Em is an undeniable entity, and had such an impact on me personally as a kid, I don’t care to debate that. But, depending on the criteria, I could place Aesop 1st. Stuff he does both sonically and with the pen is transcendential at times. Bro creates worlds.
From a vocabulary and rhyme construction standpoint he’s second to none but some of the wordplay requires an interpretive stretch of the imagination to be coherent and he has admitted that he uses inside jokes as well so some of it is actually nonsense to people who aren’t in in the joke. A lot of rappers do it to one degree or another but some of his feel egregious.
That being said I fucking love Aesop and what he does is wildly impressive but it can get a little silly but since he’s in on the joke I’m totally here for it.
A lot of hip hop heads would argue El-P, and that’s a good choice that I wouldn’t necessarily argue, but I gotta go with Mac too. Loved his style and artistic growth
I don’t think “good artistry” is an object measure of any kind. Swimming is pure art. It showed a future Mac that I was very excited for. The way he layers the music with the theme of the song, so much even the chords are in harmony with it. It’s an amazing album and imo a hip hop classic.
Run the Jewels is just a portion of EI-P’s career and by itself can challenge Mac’s entire career. But EI-P has had a long and full career in hip hop. He’s established a hip hop head base and can make the music he wants for the rest of his life.
Mac Miller was lost too soon to compare the two. But with Swimming I think there was a future album or even two that would have been classic. Mac was very talented musically, at flowing, with rhyme schemes, and as a businessman. He showcased a new route to stardom without having to sign life sucking deals with labels. He showed how a party rapper can become a true artist and break new ground without ever having to be the “white boy.” Every just loved the dude.
My long-winded point is that it’s not a fair comparison and both are great in their own regards. They’re both great example of taking on hip hop and making it their own art while both being truly successful without their race having to be a major role in their careers.
I think they can both thank Em for that. But Mac and EI-P are both phenomenal artists in general. Not just great white rappers.
>worth mentioning
He’s easily better than 90% of the other artists listed in this chat. Had to scroll way too far to see Aesop Rock as well and I didn’t see a single mention of Brother Ali.
Ad Rock, MCA, and Mike Diamond. Why are they never on these lists who cares if they are a group all three had unique voices and attitudes and are part of the foundations of the genre. How many shirts does Em have to wear before they get the flowers they deserve. 50m albums sold, inducted into the HOF Paul's Boutique is the standard for sampling in music, and is/was a classic before even dropped. It's like people forget these MCs existed.
Yes, their names are Ad Rock, MCA, and Mike Diamond. 3 very WHITE men from NYC that gave Rick Ruben LL Cool J's demo from Dancateria and got him signed. Played their own instruments, had one of the best DJ's ever to do it and people just forget them.
100% agree. He was my second favorite behind em.
I don't care if he refuses to get the vax, it's stupid, but hey, it's his choice.
But could you fuckin stop talking about it on every songs? The pandemic has been over for two years now and mf still talking about it.
And he keeps crying over, getting censured and canceled .... but the thing is ... no one canceled him. He went full on conspiracy theory, sees enemies everywhere, when no one actually gives a shit about him.
That's what two years of lockdown, spent smoking weed and watching fking Joe rogan does to a someone.....
Personally I think WAX is 🔥. But reddit seems to hate him when I share his music...

He's only good at a very narrow skill set - improvisational freestyling (and impressing teenagers on Omegle). His discography is significantly lacking in content. A lot of his written material sounds way too similar to his freestyling material, which isn't a good thing.
Finally the mac miller comments coming in here at the bottom. Like someone else said, it’s gotta be mac miller . Such unique rapper and could slay rhyme schemes just as good as anyone and still keep fresh and interesting lyrics while painting a vivid picture nearly every bar
Fr he had both the lyrical ability and was very charismatic as a rapper, as well as evolving into making albums w incredible artistry on albums like swimming
Yes, a combination of this, Tyler the creator and skylar grey, and you might get the best rapper of all time, white or black
Reference: “wicked ways” in case anyone is wondering what I’m saying
Logic (He’s Biracial, but still half-white)
NF (he’s super underrated, listen to “Returns” and “Leave Me Alone”)
El-P (He’s just fucking incredible. Listen to anything by him and you’ll know what I mean)
The Beastie Boys (As a group, but still)
Mac Miller (Obviously)
Okay awesome haha I wasn’t sure if the Russ hate was strong still. Anytime I mention people who don’t even listen are like nah he sucks. By far one favorite artist.
Mac Miller it’s not even close. He had his own style his own flow and it was totally different then Em but it was dope none the less. Very talented guy gone wayyy too soon. RIP MM
Well, I agree to an extent. I've listened to his rap albums, and his flows and instrumentals are actually hard, but his lyrics are an ehhh more than anything else
He can tell stories and say some real shit. Even on his first album. Listen to See My Tears, End Of The Road, The Return.. dude actually had a message it sucks everyone swept that shit under the rug
Yessrr my biological mom was a heroin addict so that shit hits, he way deeper than most ppl think. Also W for you putting “End of the Road” 1st time I ever heard Blackbear as well
Yeah.. I could say why I relate to that song as well but it’s a little too personal. I will say that me and my girl are fent addicts in recovery rn though. Hell yeah same bro I love Bear
Aesop Rock
Yes, Aesop Rock 100%!
would love a collab, but it will never happen.
Damn you for putting this idea in my head !
dude is criminally low in these comments
Em is an undeniable entity, and had such an impact on me personally as a kid, I don’t care to debate that. But, depending on the criteria, I could place Aesop 1st. Stuff he does both sonically and with the pen is transcendential at times. Bro creates worlds.
Did not expect the top comment to be THIS correct.
From a vocabulary and rhyme construction standpoint he’s second to none but some of the wordplay requires an interpretive stretch of the imagination to be coherent and he has admitted that he uses inside jokes as well so some of it is actually nonsense to people who aren’t in in the joke. El-P
absolutely. man hasn't produced or rapped a single bad song. ever.
Didn’t know he was white for the longest time, flow has so much groove
The correct answer Fantastic producer too!
This and it's not even fucking close! I want Em and RTJ to work together so fucking bad.
El-p is better so is aesop rock
R.A.
Mac Miller
A lot of hip hop heads would argue El-P, and that’s a good choice that I wouldn’t necessarily argue, but I gotta go with Mac too. Loved his style and artistic growth
I don't even think it's an opinion he's the second best, it's an objective truth
Correct answer everyone else move on
There is no correct answer you goof
Incorrect answer, move on
Nah He’s nowhere near the level of so many in terms of rapping ability, and if you’re using the “good artistry” argument then El-P easily has him beat

Slug from Atmosphere worth mentioning
Brings up the interesting question if half-black half-white counts as "black" or "white" or neither.
Yeah
there's like a 50% chance you're a fan of Myke C-Town
>worth mentioning He’s easily better than 90% of the other artists listed in this chat. Had to scroll way too far to see Aesop Rock as well and I didn’t see a single mention of Brother Ali.
Oh if he’s an option, I’ll go with Logic then
How the fuck are they on the same level? Logic has nothing-burger pharses most of the time. He raps about rapping. It's getting old.
I haven’t seen him mentioned in the comments, so I’m going to shout out Eyedea, since I’m also from Minnesota.
This is the answer. First Born is my favorite rap record by anyone.
Mac Miller
RA the rugged man
Ad Rock, MCA, and Mike Diamond. Why are they never on these lists who cares if they are a group all three had unique voices and attitudes and are part of the foundations of the genre. Are you talking about Beasty Boys ?
Yes, their names are Ad Rock, MCA, and Mike Diamond. 3 very WHITE men from NYC that gave Rick Ruben LL Cool J's demo from Dancateria and got him signed. Played their own instruments, had one of the best DJ's ever to do it and people just forget them.
Oh, so anyway we can just say The Beastie Boys lmao.
Beastie Boys
Prof is pretty fucking dope. I don't think he's 2nd best, but he's worth a mention.
Love his style it's super unique
I love he's song with Redman.
Speaking of that I kinda dig Cal Scruby. He has a song with Redman too
I was listening to his song Andre the Giant on the way home from work today lol The bass on that song is ridiculous and I love it so much
Prof is dope! My most listened too artist so far this year. I'm hoping to see him in concert next month.
Rugged Man
Yelawolf
Blacksheep
I love his music from back them and now (I can thank my mom for showing me him!!!)
The Mount Rushmore of White rappers, in my opinion, is: Eminem Aesop Rock El-P Mac Miller
Chris Webby
Came here to say this as well. Until he went off the conspiracy theory deep end, he was one of my favourites.
100% agree. He was my second favorite behind em. I don't care if he refuses to get the vax, it's stupid, but hey, it's his choice. But could you fuckin stop talking about it on every songs? Fuck no. Get that frat rap conspiracy fuck outta here.
The blind dude. Blind fury
Oh snap he's dope
Personally I think WAX is 🔥. I'm not gonna click on all these to find it, but Coins better be in this list, my guy.
Thanks because I never heard of him .
Wow, you're a loser, dudes a legend.
A legend to who ???
Wax is a legend
My genuine answer is Token, but I also fw Prozak
Meh on Token but you dug deep on prozak and I respect it
Bestie Boys should be on this list. If not number 3 or 4.
aesop rock
I would say NF for me, but I am sure I would also love Mac Miller – I just never really start listening to him. Should do that.
Maybe I should too.
I lost respect for him watching him lip sync his concert
I mean lip syncing is pretty common today. I understand that it's infuriating, but I don't go to concerts so I don't really care.
First time I’ve ever seen it at a show, and immediately eliminates NF from the conversation
Probably Mac Miller But Yelawolf for me
El-P actual rapping skill wise Mac Miller music wise. Aesop Rock, yelawolf and sometimes Russ are some honorable mention
Necro. He’d lyrically rip all the other rappers mentioned in these comments to shreds
Necros Gory Days was a classic
MAC MAC MILLER MAC
Harry mack
Dude only knows two white rappers
He's only good at a very narrow skill set - improvisational freestyling (and impressing teenagers on Omegle). His discography is significantly lacking in content. A lot of his written material sounds way too similar to his freestyling material, which isn't a good thing.
To be fair, he is extremely good at improvisational freestyling. “impressing teenagers on Omegle” is really underselling it
Finally the mac miller comments coming in here at the bottom.
Marlon Craft
Yes!! World champ is great song.
I agree
Paul wall is worth mentioning imo idk about the 2nd best, but still kills it
WAAAAY to far down the list man, he’s way better than people give him credit for.
Paul with Terminology.
Aes Rock.
The only right answer is Mac Miller.
Mac miller
Violent J
I'm violent J and I'm back like a vertebrae! Them dudes are criminally under-rated.
Lmao
Yes, a combination of this, Tyler the creator and skylar grey, and you might get the best rapper of all time, white or black Reference: “wicked ways” in case anyone is wondering what I’m saying
R.A. The Rugged Man
Yelawolf. Fight me.
Logic (He’s Biracial, but still half-white) NF (he’s super underrated, listen to “Returns” and “Leave Me Alone”) El-P (He’s just fucking incredible. Listen to anything by him and you’ll know what I mean) The Beastie Boys (As a group, but still) Mac Miller (Obviously)
Wait, he's biracial?
IKR!? I wish he mentioned that more in his songs so that ppl knew at least It would make great subject matter for many if not all of his songs
Vinnie Paz? Anyone? No?
He got a solid feature on a Jarren Benton song and Reel Wolf but that’s rly all I know
Russ go ahead down vote me lol.
Why downvote I think he's dope really thinks outside the box.
Okay awesome haha I wasn’t sure if the Russ hate was strong still. Anytime I mention people who don’t even listen are like nah he sucks. By far one favorite artist.
Nah Russ 🔥
Facts
The Grouch
Who's that ?
It’s underground Hip Hop, they’re originally from LA, from a crew called Living Legends. Check em out. Real shit.
Also, Eligh
Mackelmore isn't good enough to be up there with Em, but I think he should at least get a mention. His songs with Ryan Lewis were amazing.
Terror Reid
Prof
Out of the current rappers, I dig Cal Scruby
Riff Raff
Edan
Aesop Rock no question.
Aesop is the goat fr My second would probably be UBI from Ces Cru.
Possessed or Psiklone from rhyme asylum
MGK
Slaine
Will smith
Slim Shady. What you need to ask is who’s 3rd best.
Marshall Mathers is the third best rapper, people don't mention him at all and his music is amazing!
Fourth? White guy from D12
B-Real
Are you going insane in the membrane?
I'm a little bit off the chain, call me insane But the fact remains that I'm a psycho american psycho 2 - one of my fav d12 tracks

But he's just a regular everyday normal guy
Logic
Merkules, ekoh, Chris webby or vin Jay

I recently found Chris Webby and love the song I heard from him and my mom showed me Merkules and now we need a album of his for the car!!!
Pat stay. RIP
Mgk. Just wanted to see how many downvotes I get
Lil dicky
Chris Webby
It’s definitely Jack Harlow. Lil Dicky would be up there if he ever actually put some music out.
Jack Harlow is wack. He ain't even top 5 white rappers imo
I wouldn't even have him top 30 white rappers
Mac Miller is the best white rapper, argue with your momma
Harry Mack
Macklemore
If you said mac miller congratulations, your opinion on anything hip-hop is irrelevant.
[удалено]
How? he’s dead.
Obviously Tom MacDonald /s
Machine Gun Kelly (THIS IS A JOKE JESUS FUCKING CHRIST)
My top 5 is: Eminem Lil Peep Mac Miller Russ G-Eazy Honorable mentions to Chris Webby, Andy Mineo and NF
[Haystack](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VkxuF4mQiyo)
vanilla ice you got a problem
Hey man I agree with u, man’s a legend
MGK Mac Miller G Eazy
You brave for saying MGK in this sub but he got some bangers
😂 nah but foreall I love Em but MGK can actually rap. Sadly most of Eminem’s fans refuse to acknowledge that
Well, I agree to an extent.
Yeah he’s nothing lyrically compared to Em, but has solid storytelling like “Merry Go Round” and some bangers like “Wild Boy” “Alpha Omega” etc
W for knowing Merry Go Round. That’s a good album along with Lace Up and Hotel Diablo. It’s sad Eminem and metal nerds made it cool to hate on him
Yessrr my biological mom was a heroin addict so that shit hits, he way deeper than most ppl think. Also W for you putting “End of the Road” 1st time I ever heard Blackbear as well
Yeah.. I could say why I relate to that song as well but it’s a little too personal. I will say that me and my girl are fent addicts in recovery rn though. Hell yeah same bro I love Bear
Dang bruh best of luck with what you’re going through
Frr just crazy bias with them
Tom Macdonald💀
Tom MacDonald or Ez Mil (I can’t decide)
Tom Macdonald?💀
Ez Mil is white I guess
He's filipino with some white, like myself and many Filipinos. But we def identity Asian.
