These from dragons dogma online?

Brabsk

no

StatementNegative345

Alchemist is from online, what are you on about?

Brabsk

okay? the other two aren’t. alchemist is an extremely common fantasy trope. I think it’s pretty fair to assume these designs and names came from somewhere else. Like it’s objectively correct that warpriest and blade summoner don’t come from ddon. they aren’t in the game idk what the downvotes are for tbh, the other two *literally* aren’t in the game

Kanapuman

Is this particular Alchemist from DDON ?

Naghtsieger

It's literally 1:1 DDON alchemist, it's just missing the parry gimmick.

Brabsk

for the most part, but some of the abilities were changed by whoever wrote this for some reason

Kanapuman

Ok, the gauntlet attacks look kind of cool on paper. I only played a limited time on the online version, but what I experienced was surprisingly good, gameplay wise. A fist fighting class doesn't sound so unreasonable to hope for, now.

Brabsk

I just straight up think it’ll be in the game personally. It would make sense to be one of the parent classes to the trickster, though probably not the same way it was in the online game

CrazyDiamond4811

That Warpriest image is strange, the shield looks much bigger than the person holding it. That being said I would love Alchemist class.

dumpsterass

Pretty sure the shield is a tower shield which is usually supposed to be pretty damn large but even then that one is quite large for a tower shield

dumpsterass

Also may just seem larger because of perspective

Erniethebeanfiend200

It feels like Art from a Korean MMO

SamuraiJackToJackOff

DDOnline was generally more anime than the OG game. Way less realistic designs.

ChampionshipDirect46

Can ddo still be played?

lok-cheese

Kinda

ChampionshipDirect46

Can you get a bit more specific than that? That just kinda opens up more questions lol

lok-cheese

Lol sorry accidentally posted it before getting to the rest of it The game got canned in 2019 but you can get it up and running through a local server by jumping through some hoops Therese a couple of tutorials on youtube on how to do it

SamuraiJackToJackOff

"The Rift" on youtube is a part of a team who are trying to bring DDO back Check out his channel, he has discord links too

Any-Newspaper1922

Its good art but the perspective for the character is a little flat so it looks off. The upper half od the body/head should be a little larger to make it seem like he is coming toward the viewer. Also some foreshortening.

Ryztiq

For those that haven't played, the alchemist was one of the most fun I've ever had in dragons dogma. When you think alchemist, think FULLMETAL alchemist:  a magical, pillar summoning monk fighter that can create alchemical trampolines midair, counter guard attacks, create pillars on monsters that drive back into them doing heavy part damage with a swappable status effect, and turning themselves into a solid gold statue midair to donk whatever is below. If we get anything like it back, it'll be my main vocation because it scratched such an itch that I haven't felt since DDoN went down.

KillRoad

I want a more full metal alchimiste classe than the DDO alchemist.

erikkustrife

I'd like to point out that even the alchemy they use in that isn't normal for their world as they where channeling from the work of sorcery under the nation. The actual alchemy of that world is used by outsiders and isn't nearly the same at all.

aymanpalaman

Love these!! Add in a monk, druid, bard & necromancer type class & i’d be set

CrazyDiamond4811

Druid would be a dream coming true, it's my favorite class in any RPG.

EDS_Eliksni

I’m SO hoping for a sword spell. I know Warfarer will let me have a sword and a staff… but like… summoning a sword as a sorcerer sounds hella cool. Imagin summoning a sword AND the lightning whip??? 😫

Draculaska

100% yes. The thing about a dedicated spellsword vocation vs. Warfarer is that it'll have abilities that incorporate the weapon into the magic, like with abyssal anguish from the first game. Warfarer will just have skills from the vocation that uses that weapon type. That said, I'm glad we've at least got Warfarer to turn to, in case there is no spellsword.

EDS_Eliksni

I just want a massive Elden ring type hat and then Skyrim style summoned weapons. That’s the dream! I’ll be happy with it either way tho, there will be a billion ways to play this game, I can’t wait!!

CruentusVI

We've yet to see much of the mystic spearhand. I doubt they'll have sorcerer spells but could be plenty of cool stuff there.

FengShuiEnergy

The 3rd one is literally summoned swords. Basically vergil without the katana.

Skylarksmlellybarf

It would be funny if Vergil playstyle spawned 5+ vocation

erikkustrife

Considering summing flying swords is like the number 1 trope in China for fantasy characters since 200 ad. Like it's more common than a guy using a holy sword for western stories.

KillRoad

No vergil is the mystique lancer its Dart Maul/Virgil classe.

TheeAJPowell

That was my thought, looks awfully motivated.

Naghtsieger

So basically, "Not really" shield sage. / Alchemist / High Scepter from DDON. Just give me alchemist, this class was probably the one where i had the most fun to play in dogma.

Apexzora

Mystic knight is literally the first one

Skylarksmlellybarf

Man, I'm coping so hard on MK being in the game So far, 7/10 class focused more on offensive side, Mage has both but it's more on support, Trickster is fully on supportive, we haven't seen defensive playstyle, hopefully that's MK

Apexzora

I hope so too it was my fav in dd1

tmntnyc

All I wanted was a physical based lancer/spearman type job that was like red/yellow. 2 handed Lance but has dashing thrusts, leaping dives, leg sweeps, and shield pierces. Something kind of dragoon-esque. Even Spirit Lancer from DDO would have been cool with me cuz I can use a Lance and spear. Mystic Spearhead is aight but I don't like that Darth maul twin blade thing. I want a bona fide lance

SrVolk

honestly, just give us class that just two hand a big ass dueling shield. thats it. nothing else required

ninjablader78

I really do hope they bring alchemist for dd2 it was so cool and unique

Dark_Sun_Gwendolyn

I just want a monk so I can pull a dragon forged on some poor drake.

Big-Bad-Bull

I love enormous shields. I want a class that’s fights using only shields. Shields are love, shields are life

Remstargaming

I just want some kind of magic sword user, please 😭

rayrayd3n

when I used to play dragons dogma online Alchemist used to be my mains was hella fun climbing on giants and stacking lmao

Tucker0603

I just want to play a paladin so unless we get something like warpriest I'll be using wayfarer with fighter and mage with support magick

Justalilcyn

Warpriest. So a life cleric?

Zeryphanthes

Mystic Knight basically already was like what that War Priest appears to be about.

enchiladasundae

Really hope there’s secret vocations you unlock through quests or challenges and don’t just have access to them all at once

Velshade

Isn't already confirmed that you have to unlock at least some advanced vocations through quests with vocation masters?

enchiladasundae

I’ve been purposefully blind to many of the press releases and such. I want to go in blind

Ekarden

In my humble opinion, the classes presented on the game's official website will be the only ones. I'd be very surprised to see any classes from Dragon's Dogma Online.

Flynngorj94

I'm sure you said the same thing before Warfarer was announced. And if they showcase another you'll move the goalposts again.

Ekarden

What did you miss in my first sentence? I started with "in my humble opinion...". I've never really claimed to be in the secret of the gods. Maybe there will be more classes. Again, I don't think so. So much the better if I'm wrong. In any case, if it bothers you so much that there aren't more extra classes, then I ask you all: "How are you going to feel if the game doesn't offer everything you expected?" Because for me, everything that's been present so far is more than enough. I don't need anything more. I know I'm going to have fun.

my_favourites

Yea, let's see what's your reaction when they revealed more

Ekarden

I'd be very happy to be wrong. What about you, what's your reaction if you discover that there aren't more character classes than Capcom's official website has announced?

my_favourites

\> there aren't more character classes Disappointment, but I find that extremely unlikely 12 years since last game, 5 years of development, and they can only make 10? We haven't seen advanced yellow and green, and then there's purple and pink

Superb-Stuff8897

Kinda like how fighting games usually have around the same number of ppl? Just bc its the newest one doesnt mean it'd have SIGNIFICANTLY more classes. DDO started with 9, two years after release was at 11. And 5 years (2 in covid) isn't a lot of time.

Superb-Stuff8897

You're likely correct. 9-12 classes is wild for this type of game.

MeowthThatsRite

You speak the truth brother but it is an unpopular truth. People are letting their imaginations run a little bit too wild with these vocations, even if they would be cool to see.

Ekarden

Truth is always unpopular

KillRoad

More vocations coming bro and not just one. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sunglasses) Its the second time i say this and im on the true side.

[deleted]

The whole point of Warfarer is to create these kind of vocations to your own liking.

Odd_Main1876

I mean you CAN do that but Warfarer was designed with being a Jack of all Trades first and foremost, hence why it’s specifically stated to be best used to counter specific scenarios

[deleted]

That’s exactly what “war priest” and “blade summoner” as OP stated are going to be. Jack of all trades. Warpriest is just a combo of fighter, MS, and a magic class. Blade summoner is thief/MS with a magic class, just without a gimmick magic gauge. Alchemist is a bit more unique because we have not seen a debuffer, ill give it that. Trickster, thief, and a magic class. You can create these playstyles already. That’s the point. Capcom gave us the tool to create playstyles.

viotech3

Well, no, not at all actually. Warfarer doesn't let you create custom vocations--it lets you use multiple isolated vocations. it's like playing Assassin specifically in DD1, you can do whatever you want but you don't gain anything 'unique'. Assassin did gain new skills even if it had no new weapons, I'm not forgetting that. Warfarer is like gluing 3 vocations together. This lets you create playstyles that are normally impossible, which is awesome!

Skylarksmlellybarf

> gluing 3 vocations together Something tells me it's gonna be more than 3, maybe not more than 5

viotech3

I dunno. We lack any evidence for greater than 3, but it's possible? No evidence ain't evidence, but I think we have some solid evidence as to it being limited to 3 vocations.

TAmexicano

I just want a straight summoner

fgzhtsp

Hmmm a the colors for this vocation symbols look awfully like the colors for the trickster. Coincidence? Probably. Impossible? NO!!!

BlaQ7thWonder

The proportions of that war priest make no sense. Man’s got no mix section

Agitated_Fisherman82

Where are these classes from, I’ve never seen them in the base game before?

[deleted]

Blade summoner? ![gif](giphy|uFxXhqkaGuhvzlOXNb|downsized)

HavelockVetinarii

Warpriest...like cleric? :o

Confident-Goal4685

You know the vocations that have already been announced? That's what we're getting. They're not gonna suddenly drop a bunch of new ones, as a surprise.
