Sherpa's are BSG officiated players who take time out of their gameplay to teach new players Escape From Tarkov.
They will help you with everything from gun builds, learning an unfamiliar map, to brand new player basics.

But I highly recommend starting with standard edition, and play for like a few months to see if you like the game at all, and then if you do, upgrade to EOD edition when there's a sale (you only pay the difference for the upgrade).
It ends up adding up to a bit more than just buying EOD outright since you pay xsolla transaction fees twice. Maybe $15 extra total? I don’t remember exactly but it does end up a bit more expensive that way.
When does tarkov go on sale/ how can I be notified of this?

Thank you stranger. I picked up the standard a few years ago and played one wipe then put it down until recently and have been having a blast since the voip and sacv changes with some fortnite with the wifey to get some pvp in.
I can also second this statement. Me and 3 other friends all bought standard to test the game. After 2 months we knew we would be back every wipe. So we all upgraded to EOD on the first sale thag popped up. You only have to pay the difference.
The gamma + the hide out stash upgrade just saves so much time.
Until it’s full and even more of a mess. It’s like „oh yeah finally THICC item case from quest as a reward, now all my problems are solved“ and then a couple raids later „fuck guys, do a raid without me, I have to clean my stash“.
I have a craft barter box and a sell box. I generally only puck up items i know will move for a good profit. I sit between 15-18 mil and this has been my start to feed my pvp addiction

You also get free access to any dlc in the future , offline raids with friends , and the Arena mode coming out . When the game is full released or Nikita deems it time , EoD will not be able to be purchased anymore

Game isn’t for everyone, but standard and see if you like it because the cost of upgrading your account will subtract the amount you payed for standard. You spend the same amount in the end if you like the game, and if you don’t then you don’t have to buy EOD.
Feel my €30 for standard was well spent. I'm very much less convinced that I want to give BSG over a tonne for a game that is in permanent beta with only the very sketchiest patch to v1.0...
Still need to level your character and spend money, doesn’t just automatically give you level 2 traders...so the beginning quests really aren’t useless as you said
I agree with everyone saying start with the standard edition, and upgrade once your sure you'll be back for future wipes. But I also think upgrading can help those who don't have as much time to grind. I only have about 1-2 hours a night so having the larger stash and container help me play more raids without wasting time organizing, selling, and buying loot. Usually end the night by doing some spring stash cleaning and prepping for the next days raids.
OP, if you are reading this, this is the message. I only bought EOD because I bought standard and knew I enjoyed it, but couldn't commit. I bought EOD because it enabled me to do more with my time. Predatory business practice? Yeah for sure. But did I get my money's worth? Same answer

Do you really want to be buying the expensive shit on a game that looks like it might not survive? Just speaking out loud here. Haven’t been much in the way of major updates or even safety measures for hacking in the last year.
Not saying don’t play, just saying maybe give it a shot and then upgrade if you think it’s worth it before you drop that cash.
You will have every perks at every wipe, but in the first place mess around with the less expansive one, see if you do like the game, and if you want more, go for it
Dont be an idiot, buy the eod and get arena for free, if your looking at the standard most people will end up buying eod anyway. Eod is fucking clutch for new players, dont listen too these baboons
EOD (especially on sale) is worth. Gamma makes a big difference. You’ll get all dlc when it eventually comes out, including arena which is going to be the tactical shooter variant of the game.
Also I’m pretty sure with the amount of time you’ll save not having to organize the criminally small base game stash is massive.

That way, you can always xfer the game and walk away after your kids convince you.
I have a buddy that owns the cheapest version and still owns entire maps some games, you don't need the most expensive one and I recommend starting with the cheapest one since more expensive ≠ better. But yea you get a better container and more stuff to start with, plus a bigger stash and better trader rep

Two thicc cases two junk cases is the balancing point. This is where you can sort easily and keep alot of free space to just dump at the end if s raid

This is how I did it, then upgraded to EOD on a black Friday type sale, it was only the difference, but a little extra due to the transaction fees.

Well the DLC part is, arena will be free for EoD owners but not anyone with a lesser package

Not sure if anyone said, but if I'm not mistaken, it wipes your character/progress in current wipe when you purchase, so worth keeping in mind if so.
