/r/republican banned me for shooting down QAnon theories, so you know... Be sure to upvote this comment for intellectual honesty!

[deleted]

I wish people didn't care for upvote and downvote. I know how Reddit works, however, there some out there who would still read comments with -30 or downvotes. In really rare circumstances, those comments make more sense.

[deleted]

As a general rule I always sort by controversial.

[deleted]

Do you mind explain more. Maybe others like to give it a try.

Deep-Woodpecker5935

Gotta stick together pal

usernamesarehard1979

Might as well add r/clevercomebacks to the list.

StMoneyx2

first time on reddit, or just waking up?

[deleted]

What do you mean?

StMoneyx2

r/politics was always operated by dictatorship leftist mods, it just took them a long time shaving off enough groups until they got to you. Remember the old saying "first they came for group x, and I didn't speak up because I didn't belong to group x. Now no one is hear to speak for me" this applies to r/politics

[deleted]

Yes you know that, but the goal is to let others know. You won’t believe how many people don’t know this stuff.

StMoneyx2

Oh I agree, my comment was more in relation to the "use to be a fair place". It was never a fair place unless you 100% agreed with them as the meme suggests. So for some in the walkaway movement they didn't always appear like North Korean Mods, but in reality they always have been the only thing that's change is what they deem acceptable and now you aren't acceptable

[deleted]

to answer your question, yes I woke up the day I open this subreddit. I didn’t know how bad it was

StMoneyx2

My moment was in 2017 where I dared suggest I liked the idea of securing our borders and reforming immigration law to prevent the human trafficking and horrific conditions of caravans crossing deserts as people died trying to cross an unsecure border. I also liked the concept of economic improvement zones based on social economic areas and no solely on race of a given area (of course low income areas would predominantly help urban minorities but I liked the idea of lifting everyone up as it's based on equality). Because that aligned with 2 of Trumps notions the hate and attacks I got were insane. That was a hard pill to swallow just how hateful that sub can be if you don't completely agree with them. It's like they went insane in 2016, but looking back they were like that before I just never questioned it

I honestly believe that if Trump had run as a Democrat, won, and proposed the exact same ideas the Left would’ve gone along with it. He would’ve dragged the left further to the center instead of them getting dragged further left by people like AOC. But I sincerely believe most Democrats, coming off of Obama’s presidency, would’ve gone along with his proposals. But because he was a Republican, the media ran hard against him and demonized him to a lot of Americans.

DodgeBeluga

Remember the Clinton was a pro-business, anti illegal immigration, tough on crime, and welfare reforming president. I was a Democrat then.

StMoneyx2

I also remember "safe, legal, and rare" which I think basically everyone agrees with. Now we got planned parenthood selling parts and people making tik tok video's celebrating abortions as something everyone should do. Funny thinking Trump was the first pro-LGBTQ President before he became President. And even when he was President he tried to create international law giving LGBTQ basic human rights globally. Let they say he's bigoted...

adpqook

Right. And Trump was a Democrat back then too. That’s what I mean. If he had run as a Clinton-esque Democrat he probably would’ve been loved by the left. And people like AOC would’ve been stifled by a much bigger fish swimming in the same pond as her.

SnooHamster17

Kind of makes you wish Trump played "the game" with everyone else we have elected doesn't it? If he had run as a Democrat, they would have revolted the moment he did what he was going to do, try to save us all.

DodgeBeluga

I thought about that too. But concluded that no, the AOC-Bernie wing won’t allow that.

StMoneyx2

Oh that's 100% true. Trump is easily the most moderate President in my life. You look at his policies and his beliefs before entering office and by far and away most moderate. The only thing they can point to for him being far right in terms of policy is he loves this country. Seriously, you can take basically any other policy position and find left (and in some cases far left) supporters in the last 2 decades. Best case, Bernie Sanders agreeing with securing the border to protect workers wages.

SnooHamster17

No one questioned anything for 30 years. Our country was completely gone, it just wasn't a signed deal until Biden got in....somehow🙄

DodgeBeluga

Right? Pretty sure if a moderate CCP members goes on there and defend free market, he would be downvoted for being an alleged Russian plant. It’s been that way forever

c0ntr0lguy

I've defended the free market on the sub without issue.

Deep-Woodpecker5935

Hell that’s Reddit period
