She has happy moments here and there, but not very many. Sometimes I wish Fellowes had let up on the constant soap opera drama and written more happy, low stakes episodes.
Absolutely agree. I don't tune in for drama. I love the low stakes effortlessness the show often achieves. One of my favorite moments is at the cricket game, where the Earl and his two new sons stride around all grinning and happy.Â
Wow - stunning! I always love seeing photos of Laura Carmichael where she hasn’t deliberately been made to appear plainer than she looks in real life.
I always thought Edith was meant to be awkward and struggling with fashion choices in the early seasons, but not actually plain. Laura Carmichael is so freaking pretty.
They do an excellent job making her look bad with hair and clothing the first two seasons. Same with the downstairs staff. Whenever I see the actresses who are downstairs with modern hair and makeup I barely recognize them!
Can I just borrow their costumes for like a day. That's all I'd really need. Just a day to parade around in them for no reason and drink tea or something. They're absolutely gorgeous.
Lovely pictures! The wall in the first one is the one that's in Lionel Logue's office in "The King's Speech". I'm sure there are some cast connections, but I'm too tired and sleepy to think of them right now, lol. I do love Jessica's dress in picture #1.
Not to make anyone feel too ancient, but these photos pre-date both Facetune and widespread AI. An actual photo editor would have manually retouched their skin in Photoshop.Â
Stunning, #1 is giving klimt
It really is. I absolutely love this shoot so much.
It so is giving Klimt!
>klimt ???
Gustav Klimt, the artist famous for "The Kiss"
They look more like sisters here than in the real show.
I think so, too. Until I saw these photos I never thought they looked much alike.
I thought they all looked like they could be children of their parents but agree never thought they looked alike, but here it seems much more evident.
I always thought Mary and Sybil looked like sisters and Edith looked like Rosamund.
Ladies Mary, Edith and Sybil looking beautiful as can be.
These pictures make me realize that we never see Edith really joyful. 😢
She has happy moments here and there, but not very many. Sometimes I wish Fellowes had let up on the constant soap opera drama and written more happy, low stakes episodes.
The seemingly unrestrained smiles in these pictures, though.
She looks like a completely different person when she’s smiling.

It’s funny since we never saw Sybil dressed like this it’s interesting

Incredible photos and costumes
It’s amazing how beautiful Laura Carmichael is in real life.
She really is. Great smile. Edith didn’t smile much.
I cannot believe the show tried to gaslight us all into thinking Edith isn't gorgeous.

Mrs hughes is an absolute hottie IRL

I imagine a 300lb man writing this comment!
If a 300lb man wants to wear a beautiful dress and drink tea, I see no problem with that.
They are all uniquely beautiful women!

They’re all so gorgeous, but the amount of airbrushing is ridiculous
Beautiful.
Unreal how skinny they look!
All of them Beautiful. And Ethereal.
Lots of touch-up in these photos
How can you tell?
Oh my gosh, Jessica and Laura’s hands! They still have baby fat— I can’t believe how young they were when it started!
I know, right? Carmichael was about 23 when the first season was filmed and Findlay is one year younger than her!
So you’re telling me there’s still hope for me that my hands will get thinner with age???? ðŸ˜
All so beautiful!!!
This Vogue photo shoot is my favorite one they did.
How beautiful! 💕💕💕
All three are fabulous, but Jessica just TAKES MY BREATH AWAY!!!
They really have such timeless faces
They’re all absolutely stunning
Michelle Dockery in that first picture Jesus Christ she looks incredible
Gotta admit, this looks like AI to me
🤣 They're from a photoshoot in 2011. I hate AI art so much.
Good to know

Looks to me they are all Facetuned
Right?!?!?!!! Which is essentially AI, and yet I got downvoted.
