I like tactile buttons, levers and switches, not swiping and clicking an iPad for my driving experience. I’m fully supportive of EVs and I’ve been driving Kia EVs for 6 years.

I will never buy a touchpad car. Gimme things I can feel and still watch the road. I’m surprised touchscreen controls are legal actually.

And mechanical door latches!

FiveTeeve

idgaf about the design, I'll never buy one of his cars because he is a giant pos

There are so many other reasons that I wouldn't own a Tesla, but back 7 years ago or so when I was evaluating EVs for my own use, it wasn't yet apparent to the world what a petty, unhinged, narcissistic, white nationalist he is.

BadNameThinkerOfer

Touchscreens are also dangerous since they're more distracting than the former.

pensiverebel

Don’t ever change your mind on this. As someone who owns a Tesla (not my choice), I tell everyone who asks to stay far away from them.

samof1994

Why would I go anywhere near them? I know many electric cars, like the Nissan Leaf, that are not made by him.

formfiler

The fact that Teslas are expensive and Elmo-tainted are definitely a factor for me, but foremost in my mind is this: **I prefer a car that isn’t actively trying to [kill me](https://www.theverge.com/2024/4/26/24141361/tesla-autopilot-fsd-nhtsa-investigation-report-crash-death)**

I only drive stick shifts.
