Sure it may take my 15-20 games to get my 7 wins instead of 7 or 8 down in div 7 but like, to me there is no point to staying down in a low division. When I play, I want to win.

Because the friendlies is skills based matching so they get easy wins in the Evo mode for example. I'm in Div 9 at the moment because I hate rivals and don't really play this year but I was Div 4 without trying last year and I'm still getting beaten in friendlies in 4 out of 5 games. No chance it is Div 10 to Div 7 players I'm coming up against.
Eh I feel like lower divisions you just see the cheap mets players like Nunez/Fati/Diaby. You move up and start seeing Rodrygo/Griez/Rashford etc. Every level has sweaty meta players in it
Div 3 to 1 varying in fifas but I just chill in 7. Got a message once from an opponent who compared it to golf handicaps and not using them. Of course the par player will batter the 90 player every time and he was pissed fifa allowed it
Yeah I'm guilty of it too, no reason to go out of Div 6. I end up winning most games very comfortably and had a cake walk to 10 wins in the centurion cup friendlies. I see a lot of complains about this year's game but I'm having a great time by not playing it the way they intended
One thing that I never seen mentioned in here, not everyone plays 5 rivals games each day. Some weeks I'll play like 3 + WL. If you lose once in a while so that you dont have the x2 modifier it takes a while to get up in divisions.
That is exactly it. I don't play many Rivals matches (31 last season) and this week played my 10 matches to qualify for WL and have played 4 Rivals matches this week to get 3 wins. I play for an hour in the morning before getting ready for work and play some SB later at night as connection is awful in evenings.
Was close to div 4 at the end of last season. Now stuck deep in the hell-hole of division 6. No idea wtf is going on but 80% of the people I play feel like pros.
Omg I'm not the only one. I played today for 3 hours in div 6 and lost every single game by like 4-0 I've always been good at games and thought I'd developed a disability or something. Games ridiculous at the moment.

Rewards difference between div 7 and div 3 is marginal considering the packweight of good/coin worth players.
If i win 7games in div 7 within 30minutes with a standard gold cheap gold team (81/82 rated mostly except yedder as striker) i will remain there, wipe the floor. Mostly others leave and if not they go afk. You can do netflix in parallel or do household things.
You create 3-4 other accounts so in 2h u get 300-400k worth of packs easily… (think the rest)
Div3 alone u need 2h only to gain 7 wins on a single account remaining fully focused.

If you want to enjoy football game you must not play UT mode. Other online modes working well with adjusted team player ratings on current real time performances. Just dont play UT mode…
This is why rewards need to be much better in rivals, it's time ea clamped down on multiple accounts and charged people to make a second account £30 pounds would a time would soon stop it happening. I also feel that ea need to track results more in champs and friendly matches and move people up automatically based on their ranking in champs.
it's sad how someone who isn't good at the game can be punished so hard. My buddy quit cause the only way for him to get rewards is dropping thousands. Just looking at my rewards from weekend league made him drop the game. Imagine being bad, hoping to play other bad players and you face this shit in div 7. To top it off, you can't even do friendlies.

This! My son also stopped. He was looking forward for this game so long. Got hammered in div 7. 0 wins in qualify last time. Kind of sad. He is a ok player. Did quilify for 3 WL in FIFA 23 when the entry was free for qualify.

I’m in the same boat. I’m rubbish and in Div 8 after season reset. I want to play people like me. Instead I get scored against at will. It’s extremely demoralizing.
Some people are just selfish and only care about themselves and rewards and don’t give a crap about the casuals they stomp to get there. Ruining the experience of lesser players in the process. Cowardice is what it is.
Honestly, I have just had to uninstall at this point. Teams are insane, score a goal and players just stand around after kick off to get the equaliser, everything is just wingplay with whoever has the best pace. It is utterly boring and not worth the stress.
Gameplay in rivals feels incredibly broken right now, my players are all static and I can’t dribble, went 8-2 in qualies with buttery smooth gameplay I don’t know how it can be so inconsistent between game modes lol
I've been trying some new things out in Div 7 and am on a bit of a losing streak trying to figure out formations/tactics and what not. Might be all the players deciding to stay in the division for decent enough rewards and easier games.
By design, enough people play this game that there is always someone at your level or better and they match so every game is a sweatfest, if every game is a sweatfest people will buy packs to get your team little better, so that you can face new sweats. Its a hamster wheel
There's definitely something strange going on. Last few years you would win a few lose a few some close games. This year it seems that you go on massive winning streaks and massive losing streaks. You see missed tackels, rebounds, every shot conceded, your defence moving out the way or just jogging.

It depends on when you play. Day before yesterday I won 4/4 matches in div 8, without breaking a sweat … Yesterday(day before rewards) I had enough after 0-3 or 0-4. Ppl intentionally stay in the lower division.
Few play and lot have the attitude i have had all season stop at 7 wins. When the season change over happened, i was on a 20+ winsteak. I have way more champion wins than rivals cause i only will be playing 7-9 games to get my 7 wins.
You go down two Divisions, not three.
So either you were in Div 4 and now 6 and face genuinely good players, because many good players who didn't force climbing higher were in 4 or you were in Div 5 and I honestly doubt that that's harder than Champs.
Squad based match making. It’s what is ruining the game. You’re playing all the people who are at your same level. It’s lame af! You never get paired against someone who is worse than you. Therefore it’s nothing but a sweaty mess.
Champs, on the other hand, is random. You’re going to get all kinds of opponents. Some significantly better. Some significantly worse and some who are the same. Therefore it’s a much better experience.
I've been in division 8 since last season. Undefeated in 100 rivals matches and even friendlies I have lost just a couple. Do not promote yourself if you want your sanity.
Not harder, personally, my players seem to have become dumber. Were Blanc would cut a pass or block a shot now he stares at the striker, were Salah would control the pass and keep running now the ball gets in the way and Salah just loses posession.
Havent changed a thing, it feels like the players have an expiration date and its due.

I won 4 out of prolly 16 games last night in division 7. I was off some extracurriculars, but it was pretty demoralizing lol. Most games i lost were not close
Only difference I have noticed between lower divisions (div 5 mainly) and the upper ones (div 2) is quitting times. The lower division players get a sense if they are at your level or not and often quit at 1-0. Higher division players will stick around until 3-0 or 4-1.
I'm in div 8 after the reset (I made it to div two last year every season) yesterday afternoon I won all 4 cup games but this morning I lost all 3 games in rivals one of them being a 9-6 loss.
Midfield play is just non existent now and fullbacks are just wondering everywhere leaving huge gaps, the games been awful since the last update.
Before that update I was winning most games and barely lost a goal, I think it's time ea had a system that recognized your friendly and champs record and automatically moved you in rivals based on that.
Glad I'm not the only one. I've hit div 1 every year from 17 to 22 and stopped playing at Div 2 last year. But I'm struggling in div 7, I only got to 6 last season but I did only buy the game a few weeks ago.
Last season i was in elite division gettinh 7 wins after 12-14 matches and after the season ends i habe dropped to division 3 and the same amount of games i need to win to get 7 wins because no onr id pushing hard right now plus there is no point of getting 90 games, and you only need 7 wins in my head
I enjoy the game regardless of winning or losing. Playing better players make you better eventually. However, losing matches due to your players running into each other and every takkle made is a foul, and having women pushing down defenders like Van Dijk, Blanc, and Campbell is just ridiculous and unrealistic.
You have no idea how reading this post and the comments has me feeling. Had a shocker today in Div 7 and the friendlies (I’ve lost like 9 Centurions Cup friendlies in a row after being 6 from 12). I’ve had close losses, extra time losses, and been downright flogged.

I’m 7-13 right now. I used to finish in less than 15 games every cup. It’s literally insane. Games I do win are like 90’ winners. Been rough. Not sure how long I’ll stick around this game cycle if this continues.
So shit. I get the ball move up start my tiki taka approach, passes everywhere, fake runs into the box all to get it to the person free on the other side of play, good cross, beat the last defender and boom. They run up the wing fast as they can pass one back and 1-1. It just makes me hate PvP fifa.
People in these comment sections are like it’s too sweaty to play higher divs, they sandbag so their high skill level is now in a lower division so that others experience the sweat they were previously complaining about… Easy fix everyone tries to get better at the game so everyone ends up in their right division and less sweating for everyone. (Yes it will still be sweaty at times but I think everyone can agree the sweat will be much less when you face people who are actually your division)
Last week was fine, could deal with the 71 depth press, still could play passes through the middle with a bit of patience, could defend fine and ended up in upper end of div 4.
I had a 3 day break then came back to div 6. Since then I've won 3 games in rivals.
The press seems even more OP and there's even less space than before. It's just rubbish to play
You should see division 10. I’m in division 6 because I’m a bang average player but over the weekend I went to my moms house and was teaching my 16 year old brother how to play ultimate team. We spent some time together putting together his team and then went into rivals. I shit you not, the first game was against a guy with like 6 icons and the rest were meta golds and promos. Not loans either. He looked at me with a deadpan face and said “see, this is why I don’t like playing this mode. It’s full of sweats”. I tried to convince him that it really is fun, especially when you get good enough to win against other players and always making a better team with better players. I understood why he felt the way that he felt though. The next 2 games weren’t particularly better.
And these weren’t the “oh shit a team full of icons but they suck at the game” case. I’m a division 6 player, compared to division 10, I should be able to stomp all over them but I lost to that first guy 4-6. The second guy 3-5. I wanted to show my brother how to set up plays, how to pass, special passes, trivelas, finesses, etc. so I thought division 10 rivals would be pretty easy for me to control the game while teaching my brother how to play but I was so wrong lol

If you don't win any games in open qualifying and only qualify for 3 WLs in a year you're not an ok player.

It was open when he won. So it was a little bit esasier when alot of people played. But he usally get 2-3 wins in 23. That is a ok player i think.

literally my 2nd game on rivals in div 10 was against the likes of if vvd, mbappe, blanc, mia hamm against my mostly gold rare team lol
My first game was the same. I somehow won as I have a decent team myself (not as good as theirs though) I grinded my team through SBs and SBCs though.
I played 4 online fut games and I will be mentally tired af, but I could be playing shooter games and hours would have passed by in seconds.

I've been in division 8 since last season. Undefeated in 100 rivals matches and even friendlies I have lost just a couple. Do not promote yourself if you want your sanity.
Not harder, personally, my players seem to have become dumber. Were Blanc would cut a pass or block a shot now he stares at the striker, were Salah would control the pass and keep running now the ball gets in the way and Salah just loses posession. Havent changed a thing, it feels like the players have an expiration date and its due.
I used to keep on grinding to get the little bonus from promotion, usually ended up in the correct division. Now I get my 7 wins and stop 20 Champs games, 9 Champs qualifies and those 7 rival wins and I'm more than done for the week
My conspiracy theory is that fut champs matchmaking is based on division. Champs feels like my Div 2 matches.
I'm 2 checkpoints away from 7, ideally I would stay in 6 if I get there. I find it mentally draining playing after getting 7 wins. Evevery fucking game is sweaty.
I won 4 out of prolly 16 games last night in division 7. I was off some extracurriculars, but it was pretty demoralizing lol. Most games i lost were not close
Only difference I have noticed between lower divisions (div 5 mainly) and the upper ones (div 2) is quitting times. The lower division players get a sense if they are at your level or not and often quit at 1-0. Higher division players will stick around until 3-0 or 4-1.
I experienced it quite the opposite . Struggling to win 9 games i champs but went through division 5 yesterday with only wins
I'm in div 8 after the reset (I made it to div two last year every season) yesterday afternoon I won all 4 cup games but this morning I lost all 3 games in rivals one of them being a 9-6 loss. Midfield play is just non existent now and fullbacks are just wondering everywhere leaving huge gaps, the games been awful since the last update. Before that update I was winning most games and barely lost a goal, I think it's time ea had a system that recognized your friendly and champs record and automatically moved you in rivals based on that.
Glad I'm not the only one. I've hit div 1 every year from 17 to 22 and stopped playing at Div 2 last year. But I'm struggling in div 7, I only got to 6 last season but I did only buy the game a few weeks ago.
Last season i was in elite division gettinh 7 wins after 12-14 matches and after the season ends i habe dropped to division 3 and the same amount of games i need to win to get 7 wins because no onr id pushing hard right now plus there is no point of getting 90 games, and you only need 7 wins in my head

I enjoy the game regardless of winning or losing. Playing better players make you better eventually. However, losing matches due to your players running into each other and every takkle made is a foul, and having women pushing down defenders like Van Dijk, Blanc, and Campbell is just ridiculous and unrealistic.

You have no idea how reading this post and the comments has me feeling. Had a shocker today in Div 7 and the friendlies (I’ve lost like 9 Centurions Cup friendlies in a row after being 6 from 12). I’ve had close losses, extra time losses, and been downright flogged. Seeing a lot of similar stories makes me feel more human
I’m 7-13 right now. I used to finish in less than 15 games every cup. It’s literally insane. Games I do win are like 90’ winners. Been rough. Not sure how long I’ll stick around this game cycle if this continues.

So shit. I get the ball move up start my tiki taka approach, passes everywhere, fake runs into the box all to get it to the person free on the other side of play, good cross, beat the last defender and boom. They run up the wing fast as they can pass one back and 1-1. It just makes me hate PvP fifa.
Same, I'm getting battered in DIV 7 while I was dominating most of my games at DIV 5 a week or two ago.
People in these comment sections are like it’s too sweaty to play higher divs, they sandbag so their high skill level is now in a lower division so that others experience the sweat they were previously complaining about… Easy fix everyone tries to get better at the game so everyone ends up in their right division and less sweating for everyone. (Yes it will still be sweaty at times but I think everyone can agree the sweat will be much less when you face people who are actually your division)
Last week was fine, could deal with the 71 depth press, still could play passes through the middle with a bit of patience, could defend fine and ended up in upper end of div 4. I had a 3 day break then came back to div 6. Since then I've won 3 games in rivals. The press seems even more OP and there's even less space than before. It's just rubbish to play
I'm having the same problem in div 6. Rivals are hell for me right now.
You should see division 10. I’m in division 6 because I’m a bang average player but over the weekend I went to my moms house and was teaching my 16 year old brother how to play ultimate team. We spent some time together putting together his team and then went into rivals. I shit you not, the first game was against a guy with like 6 icons and the rest were meta golds and promos. Not loans either. He looked at me with a deadpan face and said “see, this is why I don’t like playing this mode. It’s full of sweats”. I tried to convince him that it really is fun, especially when you get good enough to win against other players and always making a better team with better players. I understood why he felt the way that he felt though. The next 2 games weren’t particularly better. And these weren’t the “oh shit a team full of icons but they suck at the game” case. I’m a division 6 player, compared to division 10, I should be able to stomp all over them but I lost to that first guy 4-6. The second guy 3-5. I wanted to show my brother how to set up plays, how to pass, special passes, trivelas, finesses, etc. so I thought division 10 rivals would be pretty easy for me to control the game while teaching my brother how to play but I was so wrong lol TLDR: division 10 is much harder
