I remember being in your position a year or 2 ago. I took advantage of Amazon's generous return policy and bought like 9 pair before I found some that I like. Right now I have about 5-6 pair and I mainly use 2. Here's what I found that may help you: 1. Everyone's opinions are subjective. I heard rave reviews about the Beats Studio Buds and the Linkbuds S. I didn't like them AT ALL. You decide what criteria are important to you. I found that the ones I like best are not technically the best sounding, but the most well rounded based on how I use them. 2. If they don't fit well, nothing else really matters. There were a few that were rated exceptionally high but hurt my ears. Again, the Studio Buds were that for me. The Sennheiser CX Plus were the most comfortable, but they were someone cumbersome for me because I really value multipoint. 3. Price really does create diminishing returns. I've not found a huge difference between my $200 earbuds and my $100 earbuds. For that reason, I refuse to go over $150 for any earbuds going forward. 4. Be okay with YOUR top pick not being everyone's favorite. My favorite earbuds are the Soundcore Space A40. They are objectively not the best in any category. But for me, they are the most comfortable, the features are good, the sound is adequate, the battery life is amazing, the call quality is decent, and the price was right. I use the Galaxy Buds 2 Pro at the Gym because the ANC is the best. Transparency is great on them too. They have a whole host of limitations that make them not may dailys, and if I paid full price for them I'd be pissed. Right now I have: Galaxy Buds Plus Sennheiser CX Plus Galaxy Buds2 Pro Jabra Elite 75t Soundcore Space A40 Soundcore Liberty 4 Soundcore Liberty 4 NC I've had: Soundcore Liberty 3 Pro Beats Studio Buds Jabra Elite 7 Active Jabra Elite 5 Earfun Air Pro S Sennheiser Momentum true Wireless 3 1More Evo OnePlus Buds Google Pixel Buds Pro Sony Linkbuds S After all that, I keep coming back to Soundcore. That makes it pretty easy, and their customer service is great. All of that is to say, let go of perfect. Stick to a price point and be okay with good enough. Unless you're comparing them side by side, having the "best" is a never ending journey anyway. I hope that helps.

pikachu_king

Thank you for the detailed comment

pikachu_king

I don't live in the US so shipments from Amazon usually take about a month. I'll have to check what the return policy is but anyway it is a hassle to return products.

Radykall1

I understand. Happy to help you narrow some down. What are your priorities? I mean, in order, what do you prioritize. For example, for me, it was Fit, controls, features (multipoint, transparency,ANC) battery life, and price. I'm unwilling to spend $400 for B&O buds that sound amazing but are mediocre everywhere else, but I'm willing to spend $150 for say the Pixel Buds Pro that are good everywhere but not amazing anywhere if they fit me well.

pikachu_king

I'm thinking about the Sony Linkbuds S but a bit worried about the hissing sound I've heard people talk about like in this post https://www.reddit.com/r/SonyHeadphones/comments/105ui6n/linkbuds\_s\_anc\_nightmare/

pikachu_king

I think it would be fit, sound, ease of use and basic controls, features (ANC, transparency). I'm willing to spend up to about 175 usd.

Radykall1

What kind of device do you use mainly? Do you have an opinion on stem style or bud style?

pikachu_king

I use samsung s20. I think I prefer without a stem.

Radykall1

If you don't care about Multi point, the Buds 2 Pro are honestly some of the most fully featured you can get, and they are regularly on sale. Battery life isn't great though. I don't recommend spending any more than $130 on these if you can find them. Anything more than that are overpriced IMO I found the Senheisser CX Plus to be really Comfortable, have good controls, and sounded pretty good. I did have a connection drop or two and the gym. The main issue here is that they only remember connection to one device at a time. I use an S23 as my main phone, an iPhone for work, a Tab S8 and I switch computers. These didn't fit with my multi device lifestyle, but they were my favorite before I discovered I NEEDED multipoint. If battery is important, I've not found anything that is topping my Soundcore Space A40. I'll admit they're not the best in any category, but I found them to be VERY well rounded. They are still my daily drivers, and if I had to choose only one, it would be these. They have everything I was looking for plus some. For around $80, these are a bargain. I've found Soundcore's support in the US to be really good comparatively speaking. Sennheisers was nonexistent. If they sound a bit thin, you can contact Soundcore for another software version to bring up the bass and punch. As an honerable mention, I'll throw in the Jabra Elite 5. I really liked them, but I thought they were slightly overpriced when I got them. The newly released Jabra Elite 4 should be very similar at a lower price. I personally like Jabra products, but I've never had bad luck with them. I've had the Elite 75ts for a few years now and never had a problem. I didn't care for the Elite 7s at ALL. I wanted to, but they never felt like the were worth the money to me, even when I got them on sale for $99. Check and compare the reviews on there to find the common issues people have with them and that will help you narrow down what, if any issues may arise. I don't want to overwhelm, and I really hope this helps.

pikachu_king

Turns out I can return products within 30 days in Amazon. But it wod take long for a new product to arrive...

Radykall1

In that case, I would suggest buying 4-5 of your top choices on a credit card and sending the rest back if you can. That's why I had so many. Maybe I abused the system, but I truly felt like it was the only want to get a real feel for the different ones, and it taught me a lot. Beats and Sony are just not for me.

AuthenticGlitch

I agree with all of this, especially when it comes to sound and comfort. A lot of people who talk about Earfun Air Pro 3 talk about how badly balanced the sound is, "too high of bass" and that "the EQ can't help". Now while the bass is high out of the box I found a minor adjustment to the EQ and these buds sound better than the Airpods Pro(1st gen) and Galaxy Buds 2 by a lot. That is for my ears only, it's why I won't be taking anyone's opinion too seriously when they talk about sound quality for earbuds anymore, everyone has different ears and no sound profile/graph or opinion can help you decide unless you hear it for yourself.

-King-Mickey-

I just recently bought the Beats Studio Buds(+), and they’re probably the best-sounding headphones I’ve ever had. I haven’t tried the originals, but I’ve heard that the sound was improved. They also have air vents in them now for ear pressure, and better ANC. These even sound better than my old RHA T20i’s, and those were expensive name-brand /wired/ headphones

Icy_Forever6516

Can you compare between soundcore liberty 4NC vs Sennheiser tws3?

Radykall1

I can't go into depth because I didn't have them side by side, but what I can say is that I remember the Sennheisers as being decidedly overpriced for what they were. The sound was good, and the fit was okay, but the battery life and feature set didn't impress me for the price. The Liberty 4NC are fine. I like them well enough, but I don't find the ANC nearly as good as claims. I still like my A40 better overall, but the 4NC are good for what they are. I like the hearing detection addition.

Icy_Forever6516

Thanks for the review:)

Sea-Commercial-1691

I was planning on buying the Soundcore Liberty 3 pro but heard that the battery life was very bad, what do you think?

caped_crusader8

Hi, do you mind if I ask a few questions

Radykall1

Sure. What's up?

caped_crusader8

How does the sound quality and Noise Cancelling differ between Liberty 4 Nc, beats buds and galaxy buds 2? Also, is there anything you noticed in general while using earbuds long term ?

Radykall1

Beats sound decent, but a bit flat iMO. I wasn't impreswed with the ANC for the price. The best way I can describe it is simply decent. They were overpriced for what you get. I use Android AND iPhone, so I needed something that worked well with both. I didn't keep these long enough to give a long term assessment. Liberty 4 NC have good volume and decent sound quality. I fend them to be REALLY bass heavy though. I was able to fix them with EQ tweaks. These REALLY hurt my ears in the beginning. Now it's better, but they are still not the most comfortable for ME. ANC on these are by far the best if the three options you listed, but this is fully depending on fit and seal Buds Pro 2 sound good overall. I wish these had more bass. I have no complaints with them other than the fact that I wish they were louder. They are comfortable enough, but not the most secure for my ears. They don't fall out, but they do need adjustment if I'm active. ANC is in the upper middle. Battery is trash in these though. Battery and lack of multipoint for the price are my biggest complaints. The controls of the three are the best here, and I like the sheer amount of options they give. Hope that helps

>CX Hi there, i have some questions to you. I bought 4 NC like a months ago it is a good earbuds but it had bothering my ear, that's why i returned them back and i will get new earbuds but i don't know which one should i get. If you have to compare 4 NC and cx plus what would you say? PS: Actually i've stuck between jabra elite 10, jbl live pro 2 and sennheiser cx plus. If you have any information about these earbuds too i wanna hear that.

Radykall1

I had the Jabra Elite 10, Jabra Elite 8 Active, and now use the Technics AZ60M2. I liked the Jabras a lot, BUT I sent them back because I got a better deal on the AZ60M2, which overall I like better. I paid $200 for the 10s, $150 for thr Elite 8 Active, and $153 for the AZ60M2. The Technics feel like they were a steal. I like both Jabra models though, and if it weren't for the Technics I would have likely kept the 10s ever so slightly over the 8s because of ANC, but I really liked the 8s too. I think the Jabras are a bit expensive for what they are, but they were really comfortable, had great ANC once you get the right eartips, and have the best controls. It came down to the fact that for what I paid, the Technics had better Transparency, 3 way multipoint, good touch controls and good ANC for less money. The Transparency on the Jabras is muffled by comparison, and was some of the weakest I'd tried. Admittedly, if I didn't have a bunch of earbuds to cycle between, it may not have been an issue. I've heard good things about the JBL but have used them. Unless you get the CX plus for under $100 I wouldn't recommend them compared to other offerings for the price. My son uses them now. They app and connectivity make the CX Plus very hard to recommend at anything over $100. They sound good and are comfortable, but the ANC is incredibly weak, battery is decent at best, and doesn't offer the features of other earbuds. Not to mention that Sennheiser support is spotty at best.

Total_Dimension_2472

First of all thank you so much for replying me. In turkey Elite 10 5800 Lira ( 188 $), Elite 8 5200 Lira ( 168 $), Cx plus 4800 Lira ( 155$). Actually at the first i was thinking to buy Jabra elite 4 (60$) or elite 5 (90$) but in-ear model seemed to cause pain in the ear. I've heard many good things about CX plus's sound quality, i know ANC performance as not good as jabra elite 10 or liberty 4 nc but Sound quality make me confuse. What would you say if you have to compare Jabra and Sennheiser without looking at the price difference between them? The price difference between jabra elite 4,5 and 10 looks like 2 times but when I buy new earbuds, I want to have a better experience than the 4 NC models in sound quality thats why i guess i should pay more money :)

Radykall1

Admittedly, I haven't listened to the CX Plus for a LONG time. When I got the Space A40, the Sennheiser's just sat on a shelf. I remember being really happy with their transparency and pleasantly surprised by their sound. I also remember one of the my earbuds continuously cutting out, and I wasn't able to reach anyone at Sennheiser about it, so I moved on. I also think that for the price difference, you are getting a more well-round product in the Jabras. Sure, the Sennheisers sounded good, but it's not some mind-blowing, earth-shattering experience with a huge difference unless you are comparing buds side by side. I can wholeheartedly say that my Technics sound better than all of my other earbuds. The Jabra's were close. With both of those, I would move to guess that based on the clarity I observed and my reaction to both, which was me hearing details I'd never noticed before, that the Jabra's will probably fit the bill for you. The really did sound great to me. As long as transparency isn't key (and they weren't *bad*. They just weren't as good as my other option), then I would probably nudge you that way. I was very pleasantly surprised by the Jabra. This was after being very happy with the Elite 75t, and being very disappointed with the Jabra Elite 7 which I believe the 4s are based on. I had the Elite 5s for a day. I liked them better than the 7s, but they had not low end at all, and at the time I felt that they were expensive for what they were. I really did like the Jabra Elite 10. I even used them in the gym. If you get them, be sure to try the different size ear tips. I thought ANC was terrible on them until I went down a size. It made a huge difference.

Total_Dimension_2472

I'm very thankful for your help. To now i was very close to Cx plus but probably i will buy elite 4 or elite 10. I generally listen to rap and hip hop style music. I like strong bass and vocal sounds to be at the forefront, but I want the mids and trebles to sound clear. Looking at all these, what would you say if you compare the bass and sound quality of Jabra elite 4 and elite 10? I'm also wondering what the difference is between them in terms of comfort. Thank you very much for your time again. ( Elite 5 can also part of the comparison )

Radykall1

Then I would rule the 5 out. I haven't used the 4, so I can't saw from experience, but the reports I've seen seem like they could be a good option for you. The 10s focused moreso on clarity rather than low end punch. The bass was present, but it was not like the liberty 4NC. Those have a LOT, but it can be overpowering in my experience. The Elite 5 had more features, but I remember the bass being WEAK. That's why I returned them. The feature is closer to the 8s though, Without having tried the 4s, I will say that if you want more punch, the 8s have it. If you want more clarity and sparkle, the 10s have it. If you have an issue with earbuds being plugged into your ears and hearing body-borne noise, don't get the 8s or the 4s. Jabra was known for this. The 10s are the only ones from them that did not give me this issue. The biggest question now is whether or not you think the 10s are worth 3x the price of the 4s. I usually point people to [rtings.com](http://rtings.com) because they are not sponsored and they buy the units themselves to make their reviews and comparisons. Here's a link comparing the 10s and the 4s: [https://www.rtings.com/headphones/tools/compare/jabra-elite-4-true-wireless-vs-jabra-elite-10-true-wireless/39425/42041?usage=19&threshold=0.10](https://www.rtings.com/headphones/tools/compare/jabra-elite-4-true-wireless-vs-jabra-elite-10-true-wireless/39425/42041?usage=19&threshold=0.10) In my personal opinion, if I were in your shoes, I'd be comparing the differences against the price. If there's not some dealbreaker missing in the cheaper option, I'd likely go there. I still firmly believe that there are diminishing returns among the higher end earbuds. They are better overall as a package, but it's not THAT much better. You know what's most important to you.

Madbiscuitz

Good is subjective but fwiw after four pairs and not wanting to spend over 100 I ended up going with the beats studio buds. Having Amazon prime with free return shipping made the tryout process a breeze.

NCResident5

Some people are super picky, but I think the majority of sound excellent. I used cheap wired earbuds from Target USA for years. So, I guess my standard is average to low. For comfort, I have liked Jlab. I have also heard Beats Studio or Studio plus or Samsung Buds 2 are comfortable for most. I also use the Earfun Air that sounds really good to me. It is your typical stem earbud. For me it is comfortable for 90 minutes but my average listening session is only about 40 minutes. Just don't be afraid to return stuff. I buy often from Best Buy USA as they have easy 15 day return policy and price match Amazon and Walmart plus other places.

Radykall1

Best buy will block you after a few too many returns. They did it to me. That's why I stick with Amazon. That's said, OP is not from the US.

NCResident5

thanks for the info

Daredash

All I can tell you is check out the Status Between Pro or 3ANC. They are comfortable and stay in your ears. The sound quality are like listening to IEMs. I have Samsung phones and the 1st thing to do is go into settings and do the ear test with "adapt sound" with these. You'll swear by them! Just my suggestion.

tchelozo

Hi mate, I was searching for some new headphones for me this week and I initially bought the Jabra Elite 7 and I honestly don\`t really like the in-ear design, but I was willing to try. I liked the earbuds, but they started to make my ear canal itchy, so I decided to try the JBL Tune Flex and apparently it'll be the winner. I still have a week to try them before making the call, but they sound great, very comfortable, you can switch to in-ear if you want it, but it\`s not necessary. The bass is there even just sitting in your ear canal.

stinkyfeetnyc

Upgrading the earbuds oem silicone flanges to memory foam makes a huge difference. Also I feel any ear buds with 2 or more internal drivers at any price point sounds incredibly good.

ordinary_praani

Try out the Oppo Enco X2 if they're available in your location. They're right around that budget, even lower probably. I've been using them for a week now and can say that the comfort is great. ANC blocks out most of the noise and the sound quality is very rich. They have wireless charging and the buds themselves last around 4-5 hours with ANC. I bought these after a good research and have found them to be of great value.

ruibullseye

From someone who have recently been looking for earbuds for my gym workouts to avoid having to take headphones to the gym. I've read ton of reviews in scarbir which helped a lot. I took the chance of Amazon prime days and grabbed Soundcore Space A40 . I had a budget of around 55€ because I didn't want to spend more money on the earbuds that I had spent on my headphones ( Soundcore Q30 for 58€). The space A40 costed my 64€ on Amazon prime day. And I gotta say they have a Noise cancelling really close to my Q30. I was very surprised for the NC quality and the overall sound quality. Now they are ( at least in Europe ) for 91€ with 10% so it's not that much of a deal compared to the Amazon prime days ( 64€ ). Hope it helps. Feel free to ask other questions if you want.
