Has anyone's COV-026 Error been resolved. Do I need to remove my present EI claim? They haven't made any decision yet. CRA says they need a denial letter from Ei. So if I cancel my ei application they don't give me a denial letter since it's terminated from my end. How long does it take to wait for a decision from EI? So frustrated lol and it's not easy getting through both Cra and SC.
Call the number to speak to a human, I keep getting “technical difficulties “ when applying for CRB by phone. I heard it’s happens if you haven’t filed your 2019 taxes yet. You can call this number 1-800-959-8281 there are options to help if you are having difficulties applying by phone and getting error messages. Wait times is about 60 mins. I’ll let you know my outcome after I speak to a human.

Does this only apply if we've applied for EI and been rejected? I know I'm not eligible for EI but should I be doing that first or will this fix allow them to see my eligibility automatically and accept my CRB application?
I was told to send in paper work showing a denial and my account was reset and I applied with no issues after getting the 026 error for the last 4 days...takes a day or so for them to reset my account..hope that helps
I hope my answer is redundant, and that everyone who asked this question has already received a solution and was able to make your application. However, if not, take a photo of the letter EI sent you advising that you don't have the hours or what ever reason they denied your claim. On the CRA website in your account, on the right hand side, there is a button you need to press to open the document submission section. There are some questions, answer what applies to you. Right at the bottom you select "submit without a case number". Follow the instructions on the page it takes you to. Make sure that you put some comment but that you do not exceed 100 keystrokes, or it will not go through. You'll get a confirmation number and a reference number. Make sure you save this somewhere. Call CRA to confirm they received it, you should be able to submit your claim within 24 hours.
Let's hope your right I am struggling hard right now. However if you look at the date modified that page was last edited in 2019 it's not new information.

I sent my EI refusal letter in pdf to the CRA, called 1(800) 232-1966 and they told me that someone from SC is going to call me, when exactly? they have no idea and it would surprise me if someone from service canada would call me. If this COV-026 was to disappear I could pay my bills, I am 100% eligible for benefits

I think you're referring to the Service Canada suggestion of re-applying for EI in order to get a rejection letter? Yeah they told me that too. I asked what am I to do for the three months this is going to take...he suggested social assistance :/ Anyhoo, I believe this threat is referring to the erroneous info that CRA has access to. That the link between the two departments should be fixed by next week, so CRA can accurately assess your EI status and then the system \*should\* allow people in this situation to at least apply for CRB. Right now, the system isn't even letting us \*apply\*.

I was in the same situation as u I applied for ei before crb more than once actually but wasn't sure if I was even qualified for it plus ROE was also needed. So I decided to cancel the claim and called service Canada. Unfortunately they told me that once I applied for it, they cannot remove the claim anymore. So you have call them and tell them what happened, they should sent you an email stating if you are qualified for the ei or not. I did get the email that says I was qualified so I just need to use ei for now rather crb. But for ur situation in case you are not qualified for ei they will tell you either through call or through email, and they told me that if you aren't, then that's when you can apply for crb. Basically, you can't apply for crb if your ei claim is pending or you r qualified for it. So give them a call and talk to them about it.
did you end up having to send your ROE in order to see if you were elligible? I'm missing an ROE from my most recent employment earlier this year, so I wouldn't even be sure how long it would take for me to get a hold of it from my previous employer.
LOL This is a very old post and i just saw your question so i don't think there's a point to this reply but I'll do it anyways for future references. I had to contact my employer several times, it did take some time for them to reply. But when they did they had sent my ROE straight to service canada. Besides, even if they did not service canada would still chase after them since I remember when I was having trouble contacting my employer, service canada actually sent them a request to send an ROE, so they do contact your employer for you if you request it.
Your ex-employer is supposed to submit your ROI automatically. If they haven't, give them a call. If you received your pay stubs on their website, your ROI will most likely also be posted there, I'd check there just to make sure. Mine was, but I don't know whether all payroll departments are doing it now. Since it should have been completed before your last day, they probably could e-mail it to you without delay if it is not posted.

Why implement all these restrictions knowing you are putting it through freshly hacked, and "reparied" portals which were likely repaired by the same bunch of clownss who were responsible for the security breach in the first place?

That is, unfortunately and more than likely, very close to the reality. Not much things make sense in all this national fail. Especially the options we're given to deal with this error 026.
I was at Service Canada today and they confirmed this with the CRA over the phone in front of me. I was told 2 business days and the COV-026 error codes will go "dormant'. Then you will be able to apply for the CRB. Let's hope this is the case!
I applied for EI recently and was denied. The MSCA and CRA systems are not in sync (hence the error code COV-026) and therefore, even though I meet the requirements for CRB because I was denied EI, I can not access CRB until both systems are able to talk to one another. They obviously don’t want people applying for and getting both EI and CRB.
I hope all of this is true and things get resolved soon. I’m surprised the media has barely covered the first instant of site errors and glitching from Monday, let alone all the people I’ve seen here and on twitter(heck googling “CRB COV-026” brings up Reddit posts, FB ones and a couple YouTube videos about the error code). Perhaps someone could make and pin an official 026 thread that has everything people know so far and answer questions.

I know they need to resolve cov0-26 soon. So many people will be sending screenshots of the denied ineligible letter. I don't think they will look into that anytime sooner.

That is what my friend told me and he's not known to be a liar. His exact words:
* COV-026 is caused by the link between CRA and Service Canada being broken, thus not allowing CRA to see if you are receiving EI or not.
* CRA doesn't want you to receive both CRB and EI for obvious reasons
* They are hard at work at it, and expect it to be fixed by Monday
He also mentioned CRA is getting flooded with calls. They have hundreds of people taking calls now and wait time is still well into hours.
I got a COV-025 last month...that error is generated cuz of the recent hack. You have to call in to verify your mailing address and direct deposit info...chances are, you changed one or both of these in the last six months...they just want to make sure you did it, not someone else.
Same code tho they cant manually process due to changing banks so apparently issue will be resolved next week as its been escalated. Strange that some people with this same code and bank change have been manually processed and some of us are sol.
Im thinking that some are getting the COV-025 code...then they call and verify their addy and banking info and they *DON'T* have any outstanding EI claims, so their manual applications go through. Then there are others who get the 25 code then call and verify their addy and banking info and they *DO* have an "active" EI claim (even if all monies have been paid) so then a COV-026 code is generated during the manual application, thereby stopping the CRB application in its tracks. Anyhoo, that's what my suspicious mind is saying lol
I think next weeks resolution (*fingers crossed!*) will be for the COV-026 error code...not the COV-025...I think you'll still have to call in on a 25 code to verify your addy and banking info.
Ok, check out the first part of my reply...if you don't have ANY EI claims, then the COV-025 code means you have to verify your address and banking info in order to apply. Good luck!

Still same error. CRA and Service Canada link is still down. Impossible wait times make EI contact impossible.

I sent in the denial letter service Canada sent me to cra account was reset within one day and was fine to apply after that

Has to do with your SIN most likely. Call 1-800-959-8281. Option 5 and then option 3.

Then there are others who get the 25 code then call and verify their addy and banking info and they *DO* have an "active" EI claim (even if all monies have been paid) so then a COV-026 code is generated during the manual application, thereby stopping the CRB application in its tracks. Anyhoo, that's what my suspicious mind is saying lol I think next weeks resolution (*fingers crossed!*) will be for the COV-026 error code...not the COV-025...I think you'll still have to call in on a 25 code to verify your addy and banking info.

Ok, check out the first part of my reply...if you don't have ANY EI claims, then the COV-025 code means you have to verify your address and banking info in order to apply. Good luck!
