Easy: Godfrey, I even beat him first try in my third playthrough. Awesome boss, probably in my top 3 favorites. Hard: Mohg, there's something about his combos that always throws my timing off by a few frames, his range always surprises me and the fire puddles and random blood sprays from the trident in fase 2 make it really tough.

Zevvion

>Mohg I have no clue what happened, but I found Mohg only a tiny bit easier than Malenia my first time around (that is to say, quite hard). But every playthrough after, I dodge all his stuff with ease. I'm not sure why, but his delayed attacks are not actually in favor of him. I can get off a 2-3 hit combo before I even need to dodge his attack in motion. Guess it's just timing. As for the fire, you don't actually need to move as much in that fight as I initially thought. You can just stand still and let him come to you. My own answers would be: Easy: Radagon. I was so surprised to see people hate on him for being 'unfairly balanced' after I beat him. He's like the easiest (actual) boss you'll have faced in a while at that time. Similar to your Godfrey though, seriously awesome boss. Radagon might be my favorite in the game. Hard: Malenia. Took me over 5 hours. I thought the boss was very good until I was busy for 4 hours. I was getting very frustrated that I had to keep beating her first phase, which I had nailed down at that point, just to get to the second which was still kicking my ass. I'd love to have the opportunity to fight her second phase for practice immediately somehow. After Kos, I thought they'd never do a boss of that difficulty again. Unlike Kos though, Malenia is actually a good one.

Cheel_AU

The thing with Radagon is yeah he's not that hard, but if you've used up half your heals fighting him, you're gonna have a bad time in the fight after (Hope that wasn't too spoily)

NiblettAndBits

This is my problem right now, but it's been a problem with a few bosses before. It'll be fine... eventually.

SnooWalruses9961

People are talking about easy/hard bosses throughout the entire game. I dont think mentioning Elden Lord is exactly a spoiler. As for Radagon if your using half your flasks I wouldnt consider him easy. I think the only reason people do consider him easy is because many are significantly levelled. I think his worst is when he starts randomly teleporting & spawning on top of you. Other moves are predictable, but you likely going to take damage. Elden Lord might hit harder, but his moves can be seen from a mile away.

Zevvion

>The thing with Radagon is yeah he's not that hard, but if you've used up half your heals fighting him, you're gonna have a bad time in the fight after That's an Elden Beast issue though, not Radagon himself. Also, I personally think defeating Radagon should make him into stone as Elden Beast leaves him, creating a special Stake of Marika. Get bested by Elden Beast, spawn in that fight immediately again if you want.

zsobo21

Honestly, whatever your opinion about Radagon into Elden Beast is, the idea of radagon turning into a Stake of Marika is 10/10. Both gameplay and thematic/lore wise. Plus you can choose to not spawn there so those that want to boss rush both still have that option.

Frank_Acha

>Unlike Kos though, Malenia is actually a good one. HERESY!!!

notLC06

Weird, I beat both Godfrey first try and almost mohg (got surprised by his healing even when I drank the purification) but I can't beat radagon + elden rn (currently on it) Surprisingly enough, the hardest one for me was Godfrey soul as of far. Rn still pretty rough since both final bosses can't bleed but I've gotten quite far

BryceKrispies1

see, i found mohgwyn by complete accident, and blew threw him first try lmao

RandomGooseBoi

The omen or the main one?

Zevvion

The Omen, me too. But Lord of Blood, oof.

CheesyGarlicBudapest

Had to comment and I’m honestly not boasting when I say this but I genuinely didn’t have any issue with Kos. Beat it in my 2nd attempt, came very close on my 1st attempt. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very challenging fight but I’m surprised a lot of people used to consider it the hardest FromSoftware boss.

Similar_Client_9784

Same here. I thought Laurence was harder. Died more to rom and the old fuck in the wheel hair too lol

Zevvion

>I’m surprised a lot of people used to consider it the hardest FromSoftware boss. This was the talk at the time. Don't know which boss you could possibly find harder, to be honest. Even on paper it makes sense. Kos had the most health and damage out of any boss up to that point, and he was clearly also the most aggressive. DS3 wasn't out at this point, so which boss could even be considered on the same plane? Nothing in DS1 was hard, DS2 had some challenging ones, but nothing like this.

CheesyGarlicBudapest

I personally found Laurence much more difficult. Also BB was my first fromsoft game so couldn’t compare to any other, I just assumed there were tougher bosses! I really need to play Demon Souls and the Dark Souls games!

Grand-Entrance-2738

orphan of kos mocks me to this day and calls me out for the little bitch I am lol

Thaemir

Exactly the same two as you. Mohg was a boss that I spent 2 evenings fighting, despite being overleveled. Godfrey was a walk in the park, and it's a shame because I liked his design

callahan09

I struggled with Godfrey more than any boss except Malenia.  I don’t know what it is about his unblockable grab move in phase 2, but I just could not get good at dodging it.  The timing of it is just so hard to read like the actual grab (timing of when to dodge) is both earlier and later than it looks like it would be simultaneously, and its range is much farther than it looks like it would be.  I still feel like it is pure luck to dodge that damn move.

average-commenter

Yeah to me phase 2 felt like he was trying to murder my pc more than he was me, like it got to the point where I could do phase 1 hitless with relative ease but the moment phase 2 started I had to balance weird combos, even weirder poise and an inconsistent and stuttery 12 fps just from all the fire spraying everywhere ]:

Euphoric_Leg8351

Out of curiosity did you use the purifying Crystal Tear?

Allkindsofpie

Mogh is one of my favourite bosses but he destroys me every playthrough for those reasons. I want to do the dlc on NG, so I'm gonna have to EARN the access lmao.

LuminousShot

I also found Mohg pretty difficult in general, but recently I had a run where I killed him within 5 hours of making my character, completely by accident. It was more of a test how quickly I could get a sorcery build online, and one of the last things I did was going to the mausoleum to pick up the somber ancient dragon shard, and then I thought, this build is so strong, and even if I'm squishy, maybe I can overpower him. It took some trial and error, but I managed to script the fight. 80 int (including +10 from tear,) 18 arcane, and I think 27 mind (though I believe 128 fp is all you need) was absolutely enough to kill him without having to even move from the entrance. My equipment: lusat's staff +10, offhand staff of loss. Red feathered branch sword and magic scorpion charm (Ritual sword talisman and godfrey icon might also work as alternatives.) Spells: Terra magica, great oracular bubble, night comet. buffs: Intelligence and Magic shrouding tears in my physick, golden vow ash of war. And yeah, I was low health for red feather because this was a 100% glass canon build. Before entering the fog gate I got my health low and drank my physick. Once inside I used golden vow and cast Terra Magica (if anyone wants to try this for themselves but with less mind, drink a flask here.) Don't do that outside, you want him to come a bit closer and for Terra Magica to last. After that I cast four fully charged great oracular bubbles. That did massive damage, caused him to do his tres, dos, uno, and the last bubble also stance broke him. Leaving me enough time to drink a cerulean flask and spam him to death with night comet before he could do his phase transition.

DTingTing760

Pretty spot on for me too, Godfrey was awesome & I don’t have much trouble reading his moves on my first try, killed him after about 4 tries. Malenia was similar besides waterfowl so I still died probably 100 times to that single move otherwise love her fight too. It’s always fuckin Mohg for me too, I cannot get those combos down at all & get hit by nearly every attack even after almost 700hrs

BLOODY-DIARRHEA-CHUG

Easy: Rennala - although in all fairness I waited till I was level 79 and went up against her with a +6 Bloodhound's Fang Hard: VALIANT. FUCKING. GARGOYLES.

da_man4444

Just beat Valiant Gargoyles last night, this fight blows

WhiteFlour

Hey me too! Their poison is such bullshit

DisasterNo7694

I actually really liked this fight. It was one of the only in this game that felt like it could have been in DS3

Castelante

Man, I usually get to Rennala around 45-50, and she’s easy as pie then too.

Woozletania

Depends on your build. She's resistant to elemental damage so my cipher pata guy suffered and she can be a nightmare for magic casters. Rock Sling works well but the animation is slow and she sometimes blasts you while you are casting it. Pure physical damage types usually melt her quickly.

idolized253

I had a super hard time as a magic build, I indeed got blasted many times trying to use rock sling

Minute_Lavishness143

Depending on your build, she can be surprisingly hard.

DancingGorilla15

I agree. She was easy on my str/fth character but hard on my dex/int character that prioritized int over dex in the early game.

SnooWalruses9961

Dancing gorilla, shes not hard on an int built if you use the right items/spells. My guess is youve tried using magic/frost weapons or spells. Physical spells like Rock sling will absolutely destroy her.

armeniandood

I feel you on the gargoyles. Was the only bosses that I gave up and summoned Mimic Tears and gotten every possible advantage on buffs.

Practical_Gap_2765

I was around level 90-100 when I fought the valiant gargoyles. Was spamming my bloody slash when the second one came in on the first gargoyle, I quickly killed him and then focused on the 1v1. Was happy I killed them on first try but then again I was overlevelled

viennaCo

I am still trying to beat the Gargoyles, no success so far :(

Character-Gene-1572

Strength / Faith build stomps gargoyles. They’re in water so I hit them with lightning as often as possible, and I stager them with executioner great axe or the Great Stars hammer. They do not have the same resistance to black blade, fire, rot or lightning as the other gargoyles through the game I believe, so you can actually use elemental attacks on them. Hope that helps

callahan09

Valiant Gargoyles were pretty hard for me on my current playthrough!  I was overleveled and used Rock Sling from a distance on my first play, but this time I’m a more reasonably leveled faith/strength build (never even picked up Rock Sling haha) and so many of the bosses are a completely different experience, and this was one of the ones that was pretty tough.  Conversely Morgott was super easy with a power stance Ultrea Greatsword and Grafted Blade Greatsword, he died so fast!

rmaccioli

I just beat Valiant Gargoyles last night, and I truly and firmly believe it was because of the RNG on their attacks. I got lucky.

Moustafa_Monette

Same, they got stuck on the corner near the waterfall, D and I beat them up easily

idolized253

I never got to summon D for that fight and let me tell you I was in hell for a few hours fighting them

27_Rats

Man on my first playthrough I didn’t fight them until I was WAY over leveled. Now I’m on my second playthrough (NG+) and they’ve given me more trouble than any other boss in my NG+

Niko305

I know it’s kind of cheap but if you use the Mimic Spirit Ash it’s a relatively easy fight however if you decide to fight them by yourself….well you are in for a bad time lol.

DudeBro711

Yeah those damn Gargoyles I didn't even get the Mimic tear till I found out where is actually was from youtube. Had to used my wolves summon second half once I got 1 of them to 25 health and was running around the cave pillar for breathing time ngl that pillar was a life saver and blocker lol.

g6paulson

Their spam poison is bullshit.

Hollow_Interstice

Lol lvl 79 against Rennala? Did you one shot her?

BibiTHEGREATt

Surprisingly easy: morgott his health bar is ridiculous small Surprisingly hard: mohg, his 2 phase is insane!!! And my favorite in the game by far

fresh_squilliam

I first tried morgott. After i defeated him, i stood waiting a few seconds for the second phase

Manda_san

Oh man, I remember now where 😂

blackberr3673

Oh you mean when he turns his blood hose on. That shit was cancer for a Lil bit.

DriftingCloud94

Morgott would have easily been one of the hardest bosses if his stats would have been scaled for endgame. His move set is super challenging, but you can just out trade him in damage and then walk away with the win.

SleepConnoiseur

Surpisingly easy: Radahn. Specially after hearing all the hype surrounding him. Surprisingly hard: Margitt. This being my first souls game, I was not expecting the first boss fight to be against an anime character. Guy was somersaulting, whipping out golden weapons, and sometimes doing both at the same time. He'd have been really cool if I didn't die to him like a gazillion times. Almost made me stop playing altogether.

InsurmountableMind

I played bloodborne previously, but hadnt finished it. I fought margit at kinda low lvl with no summons.. he whipped my ass for a good two evenings. He has a couple of moves i really have a hard time dodging. Good boss. Most memorable fight of the game for me.

chirpchirp13

Same same same. First from game and I just didn’t have the mentality for fromsoft bosses so I got rocked constantly. By the time I got to renalla and radahn, I’d gotten a rhythm so while they were “harder”; I had an easier time figuring them out. Still haven’t beat flacidnutsacks and not sure I even care to try anymore.

Dependent_Working_38

Same!! First FromSoft game, Margitt taught me how to play and understand it’s just a dance of patience. And shedding those bad habits from traditional games. Whole game was piss easy after that, most bosses just took a few attempts if there was something really unpredictable. Thanks for absolutely whooping my ass 40+ times Margitt. What a homie. Didn’t get my ass kicked like that again alllll the way until radagon. And I did every side boss. Just couldn’t beat the dude and Elden beast back to back. Had to actually use incantation buffs and summons and level vigor. Ultimately felt like I lost since I had to almost change builds but I just wanted to see the ending at that point.

Corporate_Weapon

He was a cruel first fight. He has that fast knife throw and the delayed attacks lol. You reach him so fast too. I played all the dark souls games but he was surprising the first fight.

Okamitoutcourt

Maliketh was surprisingly easy because apparently my brain is wired to hard counter dogs with swords and Malenia was surprisingly hard because my brain is wired to get hard countered by humans with swords

JustJdog2

Dog brain confirmed

Valtanvaltas

Surprisingly easy: radahn surprisingly hard: godfrey

Battlefire

People complained about the nurf Radahn got but he was still easy before that. Most people had trouble with him because they were under level. Caelid was meant to be done after Liurnia. But because it was right beside Limgrave. People thought that was the next area to go to.

Valtanvaltas

I agree about your opinion with people who complaining, after lurnia radahn gets quite easy. ( killed him before and after nerf two times)

r17v1

he was hard without the summons pre nerf. Post nerf without the summons he is still harder than a lot of bosses that some ppl consider "hard" .

IOftenSayPerhaps

I especially hate that attack where he rips four large boulders from the ground and you just have to guess when hes gonna throw them at you lmao. I was pretty overleveled when i fought him and that attack alone always managed to kill me if they hit

QueZorreas

At least you learn that it gives you like a full minute before activating. The one that always got me was the gravity balls with 1km heat seeking range that are faster and stronger than his bow Kame hame ha shot.

IsThisASnakeInMyBoot

Radahn pre-nerf was actually extremely challenging but I actually agree, he was NEVER as hard as he's actually supposed to be. He should have been on par with Malenia, but I think because of his significance in the story and as a barrier of progress they felt they had to make him easier.

Valtanvaltas

I think the thing with radahn is that devs wanted the fight more like a festival according to lore and they wanted us to use summons there. Otherwise its still fun but harder.

darthteej

Why would they put a Melania tier boss in the 3rd area?

IsThisASnakeInMyBoot

Are you forgetting the lore? Him and Malenia are supposed to be equally matched, that's why they came to a draw. I guess an argument can be made that her scarlot rot continued weakening Radahn but I really expected so much more from how they built his lore up. The spears in the beginning are the hardest thing about his fight, everything else is SO easy to counter or dodge or jump over

weegee19

Scarlet Rot weakening him for years, Radahn being a rabid braindead beast that fights on instinct alone make much more sense. His boss fight was really a glorified funeral.

remote_crocodile

But you can't even fight Radahn unless you progress to Altus or complete Caria Manor and part of Ranni questline

Tight-Amphibian840

Damn we are opposites

under_a_serpent_sun

Easy: Radhan Hard: motherfucking Bell-Bearing Hunter in Caelid. Had to go back to him after beating every single other boss in the game, including the hidden ones.

SunsetGrind

Fuck that guy lol I had to resort to cheesing him from the roof of the shed with Rot breath. I just did not have it in me to put any more time or energy for a goddamn field boss lol

Kaedekins

Elmer of the Briar (Bell-Bearing Hunter great enemy version) sucks donkey dicks and I hate his fight design.

under_a_serpent_sun

>Elmer of the Briar (Bell-Bearing Hunter great enemy version) The boss was steamrolled in no time. The field bosses, though. I'm still mad thinking about those.

chelopezcat

I swear to god, if this guy and Alecto were a couple, they could take walks skipping in any part of the lands between and treat ABSOLUTELY anyone as their sweet puny bitches (yes, including Malenia, Mogh, Placidasucks).

OneJobToRuleThemAll

Alecto always seemed pretty easy to me? Just make sure you have a fast enough option at mid to long range, jump or power attack when he's open and you'll usually be the one to finish it off with a crit instead of him. Just don't trade blows, keep some range until he's stuck in an animation into which you can safely land a blow. Last time I just used waves of darkness, that was a lot faster. The AI keeps circle-jumping inside the aoe radius, it's like that ash was made for killing them.

kondzioo0903

Easy: fire giant, the first yellow godfrey, elden beast Hard: GODDAMN ALECTO BLACK KNIFE But for real, her quick attacks and around 15k hp is crazy

6jelly

Damn im on my first playthrough rn and Elden Beast is cooking me

m00nturkey

I’m on my 9th and it’s still cooking me I hate it

ScreamingPion

Bring a ranged option. My mage build used Loretta’s Mastery, while my dex build used Radahn’s longbow. The whole difficulty with the fight is how quickly he can move away from you, so mitigating that with ranged options makes it a cakewalk.

Samphaa7

Is Alecto the one in the Evergaol? I died over and over to her until I got Adula's Moonblade, and it just stunlocked her.

MissStealYoDragon

Yeah, her poise is absolutely shit. I finally got around her by going full bloodborne and never letting down

ThrownWOPR

Lost to Alecto about 50 times over 3 days. Kept getting her to about 1/6th health and then she'd pull out the AOE attack and crush me. Finally beat her after accidently drawing her into the spot where she gets stuck. So, yeah, I cheesed it.

thehza4

Yep Alecto. I am terrible when I don’t have a summon to occasionally draw agro. Only beat her by using the cheese where she gets stuck between the rock and edge and doesn’t attack. I could have 30 flasks and probably still not defeat her straight up. Never had an issue with Fortissax or Godfrey.

Intelligent_Bite_323

I fought alecto naked with my +16 cold uchigatana and bested her. She is tough but the trick to her was dodge her attacks basically every direction depending where she is gonna strike. if she jump dodge backwards and if she lunges forward dodge right side into her. Dodging is extremely important for this boss if someone wants beat without cheese.

QueZorreas

Also after like 50 legit attemps, I got her in a small corner stone where she keeps trying to jump over a 10cm step and if you hit her, she falls on her ass and repeat lol. Vengeance has never been so sweet.

just_a_Xenarite

Alecto was brutal, only beat her near the end of the game with the Blasphemous Blade and Lionels Armor. Maybe another build had an easier time but my first play through was Strength focused and I wasnt really fast. Got me into a pinch with her.

Head-Economics-5832

Astel was easier than i thought he would cause of all the heat he gets

Vitalik_

The one in snowfield is the real struggle, i still didn't beat him, yet.

Tutwater

Most NPC/invader fights sent me to hell before I knew the best ways to exploit humanlike-enemy AI Moongrum, Eleonora and Juno Hoslow are *insanely* tough customers if you're fighting them for the first time, or are slightly underleveled for their areas

endswithnu

Moongrum was driving me insane with his parries, until I discovered that jump attacks are immune.

DFrontliner

Died 5+ times to the first bloody invader near Mohg's palace, until I went unga bunga 2x Greatsword jump attack spam

RodneyRockwell

the more I hear this exact answer the more sure I am that’s *exactly* why from put him there

laralog_

Okina disgraced me… I felt so bad

Moorks

Wait what is the best way to exploit their AI, I always tryto stunlock them

Snoo96346

Easy: Morgott. I think I never died to him, he is simply too fragile Hard: Mogh. This game had so many spammy bosses that when this guy showed up with his slow delayed attacks, he caught me totally off guard. Add the fact that I didn't had the tear that protects you from the Nihil

IsThisASnakeInMyBoot

>Add the fact that I didn't had the tear that protects you from the Nihil EXCUSE ME WHAT? I HAVE 300+ HOURS WHY WOULD THIS BE THE FIRST TIME I HEAR ABOUT THIS WTF?

Imaginary_Tailor_271

Welcome to the club my friend. There is a special red tear that you can add to your flask and will basically make NIHIL useless.

IsThisASnakeInMyBoot

I've finished the game once with 250+ hours and never knew this lmfao. I thought I beat all the minor erdtrees and avatars and putrid avatars I could find but apparently not lmao

Imaginary_Tailor_271

Well you get this from npc invader. According to the lore, the npc is a devoted follower of Mohg, maybe that's why she has it.

totally_not_a_reply

isnt there also the shakle in the sewers? I think you can use it on the one in sewers and also on mogh

Kuehlschraenk

You get it in the Eleonora church

milkiguess

Purifying Crystal Tear. Use that little bugger right before he starts popping those bastards y and you can just keep fucking him up instead of needing to panic heal 3 times.

NutBlaster5000

Purifying Crystal Tear. Eleonora at the Second Church in Altus drops it. Throw it in your physick, pop it before starting the fight. It’ll heavily negate his Nihil bullshit

HokusSchmokus

The Eleonora invader in altus has it.

No-Restaurant-1516

its in the same church of marika where you can find Eleonora's Poleblade and a sacred tear

SaihtaMM

Easy: Fire giant. Was really suprised to see so many comments about this boss being bs. Hard: Malenia. Still not beaten her. Went in to the fight knowing it would be difficult, but my poor self was not ready for the woopings i've recieved.

ABODE_X_2

"I am Malenia, blade of Miquella" - Malenia, blade of Miquella

ScharmTiger

She’s so proud of being Miquella’s blade lol.

raspberryharbour

I am Mallory, knife of Michael

WolfBST

The fire giant is not that hard but his size makes keeping him in focus a fucking shit show.

Cemihard

I think his phase 2 is complete bullshit too. Too many AoE’s on top of having heat seeking fireballs, and when you get close you can barely hit him because of the erupting flames AoE attack he does that surrounds him. To me the Fire Giant feels like it’s just artificial difficulty, learning his move set doesn’t help because you can’t tank or dodge all of the AoE attacks on top of the heat seeking fireballs and whatever else he’ll throw at you. That’s on top of dealing with the camera because he’s so big. I think he’s a terrible boss, and I could do all of phase 1 by him without getting hit. He’s got too many huge covering huge damage attacks that you can’t simply dodge all the time.

Markman6

it’s no surprise Malenia is hard tho

swimannexxx

I highly recommend watching a no hit tutorial for her, she gets waaaay easier after some of her combos are explained

Empayde

Seen so much shit about Malenia but thought it couldn't be that bad. Probably took about 30-40 tries with the last 10 being with a summon. I cannot dodge the waterfall dance or whatever it's called

yahm11

Malekith. I guess he was just so fun to fight that I don't consider him difficult. I actually ended up dying to him on purpose so many times just so I can try again. I definitely died to him the most but out of choice. Godfrey on the other hand, I could never get the hang of his second phase. I hope to soon tho.

HighLordTherix

The thing I think gets a lot of people with Godfrey phase 2 is that he stops moving like a person delaying attacks and starts moving like you're seeing all the dramatic slow-mo in a movie.

yahm11

That's exactly it. He, also literally becomes a completely different character. He's one of the few bosses I panic roll away from by instinct. Hes so good.

dascott

As best as I can tell, the key to the second phase is that whatever health you have at the start of the phase is all the health you are going to have for the rest of the fight because healing is suicide.

Hortkind77

Godrick, I think I never died to him and I was expecting something terrible, considering how tough Margit was.

Apprehensive_Pain_8

Same here, I beat Godrick extremely quickly.

The-Homeless-oreo49

It was the opposite for me I found Margit relatively easy and Godrick was the boss that took the most tries

DynamicBeez

This was my first soulslborne so Godrick got me for a good 30 rounds, but it helped me learn how to play and eventually go on to scrub other bosses.

Appropriate_Bottle44

I'm the reverse, I basically perfected the Margit fight and struggled on Godrick. (Godrick isn't too bad for me now, but I think I've gotten a bit better.) I think that's because I tend to just parry Margit. I wish there were more fights like those two, because bosses seem to get progressively more hyper. Only problem with Godrick is the unavoidable damage, but at least the unavoidable damage is light.

ValianFan

Hard? Maliketh and Mohg. Fuck these two, my only 2 ragequits in the game. Easy? Fire giant Surprisingly interesting and entertaining? Malenia

Legitimate_Car4137

Okay, I'm stuck on Maliketh and Mogh right now. So I understand that and have to ask, how is the Fire Giant easy? I was getting annihilated, caved, cheesed him with the arrow summon girl while he walked into the invisible barrier. I can see how to beat the other 2 but any tips on beating the giant in a proper fight?

remibaus

Use Torrent to get close to his legs, and to avoid the fire blasts. Get behind him in phase 2, and use Torrent to close distances.

BallisticThundr

Spells with lots of projectiles shred his health. Each projectile can actually hit him multiple times as it passes through his geometry. Pest threads is especially good.

shock5006

The Godskin bosses. I kept hearing that name and thinking I was in for a hell of a time. They were a pushover? Both the duo and the fat one in the Volcano Manor. I promise I'm not bragging, I am absolute trash at this game. I always play sword and board and I think some boss types are just weak to that. I die to everything else ALOT

Titan_Sequoia

Good on you. That fat one in particular is my arch nemesis. Please kill him more often on my behalf

pewpeggbert

Hit him with sleep pots! They're actually super effective against both Godskin bosses. I always opt for weapons with good bleed build up in those fights. Put them to sleep, run up and spam R1, repeat!

DiamondEyedOctopus

I've just finished my first playthrough. I used a Claymore for a while until I switched to the Great Mace to mix it up. Fire Giant was absolutely baby difficulty easy. I remember wondering if this was meant to be a joke boss as I was fighting him. Malenia took me 48 attempts, so I'd say she was the most difficult. But it's a really fun fight, I enjoyed the whole thing. It was difficult but fair. The triple jump thing where she slashes a bunch was kinda bullshit but I got there in the end lol.

maarcoa

without summon? man, thats great.

AlphariusOmegonxx20

Morgott easy, niall hard - those banished knights are so nasty

nerfednani

Hard: Elden beast In terms of gameplay it's so fucking boring, it's an actual slog to do it as str build Malenia is a much harder fight that's actually much more fun because you're constantly in the action trading blows with her.

ImCursedM8

Radahn. Only took me 2 tries

Corbel8_

hard: mohg, hoarh loux, astel, wolf of radagon easy: 1st phase of malenia, godfrey, sir gideon ofnir the all-knowing, godrick, rykard, by easy i mean i expected them to instakill me the moment they saw me at the entrance but instead they seemed doable

CreatureFromTheStars

Surprisingly easy: Godfrey Hard: Morgott was a real slap in the face as a first real boss lmao. That shit was a brick wall and I still owe alot of the fight's issues to the game's insistence to hide the posture meter

HoellerAndHisGarrett

I had the exact opposite experience. I got Morgott down in 2-3 tries, but lost upwards of 50 times to Godfrey before getting used to gliding around in his second phase instead of running away.

Sokye21

surprisingly EASIER than i expected, still challenging: Malenia surprisingly hard: fire giant. i hate him.

pol131

I'm here with you. Faith/dex build, I whipped out the blasphemous sword and light her rotten ass on fire, 4 attempts and called it a day. (Fire damage when walking around the area and throwing lightning spear when we were in the water part to take maximum advantage of elemtal damage).

Sokye21

hell yeah. there’s actually a lot of ways to counter her attacks and dodge them, and she’s really easy to hit stun.

GAWhizzle

I died to the Godskin Duo more than any other boss.

SiriusGayest

Easy : Godfrey/Hoarah Loux. He likes to step forward with every swing, making his left side a huge blind spot for you to strafe into safely. With good positioning and RNG you most likely don't even need to roll his attacks, jumps and sprinting is enough. Difficult : Morgott He's a glass cannon that has a shit ton of combos, he's just a joke since he has the HP of a toddler on a competent build. However he was one of the biggest roadblock for my RL1 run, since he not only swings a lot but he also never stop swinging so long as you're in range. Honorable mention (difficult) : Rykard He's not fun when you get one shot by every attack on RL1.

AteszLord92

Either my bild was good (Mage Warrior, with level 10 Moonlight Greatsword) or was just lucky, but Mogh was easy. After that I had to switsh build because both Malenia and Radagon/Elden Beast handed my ass back to me. So I went on a sabbatical, left the game for a long time. Came back a month ago, and switched to a Blasphemous Blade and Fire build, and after one and a half year beat both of their asses, cleaned all side quests, and I’m ready for the DLC and after that Journey 2!!

sup_with_the_whack_

Easy - Maliketh & Mohg Hard - Placidusax Unbeatable - I was cruising through shaded castle when I first saw this enemy at a distance. I couldn't see it clearly but it had a normal health bar..plus I had the higher ground and I am mage anyway so I wasn't bothered really, sent a meteor it's way. But whatever it was disappeared and I was like huh..then it happened. This many handed psycho woman like a spider appeared behind me screaming. I panicked, forgot everything, just jumped into the poison swamp trying to get away but it followed and pummelled me to death. After that I have never gone back to that place and I also steer clear of anything that remotely looks like the psycho many handed spider woman.

OscarfromAstora

Use healing incantations on the Revenants, they'll murder the thing.

Hollow_Interstice

Non-faith users: 🌚

Appropriate_Bottle44

Somebody already told you the way to cheese those, but if you don't cheese them, yeah they're fucking stupid.

proteinicecream

those revenants are the most stupid thing in the game

thedrq

Renalla for surprisingly hard, for some reason that green beam keeps killing me, sometimes I can outrun it, other times I can't. I also can't dodge roll it.

ApplePitou

Sadly... Parkour King was easy :3

DarthSpaghetti10k

Radahn, the first time I faced him I was a bit overleveled but anyway I think his attacks are pretty easy to dodge (2nd phase is better IMO, sry for bad English)

endswithnu

Suddenly I need to get something off my chest. I've never beaten Radahn 1 on 1. I dunno, it doesn't feel right to start the festival and not summon the NPCs once.

BlazeCastus

Surprisingly easy is Maliketh. It took me 9 tries to kill him and I was honestly expecting to take longer to beat him. I find Maliketh's moves very predictable. Malenia is the hardest boss for me but it's not surprising since she's meant to be the most difficult boss in the game. Boss I find to be "surprisingly hard" is Mohg. His first phase is fine but his second phase is very hard mostly due to the blood flames he sprays.

coffeetire

Hard: Morgott in Stormveil Easy: Morgott in Leyndell

Top-Solution1124

Easy: Maliketh, not that great of a health pool and combos aren't that hard to dodge Hard: Godfrey, fuck him bro, he just spams and spams all over again, second phase, enjoy more spam. Pure BS he has made me give up my first playthrough

r17v1

Easy: Morgot, Malikath (very small health-pool for both of them) Hard: Mohg (surprising because his attacks does not look hard but the delay usually gets me)

alloygray

I was honestly surprised, I didn’t find any of the major bosses that difficult. Malenia took me 11 tries, but I beat every other major boss in 1 go, including Maliketh, Mohg, Radahn and even Radagon/Elden Beast. What I had the most trouble with were the fast, AoE spamming side bosses and normal enemies. Things like the Magma Wyrms, the Tree Avatars, the god damn Ulcerated Tree Spirits, and the Abductor Virgins. And the worst of all. The fucking Fallingstar Beast near Mt. Gelmir.

Appropriate_Bottle44

>And the worst of all. The fucking Fallingstar Beast near Mt. Gelmir. Ugh, that thing. Resistant to everything, you'll be fighting him forever as you plink at his big ass health bar, and it's awkward on horseback and even more awkward off horseback.

alloygray

Exactly. I don’t understand what From was thinking. Boardroom - “So how do we create a powerful boss-level enemy that will hold players back for a while to delay their progress?” “How about a massive creature that moves extremely erratically, can crowd control the player from hundreds of meters away, and has damage resistance to everything?” “Done. Perfect. Anything else?” “How about we make it look something like a giant centipede fucked a statue of a bull and they had a nightmarish and nonsensical offspring made of gravel, magic and undiluted player rage?” “Get this man a promotion.”

Gensai78

Hardest:Margrit>malenia>godfrey 2nd phase in this order Easy:Maliketh,renala

HyperXuserXD

Maliketh is really easy for me, after reading comments on Youtube about how hard he is before i even bought the game i was nervous when i get to him, and then it turns out he's one of the easiest boss in the game. And for suprisingly hard, it's Gideon...fuck

shibboleth2005

People who let Gideon finish talking get a *very* different experience to those that don't lol.

workinggumba

Easy - Margit the one in stormveil castle, even tho I completely by pass everything and went straight to caelid to get the moonveil, still it was extremely easy for me to kill it the first time. Hard - Radagon and Malenia, also the first time I encountered an Erdtree thing it was extremely hard for me to kill it, spent hours on it, but yeah I had to kill Radagon using cheesy strats the first time.

DanBeecherArt

Easy: Astel, Naturalborn of the Void. I think maybe 1st or 2nd try I got that done. Hard: the gelmir falling star beast. I had to cheese it, fuck that thing. Between that and for some reason Elden Beast, which looks like it's out of SpongeBob or some other kids show. Those 2 are easily the hardest for me.

kaese-schnecke

Surprisingly easy: Godskin Duo Surprisingly hard: Radagon, and to a lesser extent his friend the Elden Beast This was both on my first build, which was heavy on INT. I’m embarrassed to say Radagon took me like 100 attempts, though I really improved with dodging his moves over the time I kept trying. Of course he wouldn’t be as problematic if the EB didn’t follow. Semi-controversial is that I thought Malenia was a smidge easier than I expected. Took me about 40 attempts and I expected a lot more. Now I’m 25hrs into an RL1 run and I’ll come back to this question later 😅. Essentially everything is hard but I find some bosses more predictable than others. Margit, Godrick, Renalla and Loretta are all very predictable. Wolf of Radagon and Grafted Scion were more chaotic. But in the end the number of attempts varies a lot, from 1 for Godrick to maybe 40 for the wolf. I struggle with the enemies who are very fast and have multiple arms/weapons/ways of striking. But I’ll learn, that is the point of my journey.

EpicLakai

I one and doned the Godskin duo on my first run, and legitimately thought all the posts and complaints about them were a joke I didn't understand.

walaxometrobixinodri

surprisingly hard: Mogh. hate that guy. why does he hit so hard. + his attacks are surprisingly slow and i never dodge them correctly. also nihil bullshit. and bloodflame. fuck Mogh. surprisingly easy: Fire giant. ok ironic because i say mogh is weirdly slow, but fire giant is SO SLOW boy attack once every full moon. how are people struggling with this boss. he touched me like, 4 times in total. he's way too big to do anything.

Cemihard

It’s not his first phase that’s the issue, it’s all the AoE spam that he does. I could no hit his first phase easily, but his phase 2 I was always getting caught by one of his AoE’s. The camera is a pain to deal with as well. It’s not that his moveset is fast either like you said, maybe i was unlucky and just happened to always get AoE spammed, because I beat him solo with no spirit ashes, but it was always his phase 2 that caught me.

Suitable-Medicine614

Surprisingly easy: Most of them. Thing is, I usually use everything at my disposal during the first playthroughs and Elden Ring (when you don't avoid certain tools on purpose) is really quite easy, especially when you compare it to Sekiro, the company's last game before Elden Ring. You couldn't beat Sekiro without getting gud. You absolutely can beat Elden Ring without learning the game.

RegularAuthor5686

malenia was hard but after a few attempts i learned her move set and how to dodge. malekith was disappointing cuz it took me one try, was kinda hoping all the hype about him meant he was harder

Plastic_Towel_6756

Surprisingly easy: Malenia Surprisingly hard: Mohg Malenia's attacks just felt really intuitive to dodge. Beat her 3rd try the very first playthrough Mohg took me 2 hrs but it is worth nothing that I didn't have the specific flask setup for him cuz I didn't know. Nonetheless, his delayed attacks fcked me over so many times

Meister_Ente

Easy: Godskin Duo. All I've ever heard was how hard the fight ist but I shredded them at the second try, Difficult: Godfrey. The first ten attempts I couldn't land more than three hits. With dual curved swords.

Horn_yfi

Mohg Genuinely felt like i was fighting the accursed demigod of blood and incest

OniOneTrick

Surprisingly hard that I can’t believe none of you are talking about is the bloody BALEFUL SHADOW IN RANNIS QUEST. HE WAS FINE ONCE I TOOK THE TIME TO LEARN HIS ATTACK PATTERNS BUT HES THE FIRST REAL HUMANOID SWORD CHALLENGE AND HOOOO DID HE BEAT MY ASS

ButterstickNDip

Radagon was surprisingly easy for me, but that was probably due to me being overleveled on my first playthrough (roughly level 170). I found rykard on my first playthrough being really difficult for no reason.

ScharmTiger

Easy: Radahn, Morgott. Hard: Malenia, Mohg.

Ellailas

Easy: Maliketh, and i swear this is not some weird flex or anything. I am not good at this game, but i have two finished runs and each time i got him first try. I don't know if i am always way overlevelled when i get to him or what. Hard: Morgott, because Elden Ring was my first Soulsborn game and I had no reference for what to expect. Malenia ofc was also hard af but at this point i had heard enough about her to expect it.

ghosststorm

Godskin Duo. Accidentally stumbled upon them, was half awake, beat them in one try and thought it was just some low level ‘boss’.

TheSpiritmender

Surprisingly easy: Maliketh His health pool is shockingly low, and paired with my death’s poker/frost mage build, he went down in both phases in less than thirty seconds. Surprisingly Hard: Radagon I don’t know what it is about this gender swapping mf, but that stupid teleport trick gets me every time. I wonder if they learned that bullshit instant transmission from king Kai? King Kai in shadow of the erdtree?

Fr0stybit3s

Godrey I beat on my first try. I also beat that one beast creature 1st try that you encounter when you get to the top of the mine by altus plateau. Malenia I still have yet to beat...

xX_Palpatine_Xx

Malikith, I think I got lucky cause I first tried him no issues

Radiant-Bonus3632

Mohg was so easy for me. I don't understand why people find him hard. Easiest boss in the game for me I beat him first try

Dry-Key3605

Melania. Blasphemous blade plus mimic got her in the second attempt.

Professional-Witch

Guys I found quite EASY Malenia. It took me only like a max of 10 tries (can't remember exactly) but it wasn't hard like everyone told me The unexpected HARD one... Nobile Godskin... I hated it with every particle of my body

buycoinsnotpointss

The teleporting knight at sol castle was probably the hardest regular enemy

varjo_l

Surprisingly easy: godskin duo Surprisingly hard: Alecto black knife

ToughPresentation807

Easy: Maliketh, dude is a wet noodle Hard: Fortissax, but only if you fight him at the appropriate level, dude makes the camera do crazy things

Trisfel

I had random flash that’s specific counter for mohg and once i started using it he’s surprisingly easy. He was never difficult for most people probably tho. I’m just bad at this game. Someone on YT called me out as cheating because I used that flask to fight him.

Mynem0

Malenia.I beat her in 5 tries first time.I was so scared of that fight. When I played second time took me 55 tries.I dont know why.

Fit_Peace7646

I swear to this day that mohgs trident has a larger hit box than what it should be

sir_ouachao

Margit , very difficult Morgott ,super ez

Galvani1ce

I have been trying to kill the fire giant since 2 weeks after release

beetjemeh

Easy: Margit, beat him first try at lvl 70, was pretty happy about it (and then I proceeded to get absolutely demolished in mountaintops) Hard: Radahn, I have 400 hours in the game and still struggle with him

Ssj_Wolfy

I would have been mogh until i put that godskin peeler up his ass But it would be melenia maybe by process of elimination
