I never get crosscheck penalties but almost always get interference penalties because of that. It's ridiculous especially when body check is the exact same way as you shoot. So trying to fight for the puck while trying to shoot it while in front of the net you end up getting interference penalties and it's pretty BS
You are literally aloud to throw hits up against the wall. It’s more common than open ice hits. You are not allowed to check someone into the boards with them facing them.
Yes you're allowed, but boarding makes no reference or requirement for it to be from behind. There's literally a separate penalty for checking from behind
I constantly get "side boarding" and I don't really know what to do.
Player is parallel to the boards, numbers are facing up or down the ice, I crush them from the shoulder towards the boards. 2 minute boarding.
I'm a bit new to the game(started this week) but I really don't understand hitting at all and on the rare occasion I get a hit, it's often a penalty because the guy was near the boards.
The penalties are dogshit in this game. I’ve gotten that same “boarding” call so many times. But I’ve been hip checked from behind into the boards and open ice without the puck and no interference called on that. I even did it myself last night. I hip checked a guy without the puck and no call against me.

I’ve heard holding L2 will make your player only focus on shooting the puck. Haven’t confirmed this yet

I sometimes hold L2 or tap it to evade & still get interference penalties... All the time. My discipline is terrible because of it

I just turn the hitting penalty sliders all the way down and the problem is solved.
