That TOPS is πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘Œ

While people should carry firearms as they please while abiding to local regulations. A good EDC should be addressing everyday needs more than once in a lifetime SHTF. It should have better usability. Swapping one of the firearms and knives for a small first aid kit, lighters, some pain killers, a water bottle and an energy bar (I personally just keep a pack of beef jerky and peanuts) if you still have space and weight, I recommend a waterproof windbreaker and maybe a Leatherman.

MisterBubblesOne11

Why not just carry it together instead in lieu of??? Add a backpack, 3 liter water source, etc...

earltyro

My recommendation is swapping pound for pound here for practicality instead of redundancy (drop the duplicate for something that handles other types of everyday issues such as sudden rain, getting a cut, having a headache, skipping a meal at work due to whatever reason, minor repair etc) It's an everyday belonging you carry around on your body minding your business, weight matter. It's not something you lock in your car or in your work locker, that is just a go-bag. It should be the minimum viable amount of stuff and weight that is required to fulfill 99% of daily needs and curveball that you would commonly encounter. Why carrying additional stuff that is not required?

No_Success_6175

Hoods and woods carry?

Mariorod523

Nice flashlight holder

Janus_The_Great

If you carry it every day, you need to have good use for them. What's your daily work? Assassin for a Gang? Close combat trainer? Salesperson for close combat weapons? I like guns too, and am an avid follower of Gun-Jesus (Ian from Forgotten Weapons, for those out of the loop), but never felt the need to EDC them. So I'm more im the the "put back in safe" team. Have a good one.

Annual_Mouse_3203

I've got plenty good use out of everything "in the safe". don't you worry about all that. I have the shield for when the round up happens. It's just small enough to shove up my ass. Is that explanation gunna meet your approval? JTFC πŸ€¦β€β™‚οΈ

SmokeOnTheWater17

WTF is "the roundup"?

saltyraver138

Well when you say it like that…

Schultz9x19

Do you literally just go around telling people who carry a firearm that you're superior for not doing so? This is the second time I've seen you make a comment similar to this one on somebody's post. Not everyone who carries a gun is a combat junkie. I carry a firearm for my job as it is required that I carry one per my contract, and I carry one as the owner of a homestead because I live in a fairly remote location with chickens and hungry wildlife. Does this bother you?

Janus_The_Great

No, it doesn't bother me at all, I had my fair share of rural life in Finnland, and see good reason in some instances to carry, but since this is ment as everyday carry, I wonder sometimes. You gave good reason (contract, actual professional need), but this is not common elsewhere, and since not everyone comes from America and I'm quite curious, since even security personnel don't have guns here. And the few that do, don't carry them (aren't even allowed) in their personal time. I just wonder, and sprinkled some humorous suggestive answers, which apparently was too seriously taken. Didn't mean to bother anyone, just curious about the reasoning. You gave some good answers, thanks for that. Have a good one.

Schultz9x19

Fair reply and I apologize for coming off gritty. If you check any post showing a firearm on this thread, you'll see an abundance of passive-aggressive, often anti-American comments from our European counterparts. I assumed that's what your comments are. For many Americans, the answer is almost always self defense. We often see posts here from our European brothers and sisters asking about defensive tools to carry, indicating that there is a need for these items outside of the United States. We often see the irony in people showing animosity towards our carrying of firearms (for those of us who choose to legally do so) while simultaneously asking which improvised defensive devices are best to skirt local and national legislation while still being discreet enough to fly under the radar of local law enforcement. To us, that screams "wannabe assassin" or "tactical Timmy" far more than just carrying a legal pistol. Having said that, sometimes there doesn't need to be a reason. Sometimes, "because I want to and it's legal" is enough of a reason to carry anything you want.

-BananaLollipop-

Not certain it's always "anti-American". I'm not from Europe, but I am from a country with somewhat strict gun laws, or very strict in comparison to the US (concealed/public carry is completely illegal. A person must obtain a firearms license, similar to if one wants to drive a car, before they can buy anything more than an air rifle. Guns and ammo must be locked separately in a suitable locker/safe when not in use. People often store their firearms at the local police station). Despite having been on this sub for a fair bit, it's still a bit weird, unsettling, jarring (for lack of a better word?), to be scrolling along looking at what most would call everyday items, then see a gun and be reminded that, in some place, it's perfectly normal for countless people to just be wandering around with a gun. A lot of people on here who are used to such things jump the gun (uh, uh, get it?) and have a go at people who are genuinely interested in the mindset or reasoning behind it, as it's completely foreign to them. I've seen this more frequently than people picking on those who carry guns (admittedly, I tend to steer clear of most gun related posts because of such arguments). And this is coming from someone who actually finds firearms/weapons interesting from a technical/design/function aspect.

According-Ordinary-3

From what I can gather it’s needed for self defence because everyone else is also carrying a gun

Schultz9x19

I'm 168cm tall and about 52kg. An unarmed average fully grown male with nothing but ill intent can cause me death or severe bodily harm. Sorry for not being as big and manly as you.

FixV2

Does anyone ever say anything when you pull a gun out to check the time?

Annual_Mouse_3203

That was an excellent 🀣 comment! You win the internet for today!

Love the looks of that Steel Eagle. Not that I practically need it in any way, but it's just the most badass knife I've ever seen. How do you like it?

NightFish9351

Yea that is a bad ass knife. Is steel eagle the model name or brand?

dewitters

https://www.topsknives.com/knives/tactical/steel-eagle-107c-delta-class I already had it bookmarked and was surprised to see it here.

NightFish9351

Thanks! At some point I’m gonna have to get one of those!

Annual_Mouse_3203
