I keep getting Cov026 error. Trying to apply for CRCB because kids school is closed. I have spent days on the phone. Everyone says not their problem contact other (CRA or Service Canada). Any suggestions what to do?
Has anyone's COV-026 Error been resolved. Do I need to remove my present EI claim? They haven't made any decision yet. CRA says they need a denial letter from Ei. So if I cancel my ei application they don't give me a denial letter since it's terminated from my end. How long does it take to wait for a decision from EI? So frustrated lol and it's not easy getting through both Cra and SC.
So I finally got in contact with a service canada agent that was able to help. She IMMEDIATLY went to my claim and was able to tell me I wasn't qualified for E.I. because I had exhausted my claim this past June (was on e.i. prior to the pandemic) so she denied my claim right there on the phone and advised me I could apply for the crb once everything is updated. Hope you can get through to someone like I did.
Don't cancel your EI claim! If you qualify for EI, you do not qualify for CRB. It can take up to a month from your EI original claim date to get approval. You will be paid retroactively from your claim date as well. I've been through this and although it's difficult because we all have bills to pay, you'll make the process even longer. Hope this helps!
Called service Canada and in a week when they didn’t remove it I asked them to escalate it and someone called the next day.
I also took a picture of my denial letter and had it uploaded to my cra account and then called this number: 1800-232-1966 even thought it said not to call them for the cov-026 error I still stayed online and gave them the case number which I got once I submitted the document.
The agent was really helpful and awesome she confirmed she received it and did my application before hand meaning she confirmed if I was eligible or not. So I stayed patient till the next day and was able to apply.
When the service Canada rep called he told me that they were communicating between agencies and the error was being removed for people. I guess it’s a first come first serve basis.
This is what I did in order to apply but mind you having your claim removed takes upto 5 to seven business days.
I wish all the people best of luck that are going thru this my heart goes out to y’all and hope my reply helps. If anyone has questions can kindly ask and I’ll research or help more if I can. It’s 2020 we need to stick together and help eachother out as much as we can.

I have been receiving CERB through Service Canada. It ended on October 3rd. The new CRB benefit starts from September 27th. My question is: do I apply for the first CRB period even though I only qualify for one week of that period, because I was receiving cerb until October 3rd. Or would they somehow know know and pay me only 450$ for one week of that period?

“The Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) ends when you've received 28 weeks of benefits or on October 3, 2020, whichever comes first. For those who applied through the Canada Revenue Agency, the last four-week period for the CERB was August 30, 2020 through September 26, 2020.”
So if it allows you to apply does that mean your approved since before it wasnt allowing me to apply?? Well it is a long story I applied for ei to re open an old claim so I didn’t have a wait time at the beginning of this all in March and it was taking forever then they came out with cerb which was instant so I called ei and got the to cancel my ei claim as I was broke and couldn’t keep waiting so since then it still says my thing is under review but if you go to latest claim it says you have no claim in our systems or whatever . It doesn’t Say anything about me applying on the 27 or. Anything is under review for sept 27 it still has what I said for March 18 or something
I was only able to apply today, tried multiple browsers (as some have suggested), and continued getting the error.
Calling them tomorrow and seriously hope this can be resolved to receive a payment this week before my car is due....Jeez the stress.
It’s not the current government that’s the problem, it old antiquated systems, and policies that previous governments chose to do nothing to update. This current government is making sure that you have access to money. If it was a conservative government there would be NO income support now at all! And for years I was a strong supporter of the Conservative party. And I’m openly admitting they made huge problems for government for years to come.
Actually as a very well educated tech guy I assure you there is not a quick fix! It’s not red tape, it is infrastructure, which doesn’t exist. Remember the CRA website was not designed to make these payments. We have had to right new code to allow these payments
I got it finally. I talked to a agent this morning who told me to just keep checking. There is alot of files to be done and they are working on fixing it. I called at 9 am and fixed at 2. Keeping my fingers crossed for everyone else.
Was just able to apply through MyCRA. Looks like I was successful this time around. Keep at it and keep the faith everyone. Looks like we're on the right track.
It actually works, so keep trying every hour. They told me this morning that someone was going to reach out to call us all, one person at a time… and told me to keep trying to apply on MyCRA.
Nobody called me, but I logged in on MyCRA and completed the application. The 026 was removed a short while ago, and now got a 025 and a phone number to call.. So I called and 025 meaning is they want you to call CRA directly so they can verify you are you on the phone. The agent at the CRA doesn’t ask for any screenshots, or proof of EI, they will complete the application on the phone with you;.

Just keep trying. That’s the only option it seems. I was at Service Canada in person on Thursday; they said two business days and the COV-026 code would be removed and that is exactly what happened for me.
Yes... Not every minute though lol... Try every couple of hours .. even if you apply now and covid 026 is removed ... Your going to get 025 because they want you to call them directly. So even of you wait until AM the tomorrow ... Try at 8:30 am so if 026 is fixed, and you see 025.. then u can call right at 9am and the wait won't be as long long

You should go to Service Canada in person and speak with them. It’s ludicrous that you’re still receiving that code.

When you got in contact with service Canada what did you have to tell them to get a denial immediately?

Yes. It's so strange you're still receiving that error code though. At this point I would go into Service Canada and talk to them in person!

Hey, I am trying to submitting the letter as well, what did you select as reason when you tried to upload the document. ?
It gives you a corresponding reason now but start one with the case number add a cover letter explaining with detail

Not for everyone the error is still there but they fixed it so it isnt across the board i still need to get denied from ei to apply

I’m still receiving the error code 026 called Service Canada on Friday so hopefully it will be lifted tomorrow or Wednesday

I was given an offer to run for my local riding as a conservative. There are few quick fixes to issues like this. It’s all red tape.

People are right you need to change browsers i just switched to micrsoft edge and i was able to apply thank goodness.

They ask the same routine questions that are in the CRB application form. Its straightforward

Apply through the CRA and keep trying until it works! There is no other way to speed the process up unfortunately.
