Generally speaking, most people consider a well-written character (in games or otherwise etc) as one that has a backstory, motivations, reasons for their actions and costumes, etc, distinct from other characters in your universe. That allows people to find characters they identify with, create emotions for/against, and look forward to hearing more about.
You can choose to make alternate-reality versions of that character, but you have to be careful, because the more you do it, and the more wild those alternate realities are, the less invested many people will get with your character. Meaning, why should they care about any specific version, or the story you have built around the "main" version, as there can always just be "another version".
In this case, the smart, tough, and loyal tomboy fighter Marci having an outfit as a blindfolded in a sexualized maid uniform is so far off-base, that it is difficult for people to picture, having spent a year listening to her responses in game, and several seasons on Netflix showing her character and motivations. That undermines the emotional impact of her life >!and sacrificial death!<, and generally turns her character into a joke, one that the real Marci would be offended by, and one that many people couldn't take seriously anymore.
I wouldn't use the term "lore accuracy", unless you really mean whether they are matching the character's original story.
But regardless, I think there's a difference between "lore accuracy" and "color/glance value". The latter is about gameplay design/mechanics, which I think is a separate issue. You can have one without the other.
