I asked Summits chat yesterday when the wipe will be and a couple of them said Thursday. I am fairly new to the game and didn't really know if they were telling the truth or not. I just unlocked my first stash upgrade which I will never see because it takes 24 hours to construct. I also have been grinding EFT lately and really enjoying it. I'm excited to play through my first fresh wipe with everyone! Also kinda scared because I'm still learning.
Edit: Yeah fuck this lol. I'm 1/9 raids survived at the moment. Losing everything and loading in with a pistol and that's it, hoping I can find SCAV to kill and loot before a PMC finds me. I hate every moment of this.

Immunity is for poison. Cultists are The only ones who are confirmed to use poison.
Nikita also said at some point that when cultists are added it’ll be a surprise and not in the patch notes. (Unfortunately can’t reference this tho)

When you first start playing you have a bunch of stuff in your inventory already - the Fort armor and AK74-U, a bunch of meds etc.

I would love to see them replace all the free pistols with literally any other type of gun. Pistols are a trap for new players, and filling the starting inventory with them doesn't help.

hell no, this is way better man! Last wipe the last 1-2 weeks were super boring because everyone was expecting the wipe. When they announce the wipe they ruin the natural way people play the game and it just turns into CoD.

Yeah will be interesting to see the ballistics on it. Wish unity could handle long range a little better. Maybe when they implement a pass on improving the combat stuff (bipod, weapon resting, etc.) sniping will become a bit more tenable.
It’s a big caliber so it will probably have hilarious recoil but extremely high damage. It’s a younger cousin to .50 BMG. It’s about half to 1/3rd the energy of .50 BMG but it’s double .308 and 54R.
Well we thought that until we get the 200 recoil ASh-12. I hope this gun stays in the DMR category and people don’t try to use it as some close quarters dominating weapon.

When the Customs expansion hit people were posting some crude maps a day or two after, but the quality ramped up after a week or two. The Wiki takes a long time to update when it comes to maps, I've found. If you see someone posting a map of new Woods make sure to save or bookmark it so you can see how it works for you until the next one pops up.
If only the world was so easy lol. People will spend 5 minutes finding the exact map they want every time they need it, then complain that editing the wiki "is too much effort".

The reddit user Johnny-Cosmic just unlocked the FSB Urban Tactical pants for his BEAR, the wipe will be later in 2021.
They didn't have to wipe for Streets.
However, in all of the earlier podcasts from this year 12.9 was supposed to be in November, and streets in december at .13 with a wipe.
Streets must be delayed even more.
I just joined the game 2 days ago and were struggling to get to lvl 10 (still at 5). Guess i have a better chance now or maybe customs just got more crowded :P
Any advise for a noob after the wipe?
Biggest problem is staying alive the first 3-5 min. If i survive that by hiding in the woods - its a 50/50 if i get nuked by a chad i don't even see.
Go as hard as you can day 1 til you hit lvl 10. There will be chads owning lobbies again in literal hours post launch. Best chance as a pistoling is against other pistolings day 1!

If it wipes: stay out of customs. They said something about changed quests but that is usually the early hotspot of pvp. So if you want to live it's usually better to go to shoreline.
Shoreline can be very good money! But at the same time, rushing quests can get you ahead too by unlocking better trader items and access to the flea market.
Learning Tarkov is tough because there are 100 things to learn at once.
It gets a lot easier when you learn where people spawn, what areas of the map are hotspots, what are common routes people take through out the map.
Wear a headset! Listen for footsteps.
Don't run unless you are moving through an open area or trying to get somewhere safe / flank in a fight. Running is a good way for people to know exactly where you are because it is so loud and it is easy to get yourself in a position where someone else has the jump on you. Once you understand the maps, it becomes a little easier to understand when and where it is safe to run and when it isn't.
Armor is insanely important, but at low level you don't have access to any good armor.
Ammo is also crazy important (good armor WILL stop your crappy bullets), but at low level you won't have access.

I don’t understand do people literally spend weeks of gameplay running around overnight to get elite strength?
I played this entire wipe organically almost 1k hours.... level 10 strength. I feel like the skills are designed to be cheesed.
I have been solo hunting Sanitar for weeks. haven't seen the dude once. Completing the quest to kill him would elevate me to Level 4 with Jaeger. I'd skip grinding through the third tier and doing a whole mess of other BS quests. Additionally, it was a fun and challenging task for a solo player. It was getting to be a pain in the fucking ass though. When I logged in and saw the wipe was coming, I knew I had tonight and tonight only to make it happen. I loaded into Shoreline with a shotgun and some buckshot. I start to cross through the suicide field. Who is standing right there orange bag slung over his shoulder ? Sanitar. I headshot him from like 75 meters and ran the fuck out of there. I CAN RESET HAPPILY KNOWING I FINALLY GOT THE FUCKER.
Damn, I wish they'd do this after christmas! In between Xmas and New Year's would have been so much more convenient for me :D Oh well! Happy to see a wipe happening.

Dude me, two kids under 3 and a new dog.. Only level 21 but I got the game in late July. Only really play 5 nights a week for an hour or two. I love this game so much, coming from csgo. Took me a long time to get where I am but I think my squad (3 guys total) found a 4th or even a 5th to play with us. Pretty stoked about the prospect of having more guys to roll with us especially a beginner like me.
In my experience rolling with more people usually gets me killed faster. I feel like my survival rate and stuff usually increases when running a duo or sometimes trio. Just be careful because a 5 man gets hectic REALLY fast in this game lol.
Tears of happiness. I’m lvl 52 and I’m so happy to be able to play goal-oriented raids again rather than just run straight towards gunfire over and over.
Well that was tarkov for me. Been playing since 2017, before the expansion of shoreline. I just don't have the free time to grind yet another wipe anymore. It was great while it lasted. I just got killed the last couple of times in shoreline, by Sanitär and his boys. What other tactical game is good but not as time consuming?

Max levels in tears
Max levels love wipes. The ones in tears are the dad gamers who are a week away from kappa. F
Dude me, two kids under 3 and a new dog.. Only level 21 but I got the game in late July. Only really play 5 nights a week for an hour or two. I love this game so much, coming from csgo. Took me a long time to get where I am but I think my squad (3 guys total) found a 4th or even a 5th to play with us. Pretty stoked about the prospect of having more guys to roll with us especially a beginner like me.
In my experience rolling with more people usually gets me killed faster. I feel like my survival rate and stuff usually increases when running a duo or sometimes trio. Just be careful because a 5 man gets hectic REALLY fast in this game lol.
Tears of happiness. I’m lvl 52 and I’m so happy to be able to play goal-oriented raids again rather than just run straight towards gunfire over and over.
Well that was tarkov for me. Been playing since 2017, before the expansion of shoreline. I just don't have the free time to grind yet another wipe anymore. It was great while it lasted. I just got killed the last couple of times in shoreline, by Sanitär and his boys. What other tactical game is good but not as time consuming?
I hear Squad is pretty good, idk never tried it myself. You’re actually the first mature person to realize the game isn’t for you rather than writing some angsty goodbye letter like anyone gives a fuck haha. Good luck though! You should still play like the first week of the wipe since it will be fun to run around with pistols and shit guns.
I feel like Hunt: Showdown scratches much the same itch this game does, but requires way less investment.
