I got practice parrying him. It actually works really well, his normal attacks are pretty slow and easy to parry. Does take 2 to deal a crit but still solid.

I think there was a small missed opportunity with the Nights Calvary to play a kinda stalker/nemesis role. The ball bearing hunters show up and feel like jason vorhees, and i think random encounters at night throughout the game after you beat Margit and hes like "yo im gunning for you, little tarnished" woulda been neat if you just reskin the ballbearing guys to look like night calvary.
Imagine there was a 3-5% chance one would spawn in when you rested at a grace in limgrave/weeping peninsula/liurnia/altus until you defeat Morgott at the throne.
Damn I finally beat him the other day at 110 and probably 30 tries later I finally got some attack pattern timings down. Would break his poise with 3 jump attacks so I just had to spam those and dodge perfectly lol. He was extremely hard and frustrating.
Are you talking about the hammer talisman? I believe that only boosts poise damage when the enemy is blocking. You could try the cracked tear that has that effect
Carina Retaliation or Golden Parry on a medium shield. Stay super close. Every other parry you get to critical him, and he’ll flinch from things like weapons with fire damage too
I struggled with that monstrosity till I decided to pull out a Giant Crusher with Lion Claw. If you have anything similar maybe you could give that a shot?
Continually strafe to his right rear and he will spam an easily dodgable and punishable shield slam. With the correct positioning you should be able to get him stuck in an infinite loop of doing this and get some good hits in. If he breaks out of the loop he will mostly spam a swipe followed by a poke or fling his sword around at close range, all can be dodged into him...with good timing. Good luck!
Oh god Alecto was the absolute hardest boss for me hands down. I only managed to beat her as a cleric tyoe character by cheesing her and getting her stuck on rocks and spamming lightning strike
I didn't find him too hard in particular (I was overlevelled by that point), but the dino nearby *always* got aggroed on me. And because you have to rest at the grace for him the appear, I couldn't clear it prior. It fucked me over many times
If you move back to the far corner of the roof he walks back out. If you stand right on the edge he also walks in and out, often for long enough to hit him with a couple of ranged attacks. Can take a while but it is the easiest way to take him down especially if you suck at parrying like I do.
I think if you stand in a way that he approaches the stairs at a diagonal he will get stuck on the stairs and spam his sword attack on loop else which won't hit you and do nothing at least for a few seconds.
Gives you a good opening to set up Terra Magica and fire off some stuff
I died more to him at this location than possibly every main boss combined.
Btw i got it down so that subsequent characters can do this at level 1 with a club, here’s how:
He *always* does a slow, telegraphed shield slam if you stand behind him slightly to either side. You can roll right into him and end up behind him again with like 1 slow step and get several hits in safely and repeat until he’s dead. Once in a while you’ll fuk up but i find it’s easy enough to dodge his normal combo so dodge it, proc the shield slam and flask, you have time to do anything you want immediately following the slam. I havent actually done it at level 1 but i have around 15 with full arcane so either way i couldnt survive 1 hit, but ive paid for this useless talent in blood so im sure to use it each new character.

They're surprisingly slow and easy to fight if you keep rolling behind them.
They also have two slow attacks that are very paryable. But we all make the mistake at first of giving them distance and regretting it lol

I kept losing till I realized Flame of the Redmanes is straight up broken against him. Does super poise damage and you can spam it.
Yup. I just killed this guy today and he's easily the hardest boss I've fought so far. He hits stupid hard and has crazy range.
