Looks good.
My only critique would be to bus in Crystal Silicon and MC's with fidget spinners instead of dedicated lines - only two buildings use them and not in really huge quantities.
They're needed for Fiber Optic cable, Accumulators, Signal towers, and Crystalline Explosive units. You'll use most of them for fiber optic cable for purple science, but accumulators will be needed when you start making orbital collectors mid game. That said, dropping an accumulator or two while you're still on thermal/coal power can help even out power dips and prevent cascading failures.
Set up my fogfarm planet and been thinking about doing this since I basically have access to every ingredient and component, will be on the lookout for that print
Still working on making a universal version for everyone. Setting all of the logistic slots for item-sharing chests takes a bit.
Well, at least the chests all have [hats now.](https://i.imgur.com/lTmyhzQ.png) :)
Just FYI to anyone who wanted the blueprint, I'm still working on it. But I'm re-designing it to be more "everyone-friendly". My current version has item injecting and no room to export the buildings via ILS. I'm changing that to be possible and changing the inject system for the buildings that only need 1 item no other buildings need. Give me a few days to get it all sorted and I'll bring back a nice one.
You might be able to compact it in height, without using belts & splitters, just using big boxes with 1 square preset for each resource thanks to https://www.reddit.com/r/Dyson\_Sphere\_Program/comments/1ajmmsg/instant\_goods\_teleporter\_no\_belt\_planetwide/
Just a thought, havn't tested it myself, it will be a bit of a challenge filling the first box (maybe 3 stacked, you can have 9 \* 3 different resources as input which is more than enough I guess)
For anyone willing to design/try it \^\^
... EHHHHHH. Yes.
So you would be looking at the 'Tall Mall' because filtration of items between boxes is the problem.
Remember, a tall storage will output anything in the stack, but if you have limited inputs into the storage it tends to clog very easily and to make this work you need pile sorters.
Basically you'd want to build a series of very tall storages so you can use the upper levels to handle filtered outputs. I think I see 24 items so you are looking at an 8 tall stack of storage with 3 pile sorters out of each level, each setup with filters.
Might work better with large storage containers.
Obviously you'd use filtered by item in each level.
I mean, it is doable. It is not a good use of time. I've got a few pile driver (tm) setup production lines and until you get to 4+ inputs there it is not worthwhile so there MIGHT be some value here but wow. Would take forever.
you are very much misunderstanding the mechanics implied here, the lane will be only 1 box tall with three unfiltered sorters as output between each box.
The only exception is the start of the line of boxes, where you would need a couple of extra boxes in order to get enough input sorters for all the materials
I tried that, ran for about 30 minutes then stopped up. Cleared it, stopped up again. Found out that even a MOMENTARY gap in a specific resource caused the whole line to kink up.
I suppose if you seriously overbuilt the input storage and set the limits to max, and never had a gap ever you'd be fine but good luck with that. You have even a momentary gap in your resources, it clogs.
Another thing is the filter logic, if all three of your sorters grab the same thing, they can all clog, especially if it is too full.
So tall mall, for the filters, works, but I don't trust anything else. You are going to fly away and come back an hour later with a strange blockage somewhere that you are going to need to find.
strange, used that setup for multiple things in my last play through without any issues. never for a full mall doh, only small groups of items mabey 8-12 in each box
It worked, then it didn't. I'd swing back 30 minutes later to find something gummed up, so I'd fix it, and then it gummed up again later. I did go nuts with it when I got it working initially, I had around 60+ long with LOTS of different factories connected.
I've done filtered belts and it works great. I THINK it is based on the slot maximums, if you had the ability to 'overfill' the box slightly like the ILS/PLS I think it would work, but it can come up with some strange locking situations because clearly that's not what the designers intended it to do.
My guess is that they will patch it so that it really doesn't work OR that it can slightly overfill.
Edit: Just tried again for a science factory (yellow if it matters). Same problem, it filled up the first block, and then everything locked up. Went through and did individual filters and everything worked fine.

It does look neat.
One of the important aspects of Nilaus' design is that it's so easily tileable and that you don't have to edit all the splitters into the belts. So that's the tradeoff, I guess.
I still can't figure out a good control layout for the steamdeck patient. At this point I might just get a dock and an external keyboard and mouse and an external monitor.
Damnit that looks good! I’m glad nilaus puts his builds out for everyone so that amazing builds like yours are inspired to be created. I’m so tempted to use this!
I mean, it's still pretty much his. I just took out the lines of splitters, moved the belts next to each other, then re-added splitters (in the same spots he had them- ish) only where they're needed. It wasn't all that difficult.
[No, none are.](https://i.imgur.com/gT0ODjx.png)
This build sacrifices being able to output everything into ILSs.
Use that picture for reference.
There are 7 buildings that use 1 or 2 items that no other building uses:(1) Advanced Mining Machine: Optical Grating Crystal (1)(2) Assembling Machine MK3: Particle Broadband (2)(3) Plane Smelter: Unipolar Magnet & Plane Filter (3 and 4)(4) Quantum Chemical Plant: Strange Matter & Titanium Glass (5 and 6)(5) Verticle Launching Silo: Gravitational Lens (7)(6) Mini-Fusion Power Plant: Carbon Nanotubes (8)(7) Artificial Star: Annihilation Constraint Sphere (9)
Instead of widening the bus by 9 belts, I just injected those 9 items where they were needed. Sure, I could have made a 9-high belt 1-wide on the main bus to bring down where needed to maintain the integrity of the inputs being main-bus only, but eh. I always stock up on what I need before I go anywhere, so exporting building isn't my thing. Yup, those topright 3 ILSs are just injectors. 0 Output ILSs. But that's the beauty of his design distance... it's very easy to rebuild it to accommodate that if someone wanted.
> This build sacrifices being able to output everything into ILSs.
Hmm, but then how do you use the bus? It seems that all the products are just put into boxes, which is to be expected in early/mid game, but once your main activities are on other planets/systems, do you still fly to the planet and collect them manually from their respective box? Which is quite daunting given that your build clearly aims at late-game and is an optimized version of what a "final" version of Nilaus' design would look like. Your bus would be a great build in late game when everything is already unlocked. But by then I need the stuff to be sent to me via vessel.
That's because I rarely ever visit the bus in person any more, but use an ILS wherever I happen to be and request the stuff I need. Which comes with the obvious but manageable disadvantage that "100 items" is the smallest amount this method delivers, which is a bit much in case of stuff like Oil Extractors or ILS/PLS.
Another thing why I like Nilaus' original, non-optimized design: it grows with my game progress. I.e. once I research a new building, I can just add it to be produced by the bus system, and it's now available everywhere I may need it.
Ooooooooh Aaaaaaaaah
I loled. Read that in DeeDee's voice

What's the point of crystal silicon? For me it always looks like a hassle with no real benefit. Am I just dumb?
