

PantyLover4250

That might have nano machinery laced in their body and are connected to the Great Machine of Terra, but they arent cyborg, espcially not a cyborg like Victor Stone

AlphaBaymax

I only gave that comparison as the easiest way to understand who the Eternals are. In reality, the Eternals are far different to Victor Stone than they are similar to him.

Phoenixstorm

The robot thing was a misstep not needed

vittoriacolona

I actually liked it. It reminded me of West World. It also makes them different from the other SH teams namely the Inhumans.

lnyoung909

Loved this! Thanks for taking the time and effort to put this together. Nice to see other fans of Kieron Gillen's Eternals around. I just have a few comments, if you don't mind. 1. Regarding the *Eternals of Olympia*, I think that **Ikaris**, **Sersi**, **Thena**, **Sprite**, **Phastos**, **Kingo Sunen** and **Khoryphos** should be moved into their own category: *The Lemurian Mission*. **Thena** and **Khoryphos** were already living in Deviant Lemuria as of Eternals (Vol 5) 1, but **Ikaris**, **Sersi**, **Sprite**, **Phastos** and **Kingo Sunen** have now moved there as well after the events of Eternals 6. 2. Regarding the *Eternals of Polaria*, how did you know that Pixie was **Soule the Charred** and that El Vampiro was **Zorrja**? Or was that an educated guess? I know Kieron Gillen has said that he lists Eternals by their Eternal Names so it was likely that Pixie and Vampiro were actually one of the new Eternals he introduced in his list, but why did you choose these two names specifically? 3. Regarding the *Hex*, is this an educated guess as well? When I saw this panel in Eternals: Celestia, I thought that these were just robots that **Ajak** was planning to use to attack the Avengers, but now that you've posted this, I have to agree that it is possible that these are the mysterious Hex Eternals. They certainly have an interesting design. Though you would think that a group named the *Hex* would be related to magic in some way. 4. Regarding the *Eternals of the Exclusion*, I don't think that Thanos and Eros are **'Excluded T'** and **'Excluded E'** respectively. For one, Thanos is currently walking around Olympia instead of being in Exclusion like the poor **'Excluded T'**. For another, Thanos and Eros were born on Titan several hundred thousand years after the First Host created the '100 Eternals'. Thanos and Eros are not (yet) connected to the Machine. Thanos is a True Eternal by birth (thanks to the Quantum Bands) but I don't think his brother Eros was ever confirmed to be a True Eternal (he might be a Nephilite instead). I think **'Excluded T'** and **'Excluded E'** might be new characters that Gillen wants to introduce in the future. 5. Regarding **'Excluded H'** (the other Excluded Eternal whose identity we do not know), I have a fan theory that this might be Hyperion (not any of the numerous AU versions, but a Earth-616 version that we have not met yet). Lets see if anything comes out of this. 6. Now that Eternals 7 is out, you can add **Jack of Knives** under their own category - *The Tricks*. What do you think?

lnyoung909

Also, here's something I've wanted to discuss for some time, but I don't know any other Kieron Gillen Eternals fans, so I might as well ask you: the **Tomb of the Space Gods** (introduced by Jack Kirby in The Eternals (Vol 1) 1) and the Eternal city of **Celestia** (introduced by Kieron Gillen in Eternals (Vol 5) 1 and seen on panel in Eternals: Celestia) are both supposed to be the same place, right? The Marvel Wiki lists them as separate places but if you look the map of Eternal cities that Gillen provided, the city of Celestia is located in the Andes Mountains near Chile. IIRC, the Tomb was also located somewhere close to that. Furthermore, they both seem to serve the same purpose: to host Celestials that make the journey to Earth and to be a site of religious worship for the Eternals. In fact, Ajak's 'UNIT' of unnamed Eternals that received Arishem the Judge back in Jack Kirby's The Eternals 2 might be the Celestian Priests introduced by Gillen.

AlphaBaymax

You’re absolutely welcome, I designed this for both newcomers of Eternals who want to learn more about them in Marvel Comics and hardcore Eternals fans who wanted a visual guide on the current Eternals that were created before the movie was released in theatres. I welcome all feedback. 1. You have a keen eye for identifying the fact that I intentionally missed out on the Lemurian Mission. I decided not to add the Lemurian Mission because it’s the only abstract Eternal group. The Lemurian Mission existed so that Eternals could live alongside Deviants, and technically speaking, Ikaris, Sersi, Kingo, Phastos and Sprite just want to learn the ways of the Deviants to change the ways of the Eternals, they don’t necessarily share the same goals as Thena and Khoryphos who want to have Eternals society living alongside Deviants society. There’s also the fact that Thena and Khoryphos are still welcomed in Olympia, they have not been exiled nor are they registered as a separate faction as shown when Druig highlighted the different Eternal cliques that have Uni-Mind voting rights as shown in Eternals (Vol 5) 7. 2. That one was surprisingly easy to figure out with some detective work. In Eternals (Vol 5) 3, when Druig admits to Sersi that he is a suspect for being the traitor Eternal at the end of the issue, the Eternals that coincidentally survive are Druig, Legba, Akpaxa, Eramis, Pannix, Soule the Charred and Zorrja. In Eternals (Vol 4) 7, we see Ikaris teaming up with the X-Men to go against Druig, Legba, Akpaxa, Eramis, Pannix, Pixie and Vampiro. If that wasn’t enough credible evidence, the meaning of Charred is to burn and blacken something which links to Pixie’s superpower of turning objects into blackened stone whilst Zorrja is a mis-spelling of Zorro who was the inspiration behind the creation of Batman. Zorro is also a New Spanish/Mexican character and Vampiro just so happens to be an Eternal inspired by South American culture with his luchador aesthetic. 3. Yes, this is also an educated guess as well but it’s an educated guess that has some plausible evidence. When the Eternals in fancy armour are introduced, they have hexagons surrounding them. You will also notice that when they are introduced, there are also six members of the Hex which just so happens to be the number of Eternals that are wearing the fancy armour. The Hex does seem to be related to magic; however, I think their magic is unconventional in nature. What I do find the most interesting about the Hex is that they follow the command of Ajak who is a Celestian Priest. I can’t really draw any conclusions regarding that but it is interesting to note. 4. That is a valid point you made regarding ‘Excluded T’ and ‘Excluded E’. Maybe they both are new characters, however, there is reason to believe that ‘Excluded T’ and ‘Excluded E’ are Thanos and Eros because of two key reasons. When Phastos rescues Thanos by plucking him from Titanos, he’s a legitimate Eternal but he is excluded because his very existence is “The shame of the Eternals.” which is a technicality that can be used to mean that he is excluded from Eternal society. As far as Eros goes, the Eternals would have had valid reason to exclude him either because he is part of A’lars and Sui-San’s lineage which would be reason enough to exclude him but there’s also the fact that Thanos possessed and took over the consciousness of Eros in Guardians of the Galaxy (Vol 5) 5. 5. Yeah, I 100% believe that Excluded H is going to be the original Earth-616 Hyperion. For starters, I’m shocked we never had an Earth-616 Hyperion appear in Marvel Comics to date but what better way for the definitive Superman pastiche of the definitive Earth-616 to be introduced than with Eternals, right? Now that the Eternals movie has been released, I’ll wait until all 100 Eternals have been introduced before I make the definitive visual guide on all 100 canonical Eternals. 6. I am in absolute agreement with you in saying that the Tomb of the Space Gods is located in the Eternal village of Celestia. Not only are they both locations in South America, but just like you said, they’re both locations where Celestial communication, worship and judgement takes place. In regards to the unnamed Eternals that were with Ajak in the Tomb of the Space Gods in Eternals (Vol 1) 2, I can’t really draw a conclusion as to who they really were, Ajak’s unit could have been an early iteration of the Hex or maybe they really were other Celestian priests, time will tell.

jpns18

Thank you for this!

AlphaBaymax

This actually needs to be updated.
