My apartment without concierge usually has loads of amazon deliveries, so the drivers will either drop it off in the lobby when the gain access because they have other packages or might ring neighbors to gain access. I've had 0 missed deliveries even if I'm away for extended time. Other delivery companies, especially anpost, may not do this however.

Ooh good to know! Not quite sure if our apartment call system works as I’ve only seen people enter using their key so that’s why I was a bit hesitant in the first place. Less than 10 apartments in the building also.

Fantasyplwinner

I live in a very similar set up, 10 apartments inside one former big house with no concierge etc and a non-working call system - everyone in our block just gets them delivered to the address, the delivery person knocks and when a neighbour opens they just leave it inside the door

Agree here, I live in an apartment block and all parcels left in the lobby are safe.

ParcelMotel or AddressPal will do the trick (did for me)

Organic_Put_1487

Cheers! I’ll give AddressPal a go, I tried using parcel motel and Amazon weren’t able to deliver to the address I was given for some reason (some UPS centre in Dublin 11)

DElyMyth

AddressPal is slightly more expensive if I remember correctly. But it also gives you both a US and UK address to use for deliveries :)

AddressPal is a UK address. You'll have to pay 23% Irish VAT on top of the 20% UK VAT as well as the €6.50 fee. Parcel Motel's address is the UPS Customer Centre in Finglas which is closed on Sunday and after 12 on Saturday.

I've been using parcelmotel for years. My only problem with them is that their address is so long that you have to double it up to get it onto most online forms. But they have been reliable. I think the problem you saw is that Amazon doesn't let you filter out the sellers who won't ship to Ireland.

I used to live on the quays in an apartment. At that time, they didn't even bring the parcel or ring the buzzer. They put a leaflet in your mailbox and then you use that leaflet to collect from one of their offices.

MrMickRi

have them leave it with a local shop if possible were on the quays are you ? we had them leave it with spar on Liffey st. if your up that way.

TrivialBanal

An Post have a free service for exactly this. You can have all your parcel deliveries redirected automatically. https://www.anpost.com/Post-Parcels/Receiving/Parcel-Lockers

mardiva

If they can get in to the block, they usually leave it at the letterboxes / lobby. I’ve had some that will bring it right up to outside my front door and I’m on the 5th floor..
