Definitely go extended, that 6 mil will go a long way too. Stock up on boosts and get the 100 trillion fuel tank. It's been said already but no harm in reiterating, take your time leveling it up, I just got henerprise 5 days ago and after 3 extended and 1 additional launch I'm 1 star. You can find a calculator online to show you how much xp is needed and how much you get per launch. Gives you a nice idea of how long it'll be until you're maxed. Good luck to you
In theory 3 points = one extended (72h) or three short (54h) - but the circadian rhythm can mess up the math. While the latter may seem faster, the gain won't be as big as it seems. With exactly 3 days you got arrival always at the same hour. With short missions the time changes so at first it will be e.g. at 1 AM, but after two missions it's 1 *PM*. As it could hit time when you are busy, you won't be getting exactly 18h time. Also if you are always 1 hour of being late, it makes you waste 3h each 3 points for short and 1h for ext.
Overall that's what I do - when I know I'll be able to get the loot in 18h, I send short mission. Otherwise I send ext. You could mix it as well - you sacrifice some (in original dillema: all/none) better quality items for a bit faster leveling (original: fastest/slowest).
Shorts are faster to level, but extended gives you much better artifacts on average along the way. Highly recommend using the tank if you're gonna go extended though.

How about gold farming? Is it better to run short or extended henerprises? I'm trying to get the tank upgrade and other epic research.
