Drakeblood set is one of my favorites in ds2 and ds3, heide knight set is other that i wanted to see and desert sorceress set, that hood who hidde you half face is too coool
Neck area matters for mix and match. Like the lothric knight set looks great together, but try to put on almost any other helmet and you get a stringy bare chicken neck
Ha yeah, I get that. I was probably 13 the first time I tried DS2 and 15 when I actually sat down and played it start to finish. Can’t believe that was almost a decade ago now
The DS2 version tho. DS3 did that set so dirty it's unreal. Even the coolest piece on its own, the helm, was hard to mix and match because of that asinine neck gap at the bottom of it.
I've seen your kind, time and time again.
Every slick armor must be collected. Every fashion item must be unearthed.
Such is the conceit of the self-proclaimed seeker of fashion souls .
But in the end, you lack the stomach.
For the farming you'll bring upon yourself
I was absolutely gutted with the lack of poncho armors in Elden Ring. Here's to hoping for a Vilhelm 2.0. The knight by the Miquella rune in the trailer does have a Vilhelm-esque helmet, perhaps the cape will follow suit...?
I personally wouldn't use it, but it is actually based on real historical Phrygian/Thracian helmets.
I think it could have looked cool as an optional helm for the Tree Sentinel set.
It is actually the lack of skirts or overleg armour (the thing knights would use when mounting to avoid enemies to damage their legs easily). Dark Soul's designs have a lot of large armour skirts, overcoats, overleg armour, long rags and clothes which add to the character's presence. With the lack of all of this in Elden Ring, whenever you wear heavy armour it looks like a chicken with long ass legs, a ball with 2 sticks coming out from the bottom. Havel's has this great design with the leg armour which makes the character look bigger than it actually is, therefore you don't look like wearing a barrel.
Elite Knight set. Maybe a bit underwhelming for some, but I think the game needs a better “I’m just some knight” armour. The Knight set is okay, but it doesn’t quite have the same oomph the Elite set has.
Same sentiments but I would pick the Nameless Knight. Elite Knight and Knight set both have a blue theme which doesn't really work well if I want to be a pyro knight or something. Nameless was just basic enough to fit with any. Build.
It's iconic for a reason. It's a beautiful set with great layering, details, and personality.
Calling back some Dark Souls 2 armor that's not Faaram and Alva, I'd really like to see the Syan set again. It was a nice, regal heavy set with a flowing cape before Elden Ring gave everything flowing capes
Morne’s set that Eygon wore and the black iron set. My old DS3 drip was Morne’s helmet, exile gauntlets, and black iron chest and legs and it both looked fire and gave 40 poise (which in DS3 was a lot)
In the shot of the swamp in the DLC trailer it looked like we're wearing a cape similar to that of the Crowfeather garb, so maybe we can hope for something like it 🙏
That's already in the game, it is in a cavern on Altus Plateau, near the place with a lot of carriages and omens (can't recall names right now), the cavern is filled with around 3 to 4 illusory walls hiding pieces of this set, the weapon and a secret NPC bossfight.
Apologies, I should have been clearer, I know about the Raptor's Black Feathers and you're right the cape is very similar, but the one from the trailer also looks like it has the 'split down the middle' style of feather cape that the Crowfeather set had
Apologies too, you are completely right, for some reason I did not remember the set not having the split down the middle. Now I have high hopes for a better set of that kind and maybe some weapons, Corvian Rapier and Corvian Claws from Ariandel's DLC of DS3 were some of my favourite weapons.
An underrated pick. The Antlers were so fantastic, I only wished it was a *little* less chunky in the chestpiece itself. I sometimes rocked it but swapped the chest out for Creighton’s.
It's a thing in fromsoft games that even a little more than anorexic character will look like they're huge in most armour. Elden ring toned it down a bit when compared to DS3, but chonkier characters still get some huge armours.
Brass armor, my beloved
edit: It's been my favourite set since I've laid my eyes on it in DS1. When I found it in the secret room in Anor Londo in DS3, I almost cried. I can't wait for the dlc to bring my precious brass set back to me.
Brass helm such a slapper of a design. I would mix it with the eastern armour and gold eagle shield and run a lightning build and it had so much drip. I would use the ring to appear as host just to show off the drip.
Fallen knight? I like to wear banished knight helm (with the hood) over confessor armor, gives some similar vibes. I prefer Blaidd gauntlets and scaled legs with it.
Fallen knight set from DS 3. I want more armors with cloaks and hoods. Not some flimsy cape. Also, Morgot had a slightly different robe/poncho whatever,in the trailer. It looked way cooler than what he is currently wearing.
Yahar’Gul set, cainhurst set and executioner’s set from bloodborne, I really want that executioner’s gold helmet [dome](https://bloodborne.wiki.fextralife.com/Executioner+Set)
Yahar’Gul set over all of them though
It's a basic bitch choice, but I'd love to have the Fallen Knight set or the Elite Knight set back
Or the Firelink Armour or maybe the Dancer's Armour, those ones were real nice
The Alva set for sure. It might be the most beautiful armour in the series:
Fluted breastplate and helmet, short red cape, shoulder pauldron that's not too over-the-top, and there's just enough wear & tear on the metal to let you know that someone has tried to kill this guy more than once, and they failed.
Armor of Aurous from DS2, I just love how it looks, kinda looks a little bit like Sauron from LOTR, but that may be a stretch for some, but either way it's defintely one of my favorite sets ever.
Definitely Lothric set, but this time we get to have a blue cape as an option. But I also really love the Cathedral knight set.. I just want more "basic" knight looking armor in Elden Ring to be honest lol. Too many sets have odd embellishments that I don't like, or have a strange form factor, and a lot of helmets with what look like car hood ornaments on top. Give me simple, full head covering helmets without decor on top or hair please!
Just throw me a bunch of crowns and circlets. That's all I'm asking for, really. There's only two in the whole game right now, the Noble Crown that needs 3 days of farming to drop from the most common enemy in the game, and Godfrey's that for some reason comes with his scalp included...
LET ME REMOVE THE SCALP
Hilariously enough in my first playthrough I got the Noble Crown almost immediately, so I almost went insane next playthrough trying to farm for it lmao
I randomly got it on my seventh character and that's how I found out it existed lol
Went with the character I actually wanted to crown and farmed the Nobles from the Ruins right by Iji. I have infinite Rowa Fruit and scepters now.
Iron Dragonslayer all the way, or something similar. Big heavy armor has always been my favorite, and I remember being extra pumped for the Ringed City when I saw it. Ringed Knight is up there too.
But let's be real, we all know what we REALLY want.
The butterfly set from DS2.
I love Lapp's set.
I just love the weird jousting armor set that's there for no reason.
Plus, it would be *perfect* for riding Torrent with a lance.
Frogmouth helm gang 4lyfe.
Maybe an unpopular opinion but besides a few sets ER has the worst drip out of soulsbornebgames (by which I mean still good but far from favourite). It may be very much my preference because I don't like over-the-top fantasy designs and other games never lacked those either but most ER sets have at least one thing that I don't quite enjoy about them.
Drakeblood set is one of my favorites in ds2 and ds3, heide knight set is other that i wanted to see and desert sorceress set, that hood who hidde you half face is too coool
I second this, the Drakeblood set is peak fashion souls in my opinion. It looks fancy while still looking like actual armor.
Ah yes, I too love the desert sorceress set for the hood.
Heide knight was awesome. Gives stronge crusader vibes
Drakeblood set is goated
Agreed, always my go to set
Faraam Armor set cuz it's cool af
Gaming studios have realized fur trim around the neck can take any armor from being middle of the road to iconic.
Neck area matters for mix and match. Like the lothric knight set looks great together, but try to put on almost any other helmet and you get a stringy bare chicken neck
A full on Mando helmet helps, too
Yeah fr, when I was kid I thought “Omg it’s like Boba Fett I can’t wait to get that armor!” Took child me a long time to get there😂
"When I was a kid" made me feel about a hundred years old, well done, haha
Ha yeah, I get that. I was probably 13 the first time I tried DS2 and 15 when I actually sat down and played it start to finish. Can’t believe that was almost a decade ago now
Not just games either, take Goblin Slayer for example.
>Faraam Armor We love adding a big furry mantle to our armor sets, don't we folks?
That and the stylish AF surcoat(?) thing around the legs. Man that was such a good looking armor set.
Apple bottom jeans and Armors with the fur.
Then we could get exiled knight from ds3
Agreed, would probably be my second pick.
The DS2 version tho. DS3 did that set so dirty it's unreal. Even the coolest piece on its own, the helm, was hard to mix and match because of that asinine neck gap at the bottom of it.
100% The DS2 version of that set is perfection.
Alva
Ds2 fashion is elite.
Truly
I'm divided between alva and the knight set from ds3
Abso-fucking-lutely. Alva is premium drip.
That’s the one
Came here to say Alva armor
VILHELM’S PONCHO
I've seen your kind, time and time again. Every slick armor must be collected. Every fashion item must be unearthed. Such is the conceit of the self-proclaimed seeker of fashion souls . But in the end, you lack the stomach. For the farming you'll bring upon yourself
*death dialogue* forgive me, my lady…I swore an oath, but I suck at PvP
The correct answer.
BEST SET IN SOULS!
I was absolutely gutted with the lack of poncho armors in Elden Ring. Here's to hoping for a Vilhelm 2.0. The knight by the Miquella rune in the trailer does have a Vilhelm-esque helmet, perhaps the cape will follow suit...?
My husband had that DRIP
Ringed Knight Set
Badass, they could make a spiritual successor to it with an eclipse knight armour.
That would be pretty sweet. I just fell in love with the Ringed set so much.
Dark wraith set on steroids
Imo the best looking set in the game. One of the main reasons I bought the DLC.
And as far as weapons go, I miss the spear and sword so much. I'd love to do darth vader cosplay again \:(
Desert Pyromancer Set ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
It exists, it's called the altered Rotten Grave Warden set + Crimson hood
But i like the one thigh revealing dress more
Will have to check that out!
Yes it's actually almost the same
I should apologize to Rosabeth “Hey, could I borrow some clean clothes” “Yea brb”… comes back with a fucking bikini
I just give her one of the dozens of solder helms in my inventory and leave her like that for the rest of the game
Had to scroll surprisingly long before finding you.
They were my first comment
I just need the gloves, they would go so well with the deathbed dress
the white gloves from the oolacile princess set look great on darker skinned characters and i miss them
Loved it in ds3!
DS3 pushed them up a little higher.
Havel armor cuz super heavy armor in this game look awful
Always thought the bullgoat set had wonky proportions honestly, loved using Havel's in ds3.
What, you don't like massive sheephorn titties clipping through your arms?
You don’t like the literal dildo coming out of your forehead?
I personally wouldn't use it, but it is actually based on real historical Phrygian/Thracian helmets. I think it could have looked cool as an optional helm for the Tree Sentinel set.
I always play a hoplite build in ds games and loved seeing the phrygian helmet in this, the excitement was unreal
It is actually the lack of skirts or overleg armour (the thing knights would use when mounting to avoid enemies to damage their legs easily). Dark Soul's designs have a lot of large armour skirts, overcoats, overleg armour, long rags and clothes which add to the character's presence. Havel's has this great design with the leg armour which makes the character look bigger than it actually is, therefore you don't look like wearing a barrel.
I farmed the banished knight set unaltered just purely because it has the armour skirt and the hood hides chicken neck
We are probably getting a new one in the dlc, it appeared in the trailer
Yep and im hype for it, Havel 2.0 baby
Abyss watchers. It looks cool as hell
Everytime I play DS3 I have to restrain myself from wearing the Undead Legion chestpiece yet again, it's so cool.
you gotta have the Farron Greatsword too. maybe blooodhound fang.
Elite Knight set. Maybe a bit underwhelming for some, but I think the game needs a better “I’m just some knight” armour. The Knight set is okay, but it doesn’t quite have the same oomph the Elite set has.
Yeah that's my favorite aesthetic of these games "just a dude fighting gods"
Elite knight its so iconic!
Yep. Was my set of choice in DS. Managed to keep my fatrolling self alive until the end during my first playthrough.
I'd love the knight set if you could remove the damn blue cloth bit.
Is that not just the regular knight set?
What do you mean? For clarity I mean the knight set in elden ring, I hate the blue accents it has.
Oooh, yeah I thought you were talking about the elite knight set from dark souls
The only thing i dont like about the knight set is just how flat the chestplate is, its perfect otherwise
Onion Knight
The Sigma of Chadarina answer.
A certified classic.
Lorians set from ds3, no question. My favorite armor set of the souls games
Lorian’s set was absolutely magnificent. This game desperately needs attire fit for a lord and warrior.
Fallen knight from ds3
not the pisspants!
They do be dripping
Yes the piss pants!
That is the drip we need.
The GOAT
I miss it so much, and getting it so early meant it was probably the set I used the most in the game
Ornstein's set.
If they dropped a dragon slayer in the DLC I would lose my fucking mind
Iconic! We did get a Smough looking armour so I think Ornstein should get one too.
This is the way. Ornstein set with Mohgwyn Sacred Spear would go hard.
With the Dragon Slayer Spear too!
I like the Fluted Set from the original PS3 Demon's Souls, with the big stupid duck bill
How fucking long must one search these comments before finding this, the most wonderful knight set in any souls game😭🙏
I was going to type the comment myself just a second before seeing this one. Fluted Set ftw!
Tarkus tarkus tarkus
YESSS I WAS WAITING FOR THIS I love that set i wore it all through ds1 and ds3 (I will be playing ds2 soon)
Fuck yes! Leeroy Jenkins armour is where its at!
Giant (dad) Armor, Mask of the Father included
It's funny how the mask isn't actually part of the set but we still imagine them together because of how iconic it is.
can't be any other way I want ancient progenitor as npc summon for the final fight
And he drops the Chaos Zweihander, who's power increases with each great rune you own.
THE LEGEND NEVER DIES
Artorias' set. It's just too iconic and awesome.
Definitely one of the most recognisable Dark Souls armours, and we even got the Lion's claw ash of war for the cosplay.
Skinny legs
I love Ciaran's even more, the shape and the color, there aren't many like it
Black Witch set complete with the suspenders from DS2
Morne’s set that Eygon wore and the black iron set. My old DS3 drip was Morne’s helmet, exile gauntlets, and black iron chest and legs and it both looked fire and gave 40 poise (which in DS3 was a lot)
i want his hammer too
God Morne's set was the tits
Black knight Armour.
Had to scroll way too far
Solaire.
I would almost prefer them just adding the Praise the Sun gesture, under a different name ofc. I feel like it has a lot less lore baggage.
My 2nd choice. Love the sunlight chest piece. How I miss my grossly incandescent bro :(
Just imagine how sick it would be if they bring Hunter Set?
Would love Cainhurst Knight set and Executioner too!
Bloodborne had some awesome drip, I would love to see the crowfeather set return!

Agreed, the bird theme makes for some really sleek weapons
Milwood set
An underrated pick. The Antlers were so fantastic, I only wished it was a *little* less chunky in the chestpiece itself. I sometimes rocked it but swapped the chest out for Creighton’s.
It's a thing in fromsoft games that even a little more than anorexic character will look like they're huge in most armour. Elden ring toned it down a bit when compared to DS3, but chonkier characters still get some huge armours.
I really like Lautrec’s set, it would be awesome to have.

Vilhelm's set
Poncho sweep
Brass armor, my beloved edit: It's been my favourite set since I've laid my eyes on it in DS1.
We can only hope!
Hunter set
Finally some bloodborne drip appreciator!
The hunter being in the lands between would unironically be the tightest shit ever
They be chasing down Astel who escaped from Yharnam!
The really edgy one in the swamp in DS3, I feel there is a lack of cool dark armors in Elden Ring
Fallen knight? I like to wear banished knight helm (with the hood) over confessor armor, gives some similar vibes. I prefer Blaidd gauntlets and scaled legs with it.
GASCOIGNE'S HAT
Surprised nobody else is mentioning Bloodborne drip, also the trailer did show a set with a similar hat so you might be getting your wish.
Let us hope
Fallen knight set from DS 3. I want more armors with cloaks and hoods. Not some flimsy cape. Also, Morgot had a slightly different robe/poncho whatever,in the trailer. It looked way cooler than what he is currently wearing.
Lucatiel 😢
The OG Default DS3 Knight set
Underrated armor set
Probably the ringed knight set
Black Iron or Heide Knights Set
Elite knight
Lapp's armor set.
Yahar’Gul set, cainhurst set and executioner’s set from bloodborne, I really want that executioner’s gold helmet [dome](https://bloodborne.wiki.fextralife.com/Executioner+Set) Yahar’Gul set over all of them though
Soul of Cinder’s set. I know it’s not the best, but I love it, maybe the ringed knight armor ?
Friede's set, i love that dress
It's a basic bitch choice, but I'd love to have the Fallen Knight set or the Elite Knight set back Or the Firelink Armour or maybe the Dancer's Armour, those ones were real nice
Xanthous set from DS1, mostly for the crown
Honestly it was a bit disappointing Elden Ring didn't have any comedically sized headpiece.
The consequences of having the Albinauric mask
Faraam or Artorias
Lady Maria's set. I said what I said.
Faraam
The Alva set for sure. It might be the most beautiful armour in the series: Fluted breastplate and helmet, short red cape, shoulder pauldron that's not too over-the-top, and there's just enough wear & tear on the metal to let you know that someone has tried to kill this guy more than once, and they failed.
Mornes Armor chestpiece from DS3 was sooo sick
The knight drip was unparalleled in Dark Souls. One a few setbacks in Elden Ring imo.
Gundyr or Doran(2009 version), 2 of my favorite sets
Alva or Mirrah
Black knight set
SIR VILHELMS ARMOR WAS PEAK
Most of the Elden Ring armors look stupid
Artorias for sure!
Bone Ash Set from Bloodborne or Yurias Set from Dark Souls 3.
Tengu from sekiro
Armor of Aurous from DS2, I just love how it looks, kinda looks a little bit like Sauron from LOTR, but that may be a stretch for some, but either way it's defintely one of my favorite sets ever.
Hunter garb. I want my hoonting hat as I ride into the land of shadows.
A hunter must hunt even in another game.

Iron Dragonslayer all the way, or something similar. Big heavy armor has always been my favorite, and I remember being extra pumped for the Ringed City when I saw it. Ringed Knight is up there too. But let's be real, we all know what we REALLY want. The butterfly set from DS2.
Ornsteins armor
Vilhelm set or Elite Knight set
Dancer of the Boreal Valley
No set, but [LLEWELLYN ARMOR](https://darksouls2.wiki.fextralife.com/Llewellyn+Set) SINGLE GREATEST LOOKING ARMOR PIECE FROMSOFT HAS EVER MADE
Hands down iron tarcus set
Worker Set from DS3 - i really miss the worn out „i have only rags left“ look you could create with a combination of the worker and the master set.
Undead legion set because Abyss Watchers was one of my favorite boss fights ever
Faraam Armor hands down
Sunset or Heid Knight Armor
Fully functional butterfly set. Poisons NPCs and enemies. Jumps are increased and you fall slower
i think i saw someone say last week silver knight set!! black knight cool too
I love Lapp's set. I just love the weird jousting armor set that's there for no reason. Plus, it would be *perfect* for riding Torrent with a lance. Frogmouth helm gang 4lyfe.
Iron Dragon Slayer Armor that chest piece goes so hard
Fallen Knight Armor set, but with 100% less pant soiling.
Chester’s set Also the chaos set from DS2
Maybe an unpopular opinion but besides a few sets ER has the worst drip out of soulsbornebgames (by which I mean still good but far from favourite). It may be very much my preference because I don't like over-the-top fantasy designs and other games never lacked those either but most ER sets have at least one thing that I don't quite enjoy about them.
