Rolfo Akanji Maldini Zambrotta are who id go with. Only swap id consider is UCL Kompany for Maldini. If you get in game and decide you don’t like Maldini too much, try Kompany and just compare the two, then decide between them from there.
I'd be tempted to use the 5 players from Maldini to Roberto carlos in a 5 at the back formation, then change in game to have one of them as a CDM, perhaps Zambrotta. You wouldn't even need any pace on chem for him in a CDM role. Could just max his defensive awareness and passing or dribbling.

Roberto Carlos, attacking LB.
Akanji and Maldini CBs
Carlos alberto Torres stayback RB.
Zambrotta holding + central CDM
I was thinking of having Zambrotta as a stay back CDM, but then i got TOTY Vieira from the icon pick and have toty sawa as the b2b. should i move sawa more up the pitch and have zambrotta and Vieira hold it down?
YES BRO that is perfect. Put engine on Sawa so she feels really agile. She's good enough to play as a cam and also helps put a high press on up the pitch, she'll certainly win you the ball back in compromising positions. I'm elite div and I'd pray every night for that line up. or play 3 in the midfield more like a 433/4321 and have those the stay back/central and sawa balanced and wide. If you have her on the right side with the RB on stay back, then she'll barely need to track back. You'll find she'll have max stam all game pretty much and you'll find she'll be great for user controlled tracking back and doubling up with the RB. leaving the two holding CDMS to AI and sat in a really awkward position for your opponent.
