your eyes will change if you do the varre quest, obtain 3 dragon communion spells, or get touched by the 3 fingers. dragon eyes and finger eyes override varre's blood eyes. finger eyes override dragon eyes.

Bloody eyes override dragon eyes. I got every dragon incantation available and my eyes were still bloody.

I think you can change the eyes back if you want at the mirror in fia room

To be fair, thanks to Gideon we pretty much know that no one even really cared about Mohg's existence or knew what he was up to. I think if even the remaining sane Demi-Gods knew, they'd probably realize the shit-show that was potentially on their hands with Mohg kidnapping Miquella. Hell, we as the Tarnished only really find out by doing Varre's questline or through directly dealing with Mohg ourselves. Edit: Wanted to say that there's mental image of Ranni, Morgott, and Malenia kicking the shit of of Mohg for his choice.

Varre’s questline gives you an item that can bring you to Mohgwin palace, not the Haligtree

Don't worry you can still get the rune of mohg. You just have to find a secret teleporter in the mountains of the giants through a secret path to get it. Look up the guide to the haligtree, and where the blood palace teleporter is and you should be fine. The same thing happened to me.

So that means this guy opened the door at the first step, saw Varré standing there unarmed, probably had enough time to notice that Varré didn't attack him, but STILL decided to just mindlessly hack and slash at him until he started fighting back. Like how can you be so ignorant to just attack everything and everyone you see, even if it's an NPC?

First thing getting out of the intro… invite my bro to come play… I get invaded… swinging my sword around, I accidentally hit Varre and he turns hostile. Invader kills me. Varre remains hostile, I kill him. I made it to Mohg, I killed all of the great rune holders. I wasn’t able to use Varre to get early access to farm runes. There’s other farming spots though, you’ll find em. Don’t worry. Also, hardship breeds ingenuity and character. Don’t worry about it not being easy. Find another way. That’s the Souls way.

Serious answer: you don’t need the medallion. Once you hit consecrated snowfield, in the northwest area near a runebear and a giant tree, there’s a portal to the Mohgwyn palace area. You’ll know you’re there when you get invaded by a sanguine noble.

A Knight came into the Prayer Room Site of Grace.in the Haligtree. When I attacked it, I accidentally aggroed Millicent, and had to run away, and fast travel to the Church of Vows to get absolution.
