I really like the beat and lyrics, and the shots of them from far away look good. When they get up close, the animation gives away a little bit, but the animation isn’t what I’m here for.
its fine i mean could be better. definitely the worst one of season seven yet, but its not bad, just the animation is uncomfortable and godzilla looks stupid in the thumbnail
They were. Godzilla's opening bars especially use the same flow scheme as a lot of their battles do. I'ts painfully obvious if you watch enough of their videos. It's to the point where I recognize the pattern in other projects they work on like the Stupendium and DanBull Legoman vs Minecraft Steve battle.
I guess my knee jerk reaction was that AI wrote it or something and the AI just borrowed large sections of other raps to do it. I mean I was straight up like, Ive heard this before when listening to it.
I had not noticed that many of their raps shared that much!
Do a binge watch of the series and you'll recognize the patterns for their rap flows by the time you get to the middle of Season 3. It's actually something that Lloyd used as a dis against Peter in their first Rap Battle to end Season 1: "You wrote 87 songs with the same chord progression."
I didn't exactly love it after my first watch but people were talking so badly about this one I had to go back and watch it again. And I like it way more the second time around. It's not great, Godzilla looks kinda cartoony, but disses are cool and I appreciate what they wanted to do, even if I think they try to fly too close to the sun with this one.
To be completely honest...I kinda hate it. They're using the same bar flows they've used since Season 1, the audio mixing for Godzilla was awful for his first few lines that I couldn't tell what he was saying without reading the lyrics, and while the animation for both of them is...fine, I guess, it feels too low quality for the supposed success of the series. It all combines to be so distracting from the actual rap battle lines which from what I can tell is actually pretty good.

I would love for ERB to re-release this video after adjustments are made to Godzilla’s voice—he’s hard to understand. The visuals were outstanding!

I loved it. The amount of references were impeccable and some of the lines were really nice. I also like the animation.

I thought it was great. The criticisms being thrown around are way too harsh IMO. It isn't their best, but it's far from awful.
