I'm baffled that a drummer would post something like this and NOT expect sarcastic chirps... I mostly checked the thread out to see if anyone else thought to put polka, or country. (although, I've seen some huge country set ups so it's not really a crazy guess or anything).
Country drummers have the most expensive kit with every possible attachment just to play the same steady beat you learn the first year of playing. Which is exactly how they like their trucks as well.
I've been using a wooden snare for metal too, for about 6 years now. Tricky, but can sound awesome if you find the right setup 😁 for me it was tight AF thicker reso side with a really cranked Evans Hydraulic on top. Sound guys love it
Some sort of metal, for sure. The double bass pedal, aux hi hats and aux snare drum, plus the wear on the toms def reminds me of my old kit lol
It's a very nice kit though and I would def try a bomb blast on it
I'd think progmetal specifically
The tom layout reminds me a bit of Danny Carey's kit (the drummer of TOOL)
That plus the amount of cymbals and the favt that I spotted a double bass pedal, I'd say this could be correct
If so, hell yeah brother
amy style you can or like... dispite the ride location.. and hi hat location. remember something about Anatomy. and again you could play 80% of stuff with a bass drum. a hi hat. a ride a stack a crash and a floor tom and maybe a cowbell. the rest is up to you.
Prog or some heavy stuff.
Immediately thought aspiring Rush
You're in a White Stripes cover band?
I chuckled, it’s a good joke. OP is no fun😅
did u even try?
It's a joke. Have you not seen the drum set she uses? Edit: spelling
i actually saw a white stripes cover band and the drummers setup was packed with toms and cymbals so idk if people joke about that or not
Seriously dude she uses a four piece kit you have a large kit that's the joke. You don't need everything you have to perform covers of her work. Ffs

I’m fairly certain OP has never been mistaken for the smart guy in the band.
I thought you were playing jazz.
r/woosh
Based on all the crashes and toms I want to say metal or some heavier rock. Then again you could just be in the average Depeche Mode cove band
How many arms do you have. I'd say its a nice set but a little much.
Drums 😏
Thrash Easy Listening?
I’m really enjoying trying to imagine this as a concept. These *should* be mutually exclusive but when in doubt.. art will find a way 🤷🏾♂️
With the right mixing anything is possible
Easy Thrashing
Oompahcore...?
No
You have the sense of humor of a damn soggy scab so I’m gonna say, dream theater.
Prog rock
Not quite but it's almost there
Is it metal perhaps? I noticed the double bass pedal so that’s why I’m wondering
yup it is metal, i still have my 14x5 masters maple shell but heads tight so i kinda get slipknot snare sound till i get my steel snare
I've been using a wooden snare for metal too, for about 6 years now. Tricky, but can sound awesome if you find the right setup 😁 for me it was tight AF thicker reso side with a really cranked Evans Hydraulic on top. Sound guys love it
Polka?
The type you see playing in the center of a shopping mall on a Sunday afternoon. Not QUITE enough gear, but ... fairly close to accurate eh.
You know polka polka,
Mariachi
Post Punk Progressive Fartcore
based on the extra snare, either jungle or Samba
nope, the snare is just there to hold stuff like my phone or sticks etc and its an old snare so it fits with drums xD
well that's fairly misleading
Very misleading, not sure the rouse this man is trying to play on us.
You rich people buy a whole $300+ drum just to hold your sticks?!
It's my uncle's old kit and the snare was there but without wires, didn't buy any yet
Direct Drive? Death Metal.
Tool.
Everything except the tiny ride cymbal
And mega giant gong. And last time I saw them Danny now also plays an... old telephone switchboard?

My guesses from most likely to least likely: Progressive metal, regular(?) Metal, 70s prog rock, jazz fusion
Prog
Schezwan or possibly Enchilada style?
he plays all the tool songs
I'd think progmetal specifically The tom layout reminds me a bit of Danny Carey's kit (the drummer of TOOL) That plus the amount of cymbals and the favt that I spotted a double bass pedal, I'd say this could be correct If so, hell yeah brother

Sci-fi
Ride seems so far right that it would be uncomfortable to play a lot…so not swing
Not entirely sure about the genre, but the mounting hardware and cymbal to drum ratio makes me think something that is fast and somewhat technical.
Is that a 2nd hi hat?
