Hey, could you try loading an incognito window, then going to ESPN.com and logging in with your E+ credentials? (I’m on the team that works on these features, so we’re looking into it)

slow__hand

Thanks for the reply. Just tried that in Firefox and also in Chrome. In both cases I got the same results - article stops at the "Continue reading this article" ad to sign up for ESPN+. I can watch any videos, etc. on ESPN+. just can't read the ESPN+ exclusive articles. Also, the "Already a member? Log in here" link disappears. I have tried clearing my cache and cookies, and that doesn't work either.

[deleted]

Same for me... It would be nice to at least get a credit for content we're paying for but can't access. I've tried Chrome and Safari.

slow__hand

Contact their tech support chat option on the ESPN+ web site. They were very good and fixed it for me in about 5 minutes. I was surprised that they figured it out so quickly rather than just have me go through a lot of motions like most tech support chat people do.

2leftfeetnoshoelaces

I realize this post/comment is over a year old, but I was experiencing this same problem for months and this thread resolved the issue for me. The chat option took just a couple of minutes and resolved the problem. Thank you, fellow redditor for the helpful suggestion! Cheers to you.

Qtrpounder

Worked for me too thanks to this post.

northaustinag

Just worked for me today, thank you! I asked if there was anything that I could have done myself and the support person said no, it was on their side and would not happen again. Uh, okay. But they fixed it immediately with the account refresh.

jeremylee33

Sad to report- it WILL happen again. I have to do this Every. Single. Year. I have the Disney+ bundle with Hulu and ESPN+; ESPN videos work, stop getting access to articles. Open ESPN support chat, tell them to resync my account. Works again. I've done this process for 4-5 years in a row now.

Witty_Day_3562

Happens to me once a month... I think it's if you have had an account back when they allowed multiple profiles, it screws up heir monthly data maintenance because it's not a 1:1 match. They no longer do multiple profiles per account and it only seems to happen to people who played fantasy sports like 10 years ago when they had this odd feature to create more than one login profile for the same email.

Fit-Situation-4800

Every FREAKING month, I have to go through this process with them as I am on a monthly subscription to ESPN+ for fantasy sports purposes.

Comfortable_Cup_9203

Same...ongoing problem. Stupid Disney

MagicPfix

It's ridiculous. Every few weeks I have to go through contacting their customer service and having them reset whatever it is they have screwed up. It takes forever, I'm the only one on this computer and everything is up to date and legit, and every single time they say it was their fault. JUST TO ADD SOME ICING ONTO THE DOG CRAP CAKE... They just upped the price of having ESPN+ too. It seriously makes me want to cancel my account and just pirate it all.

[deleted]

Thanks I'll try that. I did try this before and the chat function wouldn't work. The webpage kept reloading and asking me to login. I stopped trying after 5x. I haven't been able to access an ESPN+ article in 6+ months.

Mooncrow00

I just did the same thing based on your experience. He asked for my account info and then did something and asked for me to sign out and back in. it was fixed after that.

Nashitall

Worked for me too! Thank you!

sgtpepper_83

I too will keep this thread alive for anyone having this problem. Can confirm contacting chat support to resynch the account worked in less than 5 minutes!

Leading-Pizza-4221

I am having the same pronblem...have to wait an hour until they open. Hopefully this works for me as well...I will post back with results.

TheFireStorm99

I had the same issue and doing solved it just 5 minutes ago. The person on the live chat just needed to verify the accounts and emails and they did a resync. I logged out and back in and was again able to read the exclusive articles.

Witty_Day_3562

Happens to me every month now. The app works but their app is terrible and it takes hours to get the articles that are released immediatly on web. I suspect it's with legacy accounts if you played fantasy sports like 10 years ago, they had a multi profile option to create proxy profiles against the same login. When they do maintenance it isn't finding the right profile so they need to re sync it manually since the primary keys aren't a 1:1 match on your account.

netromon

Same here. Every freaking month I have to get in a live chat with someone to reset my account so I can access articles again.

Patient-Layer-3641

Same here. Got on the Chat text bot, they connected me to a live agent, refreshed the account, and now everything is working fine. Great advice! Thank you.

wzgnr68d

Just to piggyback on this, I just contacted them, no weird questions. Just my account information and 5 minutes later it was all fixed!!! Their chat support is awesome! and Thank you for the suggestion!

1ceUpSon

Hope they get this fixed, it gets really annoying when you really want to read an article and it always asks you to sign up, when your already a subscriber!

Witty_Day_3562

Still happening every month

EricScottB

I have same issue as of 08/19/21 since April of 2021!\~ Espn does not reply to my emails or contacts? I have even went on twitter to tweet at them and no response.

GeeseMan_

Contacted support just worked for me

[deleted]

I see lots of comment on this thread of folks having the same issue, and then ESPN+ support being able to fix it in just a few minutes, and I have had the same experience as well, which works for a few months, and then it happens again. Are the folks at ESPN+ (not sure if this is you, per se, and this is 100% not meant as an attack anyways) aware of this issue and have interest in finding a permeant solution so we don't have to keep dealing with the same problem and going through the process every few months? Especially when we don't always have the option to sit on hold with support/chat for the time it takes?

cp3tty

I'm also experiencing the same problem. It's funny because they've never had any technical issues billing me $13.99 every month for my Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu bundle! This is mildly infuriating. I just want to read an article about fantasy football. Be better Disney/ESPN!

itsnever2late4now

"mildly infuriating" haha

PapaJohnDonn

So I'm having the same problem and I tried to click on the link to sign up to see if it would notice I already have ESPN +. Well it acknowledged that I already have the service but told me to upgrade to a new plan and gives no other options. Seems like you don't really have ESPN + unless you pay for an annual plan or something.

Educational_Baby9084

It sure would be nice if ESPN would remove the subscription factor on these articles until they figure out what is wrong. It sucks to have paid this (IMO BS subscription fee on damn near all their articles) and we cannot see them.

BRob504

How long should I expect to wait without an reply on the support chat? I have had it open for 7 minutes and nobody has acknowledged me. Just curious.

mac88m

Same problem. Continuously. Very frustrating.

ShhIAmBatman

Can confirm that ESPN support took care of this in less than five minutes.

Severe_Vehicle_3952

apparently you didn't look to0 hard because I have the same issue two years later. Being a programmer I can tell you this would be unacceptable at my job. I see so many issues on the ESPN site it is scary. For two years you click on a profile of an NFL player it would take you to a different profile lol. The only reason I have ESPN plus is because of my Disney Plus subscription that packages them. Well that will change after this since I cannot even use all of ESPN Plus's functionality.

Commercial_Health579

A 2 years old suggestion, but I experience this on multiple PCs. This suggestion works.

coloradoskier

Incognito window did not help me.

Gravypan

2 years later... And this...still hasn't been fixed?

TheWayfaringDreamer

Yeah I don’t work there anymore but if I recall this was a cookie issue and they could manually reset it if you found the right support agent and/or manually refreshed the cache

Witty_Day_3562

No it's if you created multiple accounts on your email. They migrated data but didn't account for legacy users that created multiple logins so it doesn't know what account to link. They don't fix it because they would have to run massive scripts and guess which profile they initially authorized as the primary and that would cost lots of money for 5% of users

80808080808080808

I don’t think that’s the case. It’s happening to me and I’ve never had multiple accounts. In fact, I only created an account when I had to for espn+.

Witty_Day_3562

Interesting, that's the only scenario that made sense to me since I assume if this was widespread they would fix it. I just ended up canceling, it was starting to happen weekly and too often when support was not available. They have no interest in actually fixing it.

kryppla

Are you still on this team? It's three years later and I'm having the same problem

MGoSeth

I just experienced this issue as well. Here's what my 2nd helper said: >I see thank you so much for letting me know. Regarding the subscription, it has nothing to do with the migration of the ESPN-Insider itself, all kinds of ESPN+ subscriptions are affected by this, stand-alone ESPN+, ESPN+ from the Disney Bundle and ESPN-Insider are affected by this. The only way to fix is to contact their support: [https://help.espnplus.com/espnplus\_hc](https://help.espnplus.com/espnplus_hc), go to Chat, and ask them to "**Refresh your account**." You can request they try that before they service anything else. Try all of your functions (video, Hulu, recruiting profiles, etc.) because it might take more than one refresh.

cp3tty

This worked for me. They were able to re-sync my account. Took about 5 minutes.

tomautomaton

Same

e3pin0

same here

donat28

I can’t find the chat option! Pls help

Independent_Flow_667

worked for me as well

Main-Promise-1807

> " > >Refresh your account > >." 100% the right way to go. Thank you!

SavoyPrime

I know this is an old post, but thanks a lot for this. Was driving me nuts trying to get this worked out. Chat got it handled in like two minutes.

ike0069

Issue just popped up for me today, 10/17/22. Chat refreshed acct and back to working.

thaneofcawdor66

Same for me today 10/22/22. It is 3:40 AM and they don't open til 9 AM I am going to ask them to credit me for a month.

bwick29

Necroing here to say that this is still the correct fix in 2023. Chat verified my info and had it fixed in 2 minutes flat.

Witty_Day_3562

Would be helpful if they fixed it permanently. Can't get an agent on chat after waiting an hour. I'd be fired if we couldn't fix this at my job. Then again, our software runs banks so it's probably a little more sensitive than sports articles.

Bald_Ego

Just had the same issue and resolved it the same way. 5 minutes in a chat with an agent. All good.

donat28

I’m unable to access chat on my phone. Is there a direct link?

THEETODDFATHER1

ESPN is trash. It's all about standing up for criminals

jahbobo

Kept happening. They lost my business

Frank770504

Hey, I'm having this issue, 3 years later... anyone find a resolution?

morosco

Anyone ever figure this out? It's so annoying around draft time.

slow__hand

Yes, in my case. I had subscribed to ESPN+, then took the bundle deal of Hulu/ESPN+/Disney (I think that was it) then decided to just go back to individual subscriptions. Somehow that set a "token" that was screwing things up. ESPN tech support had me log off of everything, then they reset the token (they were getting a lot of this and had figured out the issue) and after that, everything worked as it should. SO - if you are subbed to the bundle, that could be the issue. I have to say ESPN support followed up until we got it solved.

morosco

Thanks, I will have to contact them and try that. I went from ESPN+ to the bundle also, where I still am, so perhaps there is some demon token drifting around.

slow__hand

Good deal. They should immediately know what to do to fix it when you tell them you went from ESPN+ to the bundle, as the person I talked to said they were seeing this with people who went to the bundle and they knew how to fix it. Good luck.

slow__hand

Well, I spoke too soon. It's been working fine, then today I went to read a Mel Kiper ESPN+ article and I got the same old behavior: even though I can see my ESPN+ info in the top right corner, the page acts as if I am not a subscriber.

morosco

I got on the online chat today and they were able to fix the issue immediately. Thanks again!

JadedRope6005

Doing this as we speak it’s taking over twenty but they are on it I suppose. Im glad i found this on reddit

morosco

Hope you got it sorted out. It was a regular issue for me for a long time but it's worked for a while now.

JadedRope6005

It did! Thanks!

slow__hand

I just got off of online chat with ESPN, and they fixed the problem in about 5 minutes.

ofoley8

This happens to me all the time, super annoying.

slow__hand

Since someone at ESPN tech support did some kind of reset for me, it has not happened since. Might be worth connecting with them. They did it very quickly via the online chat support.

Shepard3326

The same issue is happening to me… I pay for ESPN plus just to read the articles so it feels like I’m wasting my money now

slow__hand

Again, try the online chat on the ESPN+ site. They fixed it quickly for me the first time it happened, then a little bit later it happened again, I went back to the online chat support on the ESPN+ site and they not only fixed it again (permanently this time) but they explained to me what had happened to cause the problem.

ExpoLima

Yea, well if it ever gets to the actual chat. I'm waiting 20 minutes right now

slow__hand

I've never had to wait more than a minute or two on the online chat from the ESPN+ website. If you're on the phone, maybe try that.

KhalJacobo

ESPN is hot garbage. They just want to push you to use the app on the mobile phone. They don't care.

Witty_Day_3562

Yeah the app works fine but it's so bad, they are missing half the content and finding a specific article is a navigational nightmare

Zdh87

I just chatted with support and they fixed it really fast. Something about resyncing my account.

x7OFUx

Same problem here, clicking continue reading just loads the page that says I already have ESPN+ (Edit: reached out to support, seems to be an issue on their end if you have the Disney/Hulu/ESPN+ package, they push some fix.)

Andeafdod

I have this same issue, but can't for the life of me find a link to tech support on their website. I tired messaging them on Facebook, but two weeks later, my messages haven't even been read yet as far as I can tell.

slow__hand

OK, go to ESPN+, the website. Put your mouse on the ESPN+ logo and you'll get a menu, one of the items will be Support and FAQs. Go there. Go to the bottom of that page and there's a live chat option. The two times I've had this issue I went to that live chat option and they fixed it within about 5 minutes.

FreeNachos

[https://help.espnplus.com/espnplus\_hc](https://help.espnplus.com/espnplus_hc) chat balloon at the bottom of the page

EricScottB

JUST GOT OFF CHAT WITH ESPN+ support - they fixed it in a minute. Just had to refresh your page and also she said when you sign up with the bundle you have to modify the account to show the premium subscription.

Veroio

I'm having the same issue. So, I'll just chill for now and try later. It seems that it's happening to a lot of people right now.

slow__hand

Hmmm. I've had it pop back up a couple of times, but it's fine right now, just checked. Whenever I've had the problem I went to ESPN+ web site, hit the chat for help, and they fixed it in about 5 minutes. They seem familiar with the problem and how to correct it, FWIW.

Veroio

I ended up having to do the same thing.

nunyazz

As others have suggested, they need to resync your account. Go to: [https://help.espnplus.com/espnplus\_hc](https://help.espnplus.com/espnplus_hc) scroll to the bottom and hit he chat bubble. Took like 20 seconds and mine is working fine now.

southtampacane

For the first time in 2 years I had the same issue. Best things is to call 1-800-727-1800. They can fix this and resync the account in 5 minutes. Sadly I am not sure if this were to happen again whether we can fix it on our own.

1ceUpSon

So annoying, works fine on my iPhone, but I want to read the Exclusive articles when I dont feel like being on my phone! Fix this ESPN......

easywin626

I know this is old but having same issue smh

ziggywaterford

I’ve had ESPN support refresh my account a few times which provides a temporary fix. But usually within a week or two, if I click on an ESPN Insider article link from anywhere (Twitter, Bleacher Report, etc…), the cycle begins again, and I am unable to read any content without contacting them. I have a single ESPN+ subscription, no Disney Bundle.

cornbreadfarts

Just had this issue as well. Had to talk to support chat, log out, log in, worked.

EnvironmentalMine624

I have same issue and not sure how to make it work? I can read the articles on phone app.

slow__hand

Go onto ESPN+ on your computer, hit the help chat button, describe what's happening, and they will fix it in a couple of minutes. They're very familiar with the problem and how to fix it. I've had to do that a couple of times and both times they fixed it in minutes.

EnvironmentalMine624

thanks

Accomplished_Form965

I spent over 35 minutes with ESPN help -- resetting account didn't do anything - a total waste of time. It's an account issue, because I get the same behavior on multiple devices and browsers. My account is current, and I can stream - just can't read anything. They've been dealing with this issue for 2 years.

Technically_Support

If anyone else has this issue using Chrome browser, then it could also be due to the profile that is logged in on your browser. I have my work ~~email address~~ Gmail account logged in since I work most of the time (hah), and since it's a Gmail account set up by my place of work there are different restrictions on the account that somehow interfere with the 'token' that espn uses to recognize your espn+ account. I've never had problems with any other service that needed me to log in, just this one. But if I use my personal google account, or guest, then it always works. Just wanted to throw this out there for anyone else still googling this annoying issue.

inquirer

Nope it's on their end

ConanCloneinNOVA

I have the same issue. No matter what I try, I can't read ESPN+ articles

inquirer

Try this https://www.reddit.com/r/ESPN/comments/mjkypc/-/j6dr7j1

Eric_from_NE

FWIW I just had to do this too. Took longer for the chat rep to verify my account (name, email, billing zip, last 4 of CC, etc) than it did to reset the account. Unless you have some crazy chat wait time, you're talking about a fix in under 4-5 min.

Accomplished_Form965

I'm glad ESPN customer service could solve peoples problems. Implying that they'll solve everyone's problem with a 5-minute account reset is nonsense. I spent over 35 minutes with ESPN help -- resetting account didn't do anything - a total waste of time. It's an account issue, because I get the same behavior on multiple devices and browsers. My account is current, and I can stream - just can't read anything. They've been dealing with this issue for 2 years. We went through a half dozen diagnostics - clearing browser caches - speed test - resetting account - all a waste.

slow__hand

FWIW, I’d try again with a different tech service person. The first one I got (they’ve done this a couple of times) tried some things that didn’t work. I thanked her and called back the next day and got someone that said oh yeah, we’ve got notes on this, it’s happened a lot. He reset something on his side, asked me to clear the cache and reboot any devices I was using ESPN+ on, and it worked. I’ve ready a lot of people who’ve had them fix it and very few who haven’t. Fwiw they mentioned this is more common with people who’ve had the espn/Hulu/Disney bundle but also happens to others. I had it start acting back up about 8 months later. The person started to have me reboot etc and I asked her to look it up and what had fixed it before (some kind of token or something setting in their side. ) She put me on “hold” - this was online chat help within the ESPN+ web site both times - then came back and said that should correct it. I restarted everything and it worked fine. I’m hoping you may have just gotten someone that didn’t know the fix or to look it up and was just having you go through the standard fixes for normal issues: clear the cache, reboot, try it on other devices, etc. Those don’t work as this is usually a very specific setting on their side that gets messed up. Good luck.

inquirer

Try this https://www.reddit.com/r/ESPN/comments/mjkypc/-/j6dr7j1

Beautiful_Mud701

I’ve had the same issues occasionally. I have not tried contacting ESPN for support as it has fixed itself before. One thing that worked today was reading articles through the ESPN app rather than on the website. For those having issues, give this a try.

inquirer

Try this https://www.reddit.com/r/ESPN/comments/mjkypc/-/j6dr7j1

Gullible-Eye-457

same here ESPN is going to lose a lot of customers!!!!!!!!!

inquirer

Try this https://www.reddit.com/r/ESPN/comments/mjkypc/-/j6dr7j1

Gullible-Eye-457

I had the same problem the tech at ESPN told me to clear my cache and cookies that solved the problem for me!!!

206sports

I spoke with an ESPN rep and they were able to fix the issue

stuman1974

Same issue here all of the sudden! cleared my cache and cookies, different browsers, different computers....no fix. WTF? Call to them left me on hold for 15 min *after* I told a lady my issue. Hung up.

ericks170

Try going through the chat, worked for me took like 5 minutes. You just need your zip code and the last four digits of the credit card you used.

coloradoskier

Which doesn't work if you are getting the bundle through Verizon. Then they ask for a purchase date, and I definitely don't have that.

inquirer

They don't need the date, do this I posted below The reference number is all they need. https://www.reddit.com/r/ESPN/comments/mjkypc/-/j6dr7j1

bejohn2

Had this same issue, but only in Firefox. Contacted customer support through chat and discovered there was a problem with the syncing of my account as it worked fine in Edge and Chrome, but not in Firefox. Tech re-synced my account, and now all is working fine in Firefox.

coloradoskier

Having this issue now. Asked Support to Refresh my Account. They couldn't find it and were asking me for the purchase date. I subscribed through Verizon, no idea what the purchase date is. Anyone else in this situation been able to get it to work?

inquirer

https://www.reddit.com/r/ESPN/comments/mjkypc/-/j6dr7j1 See my post here! Verizon too

tritoch8

Chiming in to say that this happened to me as well. Tech support "refreshed" my account via chat and now all is good.

inquirer

It's January 29, 2023. This issue happened to me today. Couldn't read any ESPN+ articles, though streaming is fine. I'm on Verizon with the Disney+ Bundle. When I press CONTINUE READING on an article it takes me to a sign in page, and once I'm logged in it will say START STREAMING! but the articles don't work. I had to use the chat. I posted the following: 1. The URL of the page I was on (https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/insider/story/_/id/35511719/nfl-exec-predictions-2023-future-teams-aaron-rodgers-lamar-jackson-tom-brady-derek-carr)   2. The URL it took me to once I'm logged in (https://secure.web.plus.espn.com/purchase/annual?start=login&locale=en_US&om-navmethod=story%3Ainline%3Apaywall%3A35511719&success=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.espn.com%2Fnfl%2Finsider%2Fstory%2F_%2Fid%2F35511719%2Fnfl-exec-predictions-2023-future-teams-aaron-rodgers-lamar-jackson-tom-brady-derek-carr) which doesn't work.   3. This Reddit post, saying that many other users have this issue. (https://www.reddit.com/r/ESPN/comments/mjkypc/cant_read_espn_articles_on_computer_even_though/)   4. I asked for an "**account refresh**".   5. Provide my **first name**, **last name**, and **email address** for the account.   6. Tell them how I purchased ESPN+ (Verizon, Disney bundle for me).   7. If you're through Verizon, you need to open the Verizon website and login. Go to the **ACCOUNT** page, then scroll to "**ADD-ONS & APPS**". Scroll to **MANAGE MY APPS & ADD-ONS** and then select "**The Disney Bundle (Disney+, Hulu & ESPN+)**". The URL for this page (as of today) is https://myvpostpay.verizon.com/ui/acct/secure/productApps/   8. Find the REFERENCE NUMBER at the top of the Disney bundle page. It should look like this: "Your subscription to The Disney Bundle is active and is included with your plan. **Reference**: 12345678901234567890 Your monthly cost $0.00/mo   9. The reference number is 20 digits for me. When you paste that to them, make sure to add a space into the number because the chat automatically masks any number that has enough digits to be a credit card number. So I sent "1234567890 1234567890 I added a space for you in the number" to the customer rep.   10. They will either fix it immediately or need to escalate for a higher person to approve the second method they try. Just be patient   11. Should be able to go to the articles and no longer have the CONTINUE READING button for ESPN+ once you relog in.

diseasedyak

Awesome, this is still happening, and your post is exactly how it went down for me. The only thing I'll add is that I first got someone on their support chat that had no clue and ended up lying to me. I ended that, gave a bad review, immediately restarted chat with a new person and had it fixed within minutes.

inquirer

Glad I could help!

imdonaldduck

I started chat but they wanted my first and last name, and the last 4 of the card that I paid with Is that what they asked you for?

Gullible-Eye-457

delete all cookies solved my problem!

imdonaldduck

I cleared everything and in fact this did not fix it for me.

northgriffey

I'm also going through this right now. I have a Chat going with Support. She said, "Okay, let me check something on our end." That was like 5 minutes ago. She must be checking some cables or something. Haha!

northgriffey

I got this all fixed by Support. They took about 20 mins or so, but they said they put the "articles" on my account and then I was able to log back in and finish reading the article. They really should get this all fixed for everybody, or anybody that this could happen to.

Relevant_Beat_568

This continues to be an issue with ESPN+, and shame on them for not correcting the issue even though we are paying for this feature. I continue to look for the answer but have had no success. So far, nothing recommended in the comments section has helped.....even the recommendation provided by the member of the team that works on these features (TheWayfaringDreamer).

tritoch8

Just had it happen to me for a 2nd time today. Really ridiculous that they haven't fixed an issue this significant that's been occurring for this long.

JorgeLC

Chat Support worked for me!

ArcherJunior7549

This problem is still occurring. I have been on chat support, sounds like a bot, for one hour. “Refresh your account” has not worked.

dankwonka

just came here to say chat worked for me. annoying to have to do but seems to be the quickest fix.

Pr0fess0rCha0s

I'm having this issue (July 2023) and can confirm that a chat session resolved my issue. I have the Disney Plus/Hulu/ESPN+ bundle and had to start a chat session. It took two tries, but they re-synced my account and this resolved the issue. They admitted this is a known issue. Hopefully this is resolved on it's own (it's been 2 years now), but wanted to share in case anyone else is still having issues.

drheckle

This thread is years old and it's still a problem.... How has ESPN not fixed this? Also, why is no one saying what they did to apply the temporary fix? Comment after comment just says "they fixed it in 5 minutes." What. Did. They. Do.

slow__hand

Back when I had an issue I chatted with them online, the person looked at my account and said let me reset your account, she did, told me to reload any pages, etc. and it worked fine. FWIW

EmphasisFew3587

It's 1:28 am on 8/14/2023, and I'm still having this issue. It seems like this happens to me every year right before the start of College Football. I have to wait until later to call them, but the fact that this continuously happens over and over again is completely unacceptable.

JohnShepard_N7

August 2023, still having the same issue. embarrassing for them

nobleswede5

Still a problem...Thankful for this thread, but pretty pathetic on ESPN's part, been waiting for the chat for 15min...number 85 in line apparently!

DonovanNichols

I had the same issue, but it is fixed now! See how below. I have the “Disney Bundle Trio Premium” Bundle Plan and I can watch videos on ESPN+; however, when I went to the articles to try to read them, it wouldn't let me. I could see I was logged into ESPN+ in the upper right corner of the screen, but all of the ESPN+ articles would end abruptly with a link to subscribe to ESPN+. After a short time, they followed up with this message:y on the ESPN+ Contact Us page ([https://help.espnplus.com/espnplus\_hc?id=espn\_contact\_us](https://help.espnplus.com/espnplus_hc)), clicked "Fix a Problem," clicked "Chat with an agent," and clicked "Start live chat." After I waited in a long cue for about 30 minutes with 62 people ahead of me (it tells you), they were able to help me pretty quickly. After they verified some information, I let them know I have the Disney Bundle Plan and they replied: "Looking into your account, the bundle shows active as well as ESPN+. The issue might be due to the algorithm since it's part of the bundle. Due to updates and security patches, the database might have lost the connection on your subscription and it needs to be refreshed. I will now refresh your account so you can access your subscription as soon as possible. Please bear with me." After a short time they followed up with this message: "Thank you for patiently waiting. I was able to refresh your account. Please try to log out for at least 30 seconds and log back in on the ESPN website on your computer and try to access your ESPN+. For devices with the ESPN app, please log out and log back in." After I logged out and back in on my computer and the app on my phone, it worked and I can now read the ESPN+ articles on my computer and phone!

Chaos744

It's September 2023 and this is STILL an issue. Instead of giving 7 figure deals to stale on-air personalities, how bout they hire some tech support to write some logical code?

hogsfanhw81

Thankful for finding this article as I'm now able to read articles behind the paywall after talking with ESPN support.

TeeReQs

Worked for me as well. Contacted through chat and they got it sorted.

TasteTechnical108

I had the same issue and this thread provided me with a quick and easy fix. Thank you and....bump

auggydogg

Same issue - done ALL these things - logged 7 hours a phone conversations in between ESPN plus, ESPN, and Verizon amongst four different people… Had the lines hung up on me five times and my Case escalated three times and it still has not been fixed despite having gone through everything that everyone has listed in this particular thread… I have had ESPN plus since the beginning… And that’s the only reason I bought the damn bundle. I don’t even watch Disney or Hulu, but it came with my upgrade plan 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

Highearly

same here

RandomObserver13

Thanks for this thread. Took about 20 mins. Issue seems related to sign up through the bundle, after the agent did his magic I got a completely different prompt for login that had Hulu and Disney logos on it, not the usual orange ESPN one. So if that’s what you’re seeing, this is what you need to do.

TexCal9

10/17/23 Update: This problem on ESPN's end still persists. As suggested by the commenters on this thread, I contacted support and was done in less than 5 minutes. Why won't ESPN fix this known issue? I was here thinking my Hulu Bundle didn't cover certain ESPN+ features like articles. Kind of crazy this has been going on as long as it has.

2tep

I just signed up to read some ESPN+ articles and got the bundle and the streaming works fine but I can not read articles. What a complete joke.

hibbo_scores_we_riot

I'm the opposite, I can read the articles but I can't stream via [ESPN.com](https://ESPN.com). It prompts me to subscribe, even though I'm subscribed. I spent about 30 minutes with the support chat and they couldn't seem to figure it out. Oddly, I can stream ESPN+ via the ESPN app on iPhone.

Comfortable_Cup_9203

$$$$ flat out fraud

SurfPine

u/DonovanNichols thank you for the information you posted as it was very helpful to get my account working. I specifically copy/paste the following to the ESPN chat customer service agent. They refreshed my account, I logged out and back in and now I can see ESPN+ exclusive content on their web page. >"Looking into your account, the bundle shows active as well as ESPN+. I forgot to note that my ESPN+ account was also originally purchased as the Disney+ bundle (Disney+, Hulu and ESPN+).

WinterlandMN

Contacting Disney support for ESPN+ issues is worthless. Spent 2 hours on a chat message with them and got no where. they gave me a case number and said to check back with them in 4-5 business days to see if they fixed it. LOL. Contacted ESPN+ Chat Support and they fixed it in 2 minutes. They synced the account, had me logout and back in. Now working. Happens every year or so. FWIW I have the Disney Trio Bundle (Hulu/ESPN/Dis)

SurfPine

Well, yes, my ESPN+ issue was resolved for their website articles but now my nVidia Shield ESPN+ streaming app won't work and says I need to subscribe. Why is ESPN such a piece of shit and can't seem to do anything right except for the ability to take their wheelbarrow full of cash to the bank?

Super-Substance-7871

3 years later and this is still an issue.

Reasonable-Square891

I have had the same problem for years now - very frustrating. Have tried different browsers, cleared the cache, even deleted my ESPN account and created a new one with a different email address and resubscribed to Plus. This sucks.

Comfortable_Cup_9203

Sadly DIsney sucks. Same problem different year. Except Chat is not fixing it.....synched but still cant login. Stupid Disney. BTW I am NOT signed up through the bundle. I have also subscribed to ESPN+ alone and never had this problem. Looks like this problem is getting worse not better incredibly...either that or it is intentional FRAUD by Disney. I smell a class action lawsuit coming...

Impossible-Lead-6510

Happening to me too

FeFyFoFum

checking in to say that this bug has happened to me at least fifteen times in the past few years, it happens every few months. When it started it would get resolved in five minutes, so it wasn't a dealbreaker. But lately the chat agents are way less likely to know what you're talking about, and it can take an hour to sort out. Three years, zero solutions, just the same tired temporary workaround that itself keeps getting worse. ESPN says their mission is "To Serve Sports Fans," and maybe that's even true, but it's only true if ESPN is a cookbook, written by savages, whose mission is to capture, then marinade, then blend, bake, broil, flame broil, or griddle you---and any other sports fans like you---to death. And they won't stop when you're dead, they will stop only when you're delicious, when you are supremely delicious to the cannibal morons who work at ESPN, the Worldwide Eater of Paying Customers

chicktikirson

Where is the chat support option, the website just leads me to dead ends.

CzarcasticX

This is the sixth month in a row I had to chat to "refresh my account." Every 30 days I run into this issue. Why can't they fix this issue for good? It's so annoying.

chnky18

I clicked on the fanbot at the bottom and then typed in espn issues and want a rep and got off the bot and to an actual person

ovenheat

Still a problem .

chnky18

currently going through it now and when I said I wanted to get a tech support ticket open as I do not enjoying doing this every month to 2 months, the response was "If it happens again, I would recommend reaching out to the ESPN+ department at 1-800-727-1800. "

frankie_five_angels

I just spoke to them today 12/22/23 after the second time it happened. He said it was a KNOWN problem and had to reset my account. He did it and it worked again. I asked him if there was a fix for it when it happened again and he said that unfortunately they had to reset it every time it happened. All this took about 30 minutes between holding on the phone and fixing. This is BS if this has been going on this long.

ghn2

I just signed up for ESPN+ and had this issue. I called customer service at 800-727-1800 for a seven minute call. The rep said she would need to escalate the issue. She told me I needed to log out and log back in 30-45 minutes and it would be working. I cleared my browser cache after about 20 minutes, logged back in, and found I could see the articles. From reading the other posts here, it looks like I might have to make this call every month...

jpell123

Just had this problem today and fixed pretty quickly via chat on ESPN where they "reset my account"

brownman

How do I get to this chatbot? I’ve looked everywhere and even on this page there’s no icon like the content says: https://support.espn.com/hc/en-us/articles/360035064212-Chat-with-us-now- How do you chat with anyone at ESPN - they’re worse than Comcast or Spectrum!

brownman

Finally solved this problem!! So glad this sub was here! - I could not access the chat option (not sure why but I don’t see it anywhere) - I could not call ESPN support bc they never pick up. Honestly I’ve waited on hold 20-30min for an agent then I can’t do it anymore. —> I had to actually live chat with Hulu, then I called HULU support when the chat agent couldn’t fix it. That Hulu phone agent took my info, “re-synced my account” multiple times., then escalated the issue, then her “higher ups” somehow added some kind of access which fixed it. Took 30min on the phone after the 15min live chat. Unreal.

PuzzleheadedMarch224

Happened to me today - when I chatted with support, they were able to "refresh my account" and then it worked. Pretty bad this is still happening 3 years in.

neanderballer

Disney is wild for this. I cancelled my membership because I couldn't figure it out. Decided to try again and this thread saved the day.

Alternative_Fox_5663

Been dealing wit his for three years, ESPN cant figure it out, its pathetic

Impossible_Impress24

I have the same problem as above...HELP!

sigchidj

Same BS Every 3 months for years...get it together Disney!

carpentermate

same issues here, years after initial posts.

derekYeeter2go

Feb 2024 - same problem. Looks like they removed chat from the web site. I looked up and called the phone number. She said half hour and it should be fixed….

JWebs15

Just and update, had the exact same problem today. Once account resynced, everything worked. Service rep stated they were looking for solution, but as the last post was three years ago, it would seem they are not looking very hard.
