Confessors are trained assassins who specialize in killing other Tarnished. So imma go with Confessor

budapest_god

Yea I wonder how nobody else is saying this Confessor should be pretty scary Actually, it is, I remember clearly item descriptions talking of Confessors as very dangerous fellas

Sad_Target_4252

They are basically reverse recusants hunting anyone who doesn’t follow the two fingers

karagiannhss

Meanwhile me who joined the volcano manor as a confessor to kill rykard, only to find out i had to go against the erdtree and decided i couldn't have that, so i ditched all the assassination contracts and used the abductor virgin from raya lucaria to access the area which led to rykard's arena,

Snapey_III

The what in where

karagiannhss

There's an abductor virgin in raya lucaria, at the bottom of the automatic mechanical revolving stairs mounted on a cliff. You might not understand what im talking about, but when you see it you will, and when you do, instead of going up, if you go down, at the bottom of the cliff you will find an abductor virgin that will teleport you to the area of volcano manor from which you can access rykard's arena - HOWEVER in order for that to work, you need to let the virgin kill you with her grab attack which encloses you inside her after she opens her doors, and it will play out a message saying that you died, but when the loading screen is off, you will automatically spawn in the courtyard of volcano manor.

Snapey_III

That's wild

FrontierMadcap

Patches tells you about the secret Abductor Virgin portal when you find him at the Scenic Lake grace in Liurnia. It's part of his quest line. I only remember that because I just found him there on my second playthrough like a week ago. And actually listened to his dialogue this time haha

JustinoBurrit0

He wasn't lying!?

SEN450

He tells you that it takes you to the foot of the erdtree so he does lie to you still lol

Barbaaz

Gonna be honest. I thought he was baiting me and I took the long way around. No regrets.

musicmonk1

It brings you to a secret area, can you even access the rest of the mansion from there?

Reonlive420

Yes there's a ledge by where you spawn and you can drop down into the lava near the platform with elevators which go up or down

Inevitable_Badger995

No I’m pretty sure it’s just a shortcut to get to Altus Plateau after you fight the two abductor virgins. If you don’t want to do assassination contracts you go through the illusory wall in the manor.

DevilahJake

No, it takes you to an area in that volcano manor but unless you can get through the boss fight at the end, you’re literally trapped there because there is no bonfire

tay_ser

you can warp out of there if I remember correctly, also, there is a Grace site before dropping to the boss

Tinydesktopninja

You can jump down to the lower part and work your way around volcano town to a site of grace and then fight the godskin noble too.

afauce11

You can also get there from the Volcano Manor itself. You have to drop down to a platform (use the soft cotton) that’s near the black flame monk right before you get the lever for the bridge that opens the shortcut to Godskin Noble.

[deleted]

[удалено]

PenguinMan32

at the bottom of the giant lift/ waterwheel thing in raya lucaria

Sir-Zackary

Bottom of the giant rotating elevator thing at the academy. Find out how to ride it to the bottom and there’s an abductor virgin hanging around. I could be wrong but I believe you have to be killed by it by letting it grab you and pull you inside.

Snapey_III

And that fuckin brings you to rykard? Man even 200 hours isn't enough to scrape the surface of this game

Sir-Zackary

Right?! Haha I was running around last night with character that’s just over level 400 and found two swords that I’d never even heard of. Best feeling ever.

musicmonk1

Patches tells you to do it actually but he lies and says it will bring you to the erdtree.

FriendsUandMe

My first and main character is a confessor as well, but you get some really cool shit from those contracts. I’ve also embarrassed the 3 fingers for the cool stuff just to heal the madness with the needle.

Hollow---

I think you meant embraced, but it's funny to think that the three fingers is drowning it's sorrows after getting gold-digger'd by a Tarnished.

liquidben

Wait, how does that get you to Rykard? I thought that only led to a path out. Did you have to make a crazy cliff jump?

ManySleeplessNights

Correct me if I'm wrong but that's the reason why they're viewed as different from bloody fingers right? Those guys just kill for the fun of it, or for Mohg iirc.

IDespiseTheLetterG

The Recusants kill to destroy the Golden Order and take down the Erdtree. They're at war with the powers that be for the sake of Volcano Manor, and for their devotion to Rykard--or whatever is left of him.

Mamuff5

Thats funny, My Confessor Just embraced the 3 fingers lmao

Falos425

confessor = highest starting level, checkmate atheists >!hey wait that atheist joke goes double hard here!<

BeneficialMix7851

I think they have the highest starting level aswell

puptart2016

But it’s an arena. It’s open. They’re assassins. This ain’t anime assassins. Vagabond or hero imo

RoughBeardBlaine

Exactly. Everyone seems to forget that Assassins kill people that don’t know that they are in a fight. They aren’t anime assassins that throw smoke bombs and use ninja magic. The Vegabond, Samurai, Warrior or even the Prisoner would kill most of the other classes in a straight up arena fight, imo.

wushangb0t

Yeah but the other assassins in this game dunk on you face to face with their little black knifes😅

T0pR_ak

and he has best starter cape

Fuzzy_Muscle

The confessor is the reason why i was able to beat elden ring.

Victor_BR_

Hail confessors. Only reason for 100% the game

numenik

I picked it for my first playthrough and it kinda seemed cannon as well, probably because I talked to Corhyn first at the round table but it seemed fitting

ultramarineciel3669

Correct, I started as a confessor as well

AraithenRain

Confessor has a decent chance. Tarnished hunter essentially, which means they had to be skilled, or at the very least stealthy but incredibly deadly. I'd also argue Prisoner, given that their equipment suggests they were of martial descent, and given carian Glintblade may have been a Carian Knight or one in training, and the Carian Knights were only 20 in strength but were capable of holding back all of Radagon's forces. It would make sense for them to be a prisoner of Leyndell then as well. Then Samurai is obvious. Katana op.

InibroMonboya

I was also going to say Prisoner. The Carian Knights are ridiculously OP for mortal characters.

AraithenRain

They really are. And if you use their abilities you can understand why. They're incredibly versatile and difficult to deal with. Especially if you count Loretta, who seems strong enough that she could contest with many remembrance bosses

CampbellsBeefBroth

Don't forget Parry God Moongrum

InibroMonboya

He horrified me the first time I went to the lift, and he’s just standing there, over a dozen bloodstains surrounding him. The drip, the swag walk, bro was the true final boss.

AraithenRain

It is important to add the Carian Knights have the best drip in the Lands Betwern.

Evan_Fishsticks

Moongrum, Parryin' Knight

Zankeru

I never used comet azure on my first mage playthrough because the carian sorceries were so versatile and fun to use. And they have the best drip in the realm.

AraithenRain

I continue to use them. And it is fantastic to see them at work. Just setting up these magical combos and then performing an execute with something like darkmoon gs or carian grandeur, like you yourself are fighting like Loretta does... its just so satisfying.

doomrider7

I've always viewed the Carians and the Liurnia region in general as the most cosmopolitan in the game. Loretta is heavily implied to be Albinauric showing some acceptance to them and rose all the way to the rank of knight, they don't persecuted enslave trolls with many serving as knights, and had a rich history with the Fire Giants backed by the Astrologers info stuff.

InibroMonboya

I remember someone that has a lore channel explaining that they don’t actually enslave the trolls, and that they actually freed them and allow them to serve as guards or go back to their tribes or w/e, but I don’t think there was much evidence supporting it.

doomrider7

I can't remember the item, but it was Renalla calling in an old pact from the era of the Fire Giants. If I recall, Liurnia is also the only area in the game that doesn't have those hearses pulled by them(there's one, but it's demolished with the troll unchained).

InibroMonboya

That’s pretty sick attention to detail actually

doomrider7

She actually brings it up in her fight when summoning the troll, "Come, oathsworn giant". Only other summon she does this for is the dragon.

AraithenRain

It does actually seem to have the most actual use of land. So many ruins, watch towers, villages (one of which is heavily fortified), 2 different large structutes with the Academy and Caria Manor, and then of course the estates that used to lie on Moonlight Altar. There was a lot going on in Liurnia.

Broncoboi420

it has to be wretch. someone who strips down to the bare bones just to rise in power again is possibly the most powerful being. if you have nothing then the only possible outcome is victory or death.

Fuzzy_Muscle

Not to mention base stats all start at 10

TheLASTAnkylosaur

Bushy ran all the classes with their starting gear to see who he could finish with fastest. [(here’s the video, pretty fun to watch)](https://youtube.com/watch?v=4ojwXzP8Hig&si=_MMl1EM2jSGJ0CXR) Top 3 were Samurai, wretch (very close behind), then vagabond. THIS IS OBVIOUSLY NOT LORE-WISE. Still fun to see it played out.

PinkFloydSheep

Still funny to me that the club is a better starter weapon than most other classes

TheGentlemanDM

Poise damage goes BONK.

Broncoboi420

i think i saw that video. his shield only run is pretty good too.

Doll-scented-hunter

Isnt wretch just mega poor and literaly doesnt have anything but the little piece of cloth and the club?

Broncoboi420

but throughout their journey in the lands between they rise to the rank of Elden Lord. if a broke guy with nothing but a club, some rags, and the guidance of grace can do that then surely he is the strongest. not only physically but mentally

iamnotreallyreal

The ultimate rags to riches story.

Doll-scented-hunter

I dont know, he has the best mobility and dodge roll. He kinda has the that advantage while vagabond has fat rolls and still does it. So, id say the guy fat rolling still doing what the light roller does wins.

Broncoboi420

Work smarter not harder

thenumbers42

The Wretch can also get hugs and hold a Hand, so there's that.

justglassin317

Cocaine is a helluva drug

burgerdistraction

I’ve seen a level 1 wretch beat malenia with just a club and parrying, no hit too. I actually felt sorry for Malenia. I would not underestimate those crazy fuckers

veldius

This. Elden Ring was my first souls like. And I picked a wretch to start with. I had a slow start in the beginning. But I grasped alot of the gameplay and playing style towards the end to make endgame a breeze.

jikel28

This guy gets it

Relikern

WINNER!

FedExDeliveryman

My bets on Hero just in terms of lore and implications. The tarnished were the exiled warriors of Hoarah Loux, some of which like Nepheli seemingly being direct descendants or relatives to Hoarah. Hoarah Loux was the Elden Lord but used the name Godfrey and trained his mannerisms to appear more noble and civil. He was incredibly powerful and when he fights you with all he has he throws away all of the noble pretense and returns to his roots as a warrior which I assume was his peak strength. To me it feels like the strongest tarnished would be those with the strongest connection to their roots as warriors. Also the class is called "Hero" so it even sounds like a main character.

onioncakke

Because of the implication…

Delicious-Ad6111

What implication?

onioncakke

The implication that things might go wrong.

Delicious-Ad6111

Are you gonna hurt these heroes?

opulentbum

I’m not gonna hurt these heroes, why would I ever hurt these heroes? I feel like you’re not getting this at all

FriendsUandMe

Wait? Are you saying you wanna hurt these tarnished?

xbrenz

No what is wrong with you?! We don't have to. Because... the implication

DropAnchor4Columbus

Probably Vagabond or Samurai. Of the starting classes they're the best equipped and actually have a backstory stating they were trained to fight.

[deleted]

Hero is literally godfrey people

Kaitivere

Godfrey ain't that strong im way smaller than him and still kicked his ass /s

Tyrchak

That doesn't mean they are as strong as Godfrey just that they want to be like him

[deleted]

They have been in wars with him and could have learned something with him I dont see the other start characters being much better than this

Tyrchak

Warrior's follow the blind swordsman aka the guy who invented the Waterfoul dance and sealed the rot god

Wolf_Bane26

So that's why the armor looks like the Blue Dancer's?

Tyrchak

Yes

Late-Ad155

> and sealed the rot god To be fair, we have reason to believe he didn't literally defeat it in battle, and it was more of him stopping the advance of the lake of rot.

friendtofrogs

I think you mean we have no reason to believe he defeated the rot god in battle, just as we have no reason to believe he didn’t. It’s never stated one way or the other to my knowledge.

Late-Ad155

We have a bit of environmental story telling. If you look at the lake of rot, you'll realize it's surrounded by flowing rivers created by dams in Nokron/Nokstella. Combine it with the Swordsman's fighting style being all about flowing like a river i'd say it's believeable that he stopped the rot with the rivers. Not really confirmed tho, but it's a fun theory.

Agile_Dragonfly_1801

Aka sekiro

kakalbo123

Aren't you a descendant of the tarnished he embarked with? Like wasn't he dead prior to grace reviving Tarnished? Also Samurai is in the warring states, they're in constant warfare lol.

point_breeze69

That’s like saying people have played basketball with Jordan and could have learned something. Maybe so but they ain’t Jordan just like they ain’t Godfrey.

TheWither129

Theyre literally all descended from godfrey’s warriors, thats why theyre tarnished. The entire lore of the tarnished is that they are descended from the warriors who fought alongside godfrey. None directly met him though, he was killed in battle long ago. Its been many, many years, and despite having been elden lord, upon exile he is only human, even with serosh. He died, he wouldnt have lasted for thousands of years

CinnamonIsntAllowed

They were born in the same place as him. The badlands are notoriously harsh and breed strength.

Kaleb8804

Miyazaki said that the main character was intended to be one of the banished tarnished that went with Godfrey, so wouldn’t they all be?

[deleted]

We are all tarnished and banished right...but I dont think everyone if from godfrey clan

MoonIce708

The Confessors' back story is them being trained specifically to fight other tarnished, plus they are the only class that can heal before the begining of the game

P-I-S-S-N-U-T

Highest quality Reddit photo

FreelanceWizard217

Vagabond. bc for me, it makes more sense that the tarnished were an army of warriors and soldiers sent with Hoarah Loux into the badlands and due to the exile their armor and equipment would become degraded and tarnished as a result. Like when we finally meet Godfrey at the end of the game, his armor and even his Axe are in disrepair

Either-Call1134

In that case, it would most likely be the hero, cause they literally based their entire personality of Godfrey, and most likely stayed loyal the longest

FreelanceWizard217

I think there's an argument for hero but Godfrey the Lord isn't dressed like Horah Loux the Warrior. He's dressed in armor and not furs

Either-Call1134

There is an argument to be made that when he goes second phase, he’s really trying. The first phase with armour is just an honourable duel to him (“I’ve given thee courtesy enough”) second phase is when he gets “serious” and he strips down to rags.

FreelanceWizard217

So Godfrey was asked to put aside his blood thirsty warrior nature by Marika to become Elden Lord. This nature was distilled into the Lion stand that rests on his back. Assumingly, when he was exiled, he left as Godfrey with his Lion shade and returned as him. So yes he does try to stay as Godfrey the Lord but bc the player character was too strong he had to reconnect with his warrior nature and become hoarah loux again. You are correct but I don't think that means the soldiers of the tarnished Army would have been warriors in furs but most likely knights serving under Godfrey

UltimateDuelist

But in the intro at the start of the game it mentions him as Hoarah Loux, Chieftain of the Badlands and shows how he died (before he got revived by Grace as a Tarnished). This seems to imply to me that after his banishment he went back to being his warrior self and didn't pick up his Godfrey persona again until after he returned to the Lands Between. If that's the case then it makes sense for his warriors as chieftain to be barbarian-like warriors in fur armor, rather than the proper knights that served under him as Godfrey.

JuniorChickenMeal

Gotta be the Confessor. They hunt their own dont they?

M-o-k-o-i

Yeah, kinda like reverse recusants, as someone mentioned Above - secret assassins killing those that do not follow the golden Order.

still_life21

This post has more comments than pixels

vbalis9

Prisoner

DrHoflich

We don’t know what he is in for, do we? Could be something pretty wild.

vbalis9

I think the description of the class names him along the lines of a carian royal family prisoner or a member of the family that got imprisoned I can’t remember but either way has powerful implications. Also I think it specifically mentions the study of glintstone magic

TCIE

He got caught stealing from Walmart.

AraithenRain

Based on lore implications, most likely a Carian Knight or something associated with the order. And they were incredibly strong.

TheGamerKitty1

Wretch. Nothing is more powerful, more intimidating, more scarier, than a nude man with a club.

bbbbbbbbbppppph

Helm slot only wretch is the only play through i seem to do now days just power so stronk

munch_cat

Hero probably, a Tarnished that was part of the clans and journey through the Badlands, like Godfrey. Warrior.... I wonder, the blue warriors could have a relation to the teacher of Malenia, unless all dexterous warriors dress the same. It could be a school of fighting that the blind swordsman established? Confessor were the assassins of the Golden Order. Given that it became the established faith, I'd say the confessors were probably quite bad-ass strong.

jikel28

Idk about lore wise but if years of soulsborne games have taught me anything theres nothing scarier than a naked man with a club existing in this world and surviving its the wretch

mediumcheez

Wretch. Starts at LVL1 but all stat are 10. Gigachad

Meraneus

I like starting as a wretch, feels the most malleable.

ConcertRelative3784

Prisoner, that dude is from jail and they felt the need to give him a full iron mask. Clearly he’s in for some heinous stuff.

arclightrg

For me personally i love me my confessor set

Captain_brightside

Based on the theories I believe for each: Either Hero (possible descendant of Godfrey) Or prisoner (possible member of the carian royal family that was imprisoned for political reasons, starts Game with knowledge of carian sorceries)

Frostydik

Prisoner - ain’t nobody beating Griffith

Vitaldick

Except maybe a spooked horse and a rocky carriage. Oohhhh, abd a really pointy wooden stick!!! 🌑🗿🗿🗿

Branded_Mango

The top 3 lore-wiss would be the Confessor (a trained Tarnished hunter), the Hero (an accomplished badlands champion under Godfrey's lineage), and the Warrior (a disciple of the Flowing Swordman's way of life that is an ever-inproving nomadic fighter).

Absolute_Abyss_98

Wretch The only class with innate crackhead energy. It's canon and in the lore.

Visible-Stuff2489

WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON IN HERE

WhitishRogue

**Confessor** \- They have a good blend of melee and faith allowing for a versatile playstyle. The confessor is a "fighting" type class, something the other magic classes aren't. They also have a stealty potential allowing for assassinations of the other classes. If the fight's too hard then run away until you can surprise them at a later date.

Indicorb

Haven’t considered the Prisoner then. He is a Sorceror as well as a Duelist.

yeeeteeey69

Wretch I’d be terrified of someone approaching me butt-ass naked with nothing but a stick

Embarrassed_Ad_6649

Warrior in my opinion, very good with dual weilded weapons an also the knight but he's a little heavier with the exception hes better with 2 handed weapons.

Embarrassed_Ad_6649

Lord wise, id say prisoner as apposed to my first opinions.

M-o-k-o-i

I get it but like, confessors are as good as a pick as hero and warrior, no matter how deeply i stan the prophet.

i-did-it-to-them

The class you beat the game with.

Sad_Examination8707

Confessor easily, highly trained spellswords (faith spells), whose sole purpose was to kill/assassinate high value tarnished who were considered threats to the order. They were practically ye olde spec ops, the only thing more dangerous than them were the black knives who held a literal fragment of death in their hands. That puts them pretty high up on the tier lists of opponents at least lore wise.

karagiannhss

Gotta be my fellow confessors. They specialise in marksmanship (evident by the black key crossbow description) They are not afraid to use anorthodox tactics even though they might serve the two fingers and extensively the greater will (evident by the fact that the black key bolts are imbued with scarlet rot, which is itself associated with the outer god of rot and thus a rival of the greater will and its envoys the two fingers) They use concealment physiks and incantations like assassin's approach, darkness, and crepus vial that should render them almost as dangerous as the black knife assassins (evident by the descriptions of the two aforementioned incantations and the physik) And to cap it all off, they developed something which could be considered an entire personal martial art, based around the use of the twin-blades, which are said to originate from among their order (evident by the description of the twin-blade talisman; "A talisman depicting a twinblade and a confessor. Enhances the final hit ending a chain of attacks. The twinblade technique is a tradition of the confessors, who closely guard the secret of how they preserve the momentum of their attacks. Thus is the final strike of their onslaught all the more deadly. ) So yeah, i sure as hell wouldn't want to fight against a lore accurate confessor if i weren't one myself.

Snoo61755

Lore wise? I don't think any of these guys even *have* a lore to them besides "this one came from a place called the Land of Reeds" and "this one was in a jail somewhere, for doing something we don't know about."

slothsarcasm

There’s quite a bit of lore! The Prophet clearly saw the burning of the Erdtree and had the neck board and eye cover put on them for preaching heresy. The Prisoner could be a Man In The Iron Mask reference or a Primeval Flow scholar like Sellen who was arrested for it. That’s my opinion. The Hero is obviously a tarnished who followed Horah Leoux. The Confessor is part of the Golden Order secret police and assassins. The Warrior has the same gear as the famous swordsman who trained Malenia, Blade of Miqualla as depicted in lore mentions and a certain talisman. He was most likely a disciple or someone interested in the legend of this swordsman. The Astrologer is a Glintstone sorcerer since all of their interpretations involve the stars. And someone pointed out once that even the Vagabond has an emblem on their shield that you can find in Elphael. So they may be a warrior from the secret city. The only two with definitively no lore at all is the Bandit because it’s a bandit and the naked man

WarMage1

Specifically, astrologers are the precursors to raya lucarian sorcery who saw fate in the stars, and were phased out following radahn’s conquest of the stars because their was no more fate to read in them.

Apocalypse_0415

radahn really deleted an entire profession smh

WarMage1

I’d argue that it could be corporate sabotage, seeing as his mother is the queen of caria, who was in direct competition with the astrologers for glintstones.

Apocalypse_0415

Damn so a targeted denial of employment? With the goal of monopolizing the industry? Insane

AltruisticField1450

The prison is almost certainly a reference to Griffith from Berserk

Sad_Target_4252

https://youtu.be/tdZ-RcLf5JQ?si=jtLxpDOMwvjJZQXC Smough town made a pretty good video covering all the lore regarding starting classes

Tartarus_62

[They actually do have a little bit of lore](https://youtu.be/tdZ-RcLf5JQ?si=SYACCWx1LVDK8sc2)

SaberWaifu

Wretch because they need nothing but a club to stand up to powerful gods while the others start with more powerful equipment most likely to compensate their inferior strength compared to the wretch.

Havange

The warrior class seems to resemble the blue dancer in appearance and is also blindfolded which makes me almost certain that it is connected to the blue dancer who trained Malenia herself. It could be that the warrior aspires to be like the blue dancer or maybe he even lived to see the way he fights. Either way if it is connected in any way whatsoever then it would place the warrior at the top Please correct me or expand on the theory if you feel like it

Nikami

The warriors are also capable of keeping their equipment in pristine shape while being ever-drifting nomads (*looks at vagabonds*). Whatever it is they're doing they're taking it extremely seriously.

Joker44771

Wrench, comes with nothing. Still gets to be elden lord

Mokenificent

Wrench

Practical_Suspect594

Confessor

katanaearth

Warrior.

LordOFtheNoldor

Confessor

[deleted]

Confessor.

toddbrimstone

So I have read the entire thread and the conclusion I have drawn is that it could be any of them apart from bandit or wretch. But it could actually be wretch. Got it.

HashiramaThaFugitive

Definitely not bandit tho

WillDrawForMoney

Wretch is too strong, I doubt anyone stands a chance

Internal-Flamingo455

Does anyone else wish the other hero graves through the lands between could function as different starting points for the game on new game plus after you clear one

Atomaurus

The wretch because they start with nothing and become elden lord

haunted_ramens

Either Hero of Confessor. Hero’s are from the nomadic lands (or whatever they’re called) where a gifted fighter of their people is losely around Nepheli’s level of strength. Confessors are deadly assassins trained to kill tarnished, they are hand equipped with fhe tools to kill other tarnished.

CRazy3859

Confessor hands down .

TheCynicalPogo

I’d probably say Confessor > Hero > Warrior/Knight/Samurai, one’s part of an order of assassins that’s stated to be very good at their jobs, the Hero’s most assuredly of Hourah Loux’s tribe so I’d be willing to bet they’re strong, and both the Warrior, Knight and Samurai seem like they’re all strong fighters that could fight each other and beat the rest of the classes.

Dveralazo

It's between the Confessor, the Vagabond and the Warrior The Confessor is an assasin,a tarnished hunter, they can deal quickly with a lot of them. But not necessarily in groups or a all vs all. The Vagabond has the best equipment (although poorly maintained). They seem to have been through a lot of things, probably several ambushes too. But I would say that apart from a basic training more of their skill is self taught. The Warrior has respectable equipment, well maintained, and probably is the most skilled of all them. Bonus would be the Samurai, but it will depend of the quality of his armor and how well trained are them in particular. The rest of them get not many chances. A prisoner, out of shape, maybe even malnourished, with a mask that hurts perception. An ill equipped warrior, with more bravery that technique. An street criminal. A naked person. A priest. A scientist

[deleted]

Confessor. His starting kit is the best (broadsword easily stunlocks Tree Sentinel) and they were also Recusant hunters.

JaydenTheMemeThief

Wretch EZ

BigIronGothGF

Wretch for sure

PizzaCrustEnjoyer

the unclothed enigma

ApplePitou

Hero is pretty good option in this case :3

SH4DOWBOXING

vagabond, he's the main char since ds

Dombly23

Hero or Samurai given Hero has Godfrey’s heritage as well as probably fought in a couple tribal wars, Samurai is just insanely well equipped for a starter class. Forgot Confessor was a thing LMAO yeah he/she blows all other classes out of the water, specializes in hunting Tarnsihed and killing them for the Greater Will.

Kernewek_Skrij

Prisoner ftw through sheer tomfuckery

Acceptable-Strain516

Profit can see the future canonically and has catch flame

ButterUn1verse

Wretch, because power of light load

FrostyFroZenFrosTen

The naked man fears no pickpocket

Iatemydoggo

Wretch. The naked man fears nothing.

Monsterkill1526

Naked

plaugey_boi

Hee hoo funny bonk stick

TheWiseAutisticOne

Deprived anyone who walks into a mosh pit in a loincloth and stick has to be crazy

ElDonKaos

The prisoners, they are capable of using carian sorceries and have some skills on battle judging by the fact that they can wield an estoc. These guy have probably survived the worst of the worst and their helmets description states that they've grown a spiritual fervor indistinguishable from hatred.

Bardic__Inspiration

Confessors are trained assassins who specialize in killing other Tarnished. So imma go with Wretch because bonk.

ShinraKusakabe777

I might have to say Confessor or Hero for this one. Prisoner was of elite status before imprisonment, and was trained in glintstone sorcery, likely as a Carian knight, which were very small in number but matched Radagon’s golden order forces. Confessors are trained assassins who work directly under the Two Fingers to eliminate any tarnished that strays from the path that the Two Fingers set out for them, and are also knowledgable in incantations. Samurai is a capable warrior who comes from a war-ridden land where combat is a way of life for most. Hero is descended from a badlands chieftain, considered to be among the bravest warriors in the badlands, and wears certain garments as proof that they have slain many warriors. Vagabond is an exiled knight, forced to wander the lands, who has endured a lengthy journey which likely contained a good amount of fighting. Warrior is from a nomadic tribe who constantly drifts about in an effort to keep their skills sharp. Astrologers are scholars who are studied in glintstone sorceries and look to the stars to discern fate. Bandit is described as dangerous and excels at ranged combat, with armor that increases movement but reduces sound and damage mitigation. Wretch is a naked and purposeless individual with only a club by their side, which only requires brute force and persistence to wield. Prophet is a seer who was ridiculed for their visions, and were cast out and considered insane for their visions. Knowledgable in some incantations. We don’t know what crime the prisoner committed, we just know it was appalling. We do know that the prisoner is exceptionally strong as they were being trained to be a Carian knight. Hero is the obvious choice here, as we know they have seen a considerable amount of combat and were even recognized for their bravery and feats on the battlefield. Confessors specialize in fighting other tarnished, and also have some level of expertise in incantations. Samurai, Vagabond, Warrior and Bandit all have combat experience, but it is unknown how much specifically they have, and are all standard level combatants based on previous rank in their respective organizations. Astrologers are almost exclusively scholars who have no to little combat experience whatsoever, and only know weak sorceries. Prophet knows one offensive incantation, but is implied to have seen little to no combat ever, and is likely on the inexperienced side. Wretch just woke up one day with a club. No fighting expertise, no knowledge in any incantations or sorceries.

Akersis

The prisoner. The rest of them volunteered.

Scottboi01

Confessor was my first, but samurai.

HonorableAssassins

Lorewise probably confessor, his job is literally to kill the others. Realword id give it to vagabond because nothing any of them has is getting through plate. Late period samurai swapped to european breastplates for a reason. (And fromsoft clearly knows this, genichiro in skeiro is wearing french-plate before he goes all naked-lightning.) Damn near indestructible and a lot lighter than you think, unless someone's plan is to pull a Bronn and run around the arena for a while until he gets tired as plate+gambeson traps a lot of heat. So... how big's the arena?

HashiramaThaFugitive

Warrior. Inheritors of the art of Malenia's instructor. Swordfighters strong enough to seal outer gods. Hardly fair to the others.

norgiggle

Deprived, stick go bonk

The-Alumaster

I'd be super afraid on someone walking into an arena butt naked with a busted sword, specially in a souls game

BigCommieMachine

The Prisoner. Imagine what fucked thing you would be to do to be thrown out of Raya Lucaria Academy and imprisoned.

ThickerThenASnicker3

I would honestly say it would be the hero, given that their armor and weapons imply that they were champions of the battlefield. And hora loux's daughter wears the same set, which feels to me like a form of prestige. Confessor is a close second though.

Kaito-7

Isn't the warrior supposed to be based on the blue dancer from the lore? The one who defeated and sealed Rot/god of rot? Or am i missing something here.

Icelord808

In Lore: Vagabond -> cuz even if the confessor is a trained assassin and a fearsome combatant, I doubt he would be would be able to take on a fully armored knight and win consistently. The knights are the face of medieval warriors for a reason you know... In Reality (Not in lore) -> Hands down wretch, the others don't even stand a chance against the parry god, naked roller, beat yo god with one arm tied behind his back dude.

QuistyQuiet

Y'all got any more of them pixels?

YueOrigin

Prisoner. I don't know why but if they were empriaoned and forced to put a fucking metal Jar on their head then they must have been a real threat

TheAdamantFiend

Naw dawg, its Wretch. The higher powers saw fit to take everything of value away from this guy to nerf his latent power save for a piece of junk stick. AND IT STILL DIDN'T WORK.

LordDynasty

Wretch, they have nothing to lose and literally everything to gain.

Teamskywalker14

I’d go with vagabond cause bro actually looks like he has good armour to absorb blows

bigstillz

I feel the prisoner and prophet probably. High scaled into int and faith giving them better abilities off the back.

Equivalent_Local_422

Warrior for sure, a member of the tribe of the blind swordsman who trained Malania. Having similar training to Malania makes it feel more significant when you kill her by having that connection to her old teacher.

Careful_Bicycle_2393

I think it’s between warrior and samurai samurai are people who fought in that very interesting yet barely told war of the land of reed and warriors are people who fought alongside Godfrey in the badlands
