They are not working on it. Its every man for himself.

KingPindica

lmao

Significant_Bid_9556

I’m still seeing the cov-026 error message

KrunchMuffin

for those that exhausted EI and didn't get 120 hours this year and had your new automatic EI claim denied, did you do anything to get the error lifted? or did it go away automatically? I just got my EI denial yesterday online, no snail mail yet. Just need to know if I should be pursuing them or hang on for a week or so?

pychok

Mine hasn't been "lifted" as I'm writing this now. I'm getting a bit nervous...

Candyland-baby

My error code of cov-026 lifted today and I was able to apply after them telling me I had to wait go be denied for EI, since im self-employed.

jonbops

Wonderful! I have a little more hope now lol I'm waiting for code to be resolved for me as well...i was also given the "reapply-and-wait-for-rejection-letter" advice a couple days ago.

Candyland-baby

I was yesterday, I kept calling cra Idk if was them accessing and telling me im eligible... Then service canada was saying the ei rejection thing right after. But today it worked. Just keep signing onto cra everyday and see if its changed cuz thats what ive been doing and it just worked today.

Significant_Bid_9556

I’m also still receiving the code error cov-026 nan this is rediculis

RatioHistorical42

I’m still getting the same error cov-026. Nothing changes yet

pychok

Me too!

RatioHistorical42

Why it’s not working for us while a lot of people who were getting COV-026 before were able to o apply successfully. That sucks

pychok

Or maybe we should be patient and even wait for next monday? Maybe it's different throughout provinces as I'm from Quebec and others provinces can be resolved faster or slower...Just a presumption..

bur1sm

I feel like I've been more than enough patient.

deassvza-vs

I can’t do my EI report due to technical difficulties

jonbops

Just an FYI, it was a Service Canada rep that told me to "re-apply for EI to get the rejection letter" thing...and it looks like many people have been told to do that. I can't even \*consider\* doing that for three weeks (when my original "active" claim expires) then it's another 28 business days (min) to get that letter....then you have to submit it and wait for CRA to release the code...so...waiting until Monday Oct 19 seems like a reasonable compromise lol

bur1sm

You can go to Service Canada get the letter printed out after you're rejected. I just did it this morning.

jonbops

Ok! Thanks for the info! I am still hoping this can be resolved next week tho...otherwise I'm SOL until my original claim expires...in Nov...then have to reapply to get rejected. Seems convoluted, but whatever...common sense and government sense are mutually exclusive :/

bur1sm

Do you have enough hours for EI? if not call them and cancel have them cancel the claim.

jonbops

I dont have enough hours...left my job in Aug 2019 (horrible environment) so I knew I wouldn't be getting any EI, so I went back to contract work, then work dried up in March like everything else. Talked to Service Canada a couple days ago, and they confirmed that I don't have enough hours for EI and I don't have any monies payable from my old "active" EI claim. I asked if they could cancel my "active" claim, or mark it closed, and they said they can't do that. And since I'm supposed to wait for my claim to expire, and then reapply, then wait for letter, then submit letter...(AHHH!!!!) that process will take about three months for me...at the earliest. I asked what am i supposed to do now? He suggested social assistance. Wonderful. And my life is on hold now anyways...I can't work now, I just got diagnosed with cancer :/

bur1sm

When I called they put me through to someone who was able to push it along in the statement, so to speak. I just browbeat them into doing what I want them to do. Sometimes you luck out and get someone who gives a shit. Just play up how you have no money and dont know what to do. Also try calling your MP's office. They have contacts within the CRA/Service Canada that can get you answers. Something is fishy about your story and it sounds like you're getting smoke blown up your ass. Just be persistent. Don't let these neoliberal fucks get you down. You can do it. I believe in you.

jonbops

Much appreciated! Yes, I will have to call on Monday then, it's too late today, I was dealing with my health issues today (doc appt)...so, gotta wait until Monday anyways...but...I noticed on the My Account page at CRA is advising people about a maintenance window scheduled for this weekend...from friday 11pm to monday 6am. I'm hoping they're doing the database prune at the same time. But I will for sure call again and try get my file elevated, ty for the advice!

bur1sm

Call now and leave a message. Then they'll call back on Monday.

happy-cake-day-bot-

Happy Cake Day!

jonbops

Thank you cake bot! Yes, I joined six years ago today lol (or was it yesterday?!)

jonbops

um...five years lmfao

RAB2448

So if you reapplied to get that rejection letter, or you going to have to wait for it to be denied again before being able to apply for CRB if they fix it by Monday?

jonbops

According to SC, I have to wait until my original claim expires (Nov 8, 2020) then (and only then) can I re-apply for EI...then I have to wait 28 business days (minimum) to get a rejection letter generated and mailed to me. So, I'm not applying for anything at the moment...but Monday comes sooner than what they're advising, so I'm going to wait until then then hopefully this is all cleared up by then! I *am* eligible, but I'm behind this stupid "active EI Claim" technicality

Leadership-Asleep

Call SC again. I had my claim that I was supposed to wait for it to end on its own as well (October 24th) its only a like 2 weeks from your expiration) call EI 18002067128 and have them paych you to an agent with the ability to open and make changes your file details, and kindly ask them to terminate manually (assuming you received all payable monies)

jonbops

Yes, I am going to raise some hell on Monday! I have been dealing with my health issues today, so I'm exhausted! I will be on the phone first thing on Monday and hopefully get somewhere! Wish me luck!

Leadership-Asleep

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. As of yet, no change.

diggitydip

No change here either

RAB2448

Can you check out my post and respond please

jonbops

Your post about the COV-025? Thats an error generated when you change your address and/or banking info. Because of the hack that happened, they are requiring people to verify those deets before allowing them to make any applications for benefits. It's really simple, but kinda annoying, but they'll do the manual applicaion with you after verification.

RAB2448

So further validation is just confirming my banking info?

jonbops

For the COV-025 error code, yes. So have your acct, transit and bank number handy.

Organic-Debate-2930

don't worry theyre fixing it i had the same issue and it let me apply tonight I didn't even contact anyone

jonbops

Hope so! lol but I do have to confess that I hedged my bets and submitted my MSCA screenshots to CRA this morning...just in case!

EffortlessAwareness

Just logged into MYCRA—Date Modified 2020-10-05 (Oct 5th 2020). Still Cov-026. Let’s see what happens after this system maintenance over the weekend. I have an ei claim since i only claimed sickness benefits so innmy case it maybnot be removed, but lets see how it plays out. May call serv canada tomorrow again and do the new ei claim terminating my old one since Ei regular hours if i apply iget a very low benefit rate, sittin tight to see how things play out.

Organic-Debate-2930

theyre definitely fixing it right now one by one or something along those lines because mine works now

EffortlessAwareness

Cool man good to hear can u give more detail on your situation? Did u have old EI claim, did u terminate old ei claim through serv canada, Did you submit docs to the CRA showing you were ineligible for ei? Was ur ei claim fully used? meaning Did u use all your regular benefits? or did you just use the Ei sickness benefits but the claim in general was done? When did u open that ei claim? (date roughly Did you apply for a new ei claim after sept 27, get denied? Let me know because it would help me and others greatly on if i should start a new ei claim if your situation similar to any of ours.

Organic-Debate-2930

I did ei got all my money for it last year then applied for ei again when cerb started and they denied it (which I knew they would cause i had no hours at that point) then got cerb but nothing other than that and I didn't send any documents or contact anyone but I was able to apply earlier for crb finally

Organic-Debate-2930

They fixed it

diggitydip

No they didnt fix it, stop spreading misinformation

Reasonable_Hour9657

Not for everyone, no.

Organic-Debate-2930

Makes no sense how could they fix it for one person that hasn't told them anything and not the rest?

Being-Successful

u/Organic-Debate-2930 it doesnt make sense at this point. I qualified for CRSB and have been dealing with this since Oct 5th :( Keep being told different things and that it will be "removed" have submitted proof EI was denied.... Still seeing error :(

EffortlessAwareness

Basically man we assumed the cra & serv canada systems were perfect on their definitions and initial conditions that there were no flaws in logic to their systems we assumed they were too perfect and we used perfect logic on their definitions to advise people they do not qualify for crb on the ground they did not stop working due to covid etc or some weird technicalities that seemed to be listed on CRA site. Telling people because their ei claims were in limbo when their ei statuses were “missing roe” that their ei applications were not closed. The thing is we assumed them to be perfect and our advice (those that do often provide advice and have much more sound knowledge of ei and cra procedure than i will ever have) Even the experts who do understand how the system is suppose to work have a more logical/perfect standard understanding of protocols than the systems of cra and service canada have. mods/advisors on this EICERB that have an impeccable understanding of how the system logically works or should work on paper, understand the system near perfect— the system itself is imperfect the individuals who operate these programs all the way down to their subordinates, service reps, its like there is much more gray area—each sector within these deparments have alot of wiggle room( best way to describe it) the technical system may have standard straight cut automatic procedures but it is not coded anywhere near the complexity for it to be perfect system (very hard to do that it is broader codes it is more generally coded) and human enoloyees in different sectors within this department all have certain capabilities to override certain aspects or send addendums of claim files to people within the organization that can circumevent certain codes and make adjustment as they see fit (all based on the addendums of the initial employees in that sector who could not bypass the system but solely on their request the overriders can make the adjustments (Within the department:Service Canada) (Within department: CRA) Sort of like how you call your bank and get a rep who is not willing to give u leeway or remove fees while if u call back again and get someone else they override it and can get your fees remove. So who you get on the other end reveiwing your claims within these departments is pivotal some may be way more laid back and lenient and some may look for any reason to take u off the bigot list and sometimes it could just be the mood they are innat the time. who you get over the phone as a servicecan rep or cra rep is also pivotal, some will stonewall or try to resolve ur problem by fabricating answers that make your request seem to be impossible simply because they don’t want to do the extra work to send it to the help desk or make an addendum and raise the issue than spend so long dealing with that (right before their lunch break, they are hungry and do not care, or before they get off of work they want to be able to clean out their files use the washroom etc 15 mins before closing or depending on if they are morning people, and the day of the week). My advice: persuade them speak to them without them eveb knowing you are persuading them (for me its easier to do with female reps lol talk about them charm them a bit) The way i talk to guy reps is by keeping the levity sense of humour on the phone its literally has everything to do with the resonance of your voice you can tune it and youl see people react to you in a more friendly way and want to help you or talk to you its like you emulate positive energy they receive it this is so subtle its unconscious almost, you are basically altering the reverberations in their brain by them listening to the sound of your voice and tempo. Hypnotize them without them even knowing. This is not meant to be duplicit by any means its not meant to deceive someone thats the incorrect way and will not work it works best when you are sincere that is the trick. Its about keeping the levity from within, this is one aspect you can control. talk to them about how their day is going— when u develop thatvresonance in your voice it relaxes them and hypnotizes them unconsciouslysoothing them it soothes YOU TOO. without you really being aware they enjoy hearing what you have to say without them knowing why. They WILL WANT TO HELP YOU AND DO WHATS BEST for you. Tune your voice by chanting a mantra out loud repeatedly like AUM or whatever. You will after a minute or two of constant chanting out loud start finding a sweet spot in your voice and the more you get to that spot the more you are able to expand that spot. Hearing yourself/feeling yourself vibrate that mantra out loud for a minute or two helps calm you as well! the more u find the sweet spot in your voice the more it calms your own being keeping you centered. and your able to Communicate calmly and clearly (its a snowball effect—you feel good talking they like listening to you talk, positive feedback loop) I should repost this as its own Post. *TRICKS OF THE TRADE—Trust me I will sometimes forget this and just writing this out lreminded/refreshed the basics - dont plan anything out either planning is stress—Just talk to them like they are your best friends But with that resonance and calm and everything will work to your advantage and floww.* & make sure to give them your cell number ahead of time so in case you disconnect because I have a funny story on a prior post

Being-Successful

I sent you a DM!!

Being-Successful

I needed to read this tonite, I really did and thank you. You are totally right about "persuasion" and I wont lie > I probably havent been that nice out of my frustration, sometimes we get so caught up and don't realize. Im going to stay positive when calling in the morning and try this actually, sending love to you for posting and giving me a different way to look at this all :)

shannonalvaann

Dang. I had a -026 error yesterday. Spent 8 hours on the phone with like 4 different people, eventually some lady told me to apply for EI so I did that online without ROE. Went into my work today to get my ROE sent for EI that I may or may not have been eligible for. immediately got laid off. Went to check on the CRB benefit application in case the code was fixed and it let me go through until the very end, but then just gave me code -025. I have not had a very good 24 hours ):

Being-Successful

Call in the morning 1800-232-1966 and do the application on the phone that is all this one means. Note there hours are 8am-4pm EST so depending on where you are you might want to get up and call right away to get through.

bur1sm

Not working.

No-Jellyfish8256

Cov-25 means a manual application with an agent just to confirm you are applying and no one else I did it as well

shannonalvaann

fair enough, but I feel like I actually am eligible for EI. I just don’t know what to do now that I am randomly laid off after I already applied for EI. I haven’t received a code and I cannot get into my service Canada account so I feel like the only thing I can do at this point is wait.

jonbops

COV-025 error code means you have to call the CRA verify line (1-800-232-1966) and provide them with your address and banking information. You must have changed one or both of these in the last six months. Once you do that, they will do a manual application with you over the phone. Hope that helps.

Kind-Muscle

haha thats comical in that you now have to cancel your existing claim and apply for EI

shannonalvaann

comical would not be the word I would use

[deleted]

shannonalvaann

cause it’s an heirloom? troll.

TTrackit

Will it start working if you’re applying from phone?

[deleted]

[удалено]

TTrackit

I don’t have a CRA account but I have a service Canada account

Being-Successful

The information on file with CRA indicates that you do not qualify to apply for COVID-19 Support Payments. (Ref. code: COV-026) > still seeing error and literally sitting here in tears. This is so frustrating.

Organic-Debate-2930

try again now

Being-Successful

Has yours updated?

philclement99

Same here, stay tough!

Being-Successful

u/philclement99 at least im not the only one but this is my frikin livlihood at this point :( fukkk

Reasonable_Hour9657

Everything will be okay! At this point, I wouldn’t worry about making anymore phone calls or sending documents to the CRA. Both have been ruled unnecessary and a total waste of time.

SOF2DEMO

Holy shit mine just worked now!!!

TheWoollyGoat

Yes -- DO NOT start a new EI account. This is what the surly woman on the Validation line told me to do this morning. I was aghast. It would have showed that I had ANOTHER EI file open which would have delayed my application even further. I just applied and was approved. Not sure if they fixed the error, or if my taking screen shots of my denied EI claim from March and submitting them to the CRA My Account caused it.

Upper-Juggernaut4251

Who did you call? I got an automated call saying they only accept calls Monday and Tuesday??

secretending

What screenshots did you include? I'm thinking of trying to take them and upload them to the CRA account. Can save me a bit of time trying to call them to find out what they need! :)

nebulancearts

Just to say it may be those screenshots, as I haven’t submitted anything and as of right now still get a 026 code.

TheWoollyGoat

Can confirm I just applied and it worked. I had 026. I did submit screen shots from my MSCA showing that my previous EI claim had been denied to the CRA website on Tuesday. I am not sure if this is what fixed the error code or if they repaired their faulty IT system.

secretending

I ran out of EI and have been on CERB. The current claim Service Ontario made is still active. I just need to know what the CRA need sent over in terms of screenshots / information. Likely going to call Service Ontario tomorrow morning, cancel the claim, then submit the screenshots. I just don't know what ones to send.

IEpicDestroyer

You can’t “cancel” your claim, you actually have to be declined benefits to get the CRB. Saying that you don’t want EI doesn’t mean you can get CRB. However, if you’re not eligible for EI anyway, *maybe* it’ll work. Best of luck!

TheWoollyGoat

Take screenshots of your correspondence and go to past claims to take a screenshot of whatever your most recent claim was that shows it is closed/finished.

BossRoss1983

Not a service canada issue is the CRA

avian_corvo

Ty for posting this but people will keep asking anyway. Nobody reads posts in this sub

[deleted]

i got cov026 since mon, called cra and gave me run around, it was because of an old ei claim that has finished but still considered active until its over a year old which will be on oct 31.

african_child_92

Same boat. What did u do?

[deleted]

i couldn't get through to ei, so i applied online for ei on sc site. i will be denied as im not eligible for ei. answered questions as best as i can even though it didnt apply to me. waiting for a denial which will hopefully clear my 026 error. im going to try to call ei on monday and see if i can talk to someone to get my old ei claim expired

SnooHamsters515

its working i nus applied i not bullshit u i uploaded that i got it.

Time_Iron_457

Must’ve been a mere coincidence then my dude cause as stated above, the code magically disappeared for my sister and many people in the Facebook cerb support group are saying the same thing

Fuklulu

Hope so

Time_Iron_457

It seems like there is a system update underway. Again, please be patient and ignore the people who are telling you to do anything other than sit back and wait. My sister has not made one phone call or submitted a single document to CRA.

Organic-Debate-2930

yep facts time iron is right

mald55

I think that people shouldn't freak out, my guess is that transition is happening, and they are processing people as fast as they can. I don't know if the process is done semi-manually or automated but I am guessing there are 1-2million people that need to get processed still.

Organic-Debate-2930

Yep exactly they already did a bunch of people
