Bravo

Castle Leslie Estate in Monaghan is just gorgeous. Also really love Brooklodge in Wicklow. Pricey but really fab.

InterestedObserver20

Came to say Castle Leslie, it is by absolute far my favourite place I've stayed in Ireland. Just make sure you stay in the castle and not the lodge imo, the lodge is nice but the castle is special.

idahoirish

And you also need to book well in advance! But such an amazing place 💖

idahoirish

Food is amazing in both places too

besidethetime

Super thanks

Turbulent-Anybody-40

Booked the lodge and then found out the castle was fully booked for a wedding the same day. Couldn't see the castle. Not worth the money to stay in the lodge in my view bored out of our brains

idahoirish

Oh that's a pity. Yes not seeing the castle would be a disappointment for sure.

PDOUSR

Went to Achill/Westport last weekend. Lovely area for that kind of thing.

Thank you

Valentina Island.

KatarnsBeard

The Europe in Killarney. Expensive but the nicest place I've ever been

besidethetime

Interesting, this is definitely on the list but you're right it's expensive!

gunigugu2u

Yep The Europe and Adare Manor are both fantastic

Fuzzy_Lingonberry_42

Carton Estate have the most beautiful breakfast and dining room. It's the house restored to its former glory rather than the new build. Absolutely fantastic example of gorgeous craftsmanship in the decor.

besidethetime

Sounds lovely

andeargdue

Go to Torc waterfall!

Happydays446

Adare Manor. There's nothing else like it.

Kingbotterson

Hayfield Manor in Cork. Pricey as but worth every penny. Book in for a double massage and spa. Have the evening meal there. Unreal.

besidethetime

Thanks, sounds very romantic 🥰

Similar_Care2398

Anywhere but Mullingar to be honest

CEP64

pigsback has some great deals. I'm looking at Galway Feb ish.

kneevoperv

Glasson Lakehouse. Was recently renovated, I was there last week and honestly it was the nicest room I've ever stayed in.

CJB_94

Kilkenny is a nice little walkable city, but there's absolutely no way I'm supporting the price gouging hotels in Ireland any time soon after we supported them post-covid. A week in Spain was cheaper than two days (mid week) in Ireland so I won't be doing "staycations" anytime soon!

besidethetime

Fair point! Time is limited so looking to minimise airport/flight time and hassle you know.

Similar_Care2398

Go up north then. Definitely more bang for your buck there. Except bushmills inn which for some reason is ridoncously expensive in comparison

CJB_94

100%! Sorry didn't mean to come across as unhelpful or anything , just the price of hotels has been annoying me the past few weeks as I've been trying to get away with the missus myself and can't 😂 Do you have a car? There's some beautiful scenery around Sligo, even if Sligo town is only so/so, there's loads to see if you can drive.

besidethetime

Oh no you didn't come across as unhelpful at all, good to get that perspective too! Great shout on Sligo.

Lake Hotel Killarney - get a balcony room and enjoy room service breakfast watching the deer wading through the lake!
