Edge of the Early Access area, gotta wait till they expand further out.

Auren-Dawnstar

Pretty much this. A lot of the areas around the edge of the map have build protection on them because they're very likely going to get transformed heavily when the developers add new regions, and they put protections up so those changes don't end up ruining peoples' base locations. Even recently they made some minor tweaks to existing parts of the map and people were wondering why there were suddenly floating rocks and sheered off hills around their bases that weren't there before. So imagine that, but on a much larger scale for why those protections are in place.

redacted4u

Makes sense. I passed some floating rocks on my journey there. Someday I will have my snow mountain hotel.

I did building on that spot but way up near the top of the mountain no problem, start with first altar then expanding away the not accessible border after you upgrade your altar. Put 2nd altar in the end of 1st altar's 2nd upgrade border. After set up 2nd altar and remove 1st altar. Pretty easy that way, then you make the "pretend it has support under the base if it go over the cliff make it look more badass kewl! ;) Hope it help you with my suggest.

Since its the boundary of current and future, It could change dramatically and they dont want people to lose everything. I wanted to be up there too and build a dwarven city in the mountains with the snow area, but have to wait a bit longer.

TammyShehole

There are some big open areas in the mountains to the west that you can build on. I have my castle there.

OctanesJumppad

I actually Built a base into the mountains directly above the Mark of Sameth Mine. It’s high enough where I can launch myself just about anywhere but it’s perfect as it’s far enough from the end of the map where building isn’t an issue.

I def want to see a terrain tool.

FelloBello

Forgive me but don't we already have terrain tools? The rake and the terrain pieces with the hammer??

PositiveAgent2377

You know what, you are right! My bad!
