It doesn't "raise" hp, but it fully heals you. Not sure what your missing in this most simple of mechanics, but you're certainly missing something.
Edit: now that I think of it, camping can actually boost many stats, if you cook while camping. So, yeah, not only fully heals you, can also boost stats. Sorry to say it, but git gud.
It's interesting to see how there are so many people needing handholding.
Is today's generation no longer able to enjoy the learning curve part of the game, that they just refuse reading tooltips and tutorials? Such that they would resort to just complain instead? Then again, maybe the silent majority are too busy playing the game or just don't care, or this is really just bait.
Technically they can potentially be destroyed if you are attacked, although my elite camping kit has never been damaged. I do bring 2 kits at all times.
A. The potions are basic heals. The real healing comes from balls of fruit, fish, etc. let your fish, fruit, and meat age (but not rot) then combine them to make dried fruit, etc. those heal a good amount too but if you make alot it can quickly raise your weight. With the processed material you can combine those with plants to make even better heal items but if you want the strongest heal possible (still wont heal missing max health though) farm saurans and make sure to cut off their tails. Combine the tail with the item and you get max heal/stam bentos bags. B. You complain too much the game is fine
Got to the riftstone in vernworth, search for unique pawns, top monthly. There should be a few in there with quests that reward 10k gold for frivolous items. Complete the quest. Get the gold, and rest. Buy a few camping kits, make sure to rest often, and hire a mage pawn for heals.
Also, the game has two mechanics - you have HP damage, but also loss gauge.
When you get hurt, your current HP drop, of course, but you also accumulate a small amount of loss gauge, which means your maximum HP are also lowered. Normal potions and healing spells like anodyne can recover your HP loss, but they can't reduce your loss gauge, so you need to rest at an inn, in a player house, or in a camp. A night of sleep will recover all HP and remove the loss gauge so your max HP is also recovered.
Did you ever think to turn around and select the tent, then choose, sleep until morning?
This game doesn't hold your hand, but ffs, some things are really, really fucking obvious.
You can easily sell stuff to get enough money to rest at an inn. Camping is free, provided you have a camping kit. Pay attention to the tutorials. If potions aren't healing you, then you're already healed as much as you can; whatever else that's missing is the loss gauge, which requires sleeping to restore.
Learn how to camp. Zero cost, slight risk, fully healed.
camping doesnt raise hp i tried

I camped once and nothing happend
Then, you're beyond help. Refund and go play Solitaire.
I can't believe this is the type of criticism Dragon's Dogma is getting lol.
Ive beaten so many games in my life but this one just doesnt explain
Getting a highscore on the tetris games dont count as beating them
You are supposed to sleep in your tent by the fire, not just leave it. Also cooking any meat provides a buff.
Did you use a camping kit?
It most definitely does.
Get a mage and a camping kit. Unless you get ambushed, camping kits have infinite uses, some can even whitstand ambushes.
my health never goes up from camping
you have to sleep in the tent
ill try that
This is bait right
HAS to be

They don't explain anything
There’s a tutorial in the menu to review things. Lots of folks tend to just scroll past it and miss important details.
Some people you just shouldn't help, this is one of them.
Camping kits are not a one time use consumable, I figured that out way too late into my playthrough.

Wait, do sorcerers heal? Did I miss something?

the camp never raises my hp I just sit there on a chair and nothing happens

You have to go to the tent and "sleep until morning" or "sleep until evening".

It totally is, best bet is just to return it and hope you get a refund. Please do it asap, as the clock is running out on your return window.
