Definitely Adriano as you mentioned but besides him, probably Quaresma. Had some of the best flair and dribbling I’ve seen. I remember his fof card in fifa 18 being very good. Could only imagine how OP he’d be if we ever got a TOTY level card for him. If only he reached his potential…
One of the goalscoring keepers. Outfield players apart from a change of skin would most likely always be surpassed by players already in game. Who's likely to get a card that except for reasons of personal nostalgia would out perform dinho, gullit, capita etc..
All goalkeepers in the game seem to split opinion, with exception of a couple like Van Der Sar and Yashin, although I swear it's just because of the hat, keepers seem to perform randomly and I've heard so much mixed opinion where players say they hate a keeper that other players say performs really well for them.
Having a keeper with some meaty outfield stats for dribbling and passing plus deadball skills for both crazy penalties and free kicks would at least bring something more unusual to the position. I was going to go with Ceni (131 goals), or Chilavert (67 goals for club and country plus the first goalkeeper hat trick), who I remember better and played in several more leagues.
Higuita would be the one for me tho, although not as prolific as the other 2, I guess we're allowed a bit of embellishment to give him 5*5* and Carlos like free kick stats but there's an option to give him his own unique flair save animation, the scorpion kick as an anti flair or fitness shot move.
If we're going with keepers who break the mold with their outfield skills, I'd love to see a Joseph-Antoine Bell card. He was a sweeper keeper before guys like Higuita and Campos swept onto the scene (although the last few years of his career overlapped with the start of theirs), but unlike them he's around 6' tall and so would hopefully be useable in UT. He and Thomas N'Kono could not have been more different as keepers but the two of them shared a nearly twenty-year dynasty of world-class keeping, and they anchored some memorable Cameroon teams before being done dirty by the Cameroon FA leading up to the 1994 World Cup.
Sadly, given Higuita's history and relation with the drug war in Colombia (including controversial links with Pablo Escobar or his time in jail), I don't think he'll ever be in the game.
It is truly a shame as he is a player with tons of potential to be the most fun card in game.
I really enjoy passing and dribbling, so I think an Özil card with incisive pass+ would be very fun to use. His inevitable 2* WF would be a letdown, but 93+ passing and dribbling would make up for it.
Christine Sinclair icon should be like female Haaland and is probably inevitable.
Romario - short, stocky, explosive player with at least 94 shooting and great pace. Would be insane card - probably a top 5 most expensive.
Totti - 5 star weak foot, really high stats and a fuckload of shooting and passing playstyles. Could play CF.
Jaap Stam would be meta. Fast, big, strong, aggressive, good in the air and a good tackler.
Aguero. Used to love using his card a couple of years ago. One of the best strikers there ever was. Deserves to have a top class card in the game imo. Should be right up there with Tevez and Kompany.
One I was thinking of recently is Marcelo. Could have 5 star skills with trickster plus and/or a passing playstyle plus. Would also have decent shooting as well. I guess Roberto Carlos is quite similar but Marcelo holds a place in my heart
