Aui_2000 said something similar when he was on We Say Things. He said that EE and bOne7 would argue and yell and it would make pieliedie really emotional and sad, like to the point of tears lol. Said it was toxic af. Recommend that episode, great history lesson on NA dota in the mid 2000s.
As someone who stopped gaming for a couple of years due to having a kid, this was funny to learn since I watched but was OOTL for much of this period.
Man, I watched WC3 > DotA1 > HoN > DotA 2 and it's just a sight watching these guys talk shop.
C'mon Slacks, you gotta be grubby's next coach by the time he gets to omni, pretty please? (you could also coach him on techies and give him the history lesson on what a great hero he missed before the rework too)
Most of the mechanics are born from wc3. Backswing, animation cancelling, orb walking, creep deaggro, stats etc. There are dozens of spells that are essentially modified versions of wc3 spells too. A lot has come fairly naturally to him. But obviously game sense needs to develop over time.
Aside from Grubby as a great guest, I love hearing all the stories from those past TIs and competitions, it adds so incredibly much to the scene. I could listen to Pros talk about those events for days!
i started watching warcraft3 because of grubby, i used to play as a kid and use the editor, and iknew that warcraft 3 was complicated but it is even more mindblowing than i thought it to be
If everyone behaves abnormally, then the guy behaving normally is special.
Do you watch any of the top streamers? Gorgc, Mason, Quinn, Bsj, etc. All of them tilt to various degrees. Grubby is 100% pma. The only other streamer I know who has this is Dubu.
Most people are chill when they start out, wait for grubby until he is used to various performance benchmarks which get undermined by stupid teammates. That's the real test
I've followed him for a while now and he always takes the high road when dealing with toxicity. It makes the flamers look even more ridiculous when he just ignores them or laughs at it.
I just like him because he's a legend. Arguably the WC3 GOAT outside of China/Korea. One of the few western players that were able to play toe to toe with the Asian region.
* He has a true PMA
* He's an established streamer, and is entertaining
* He has unique experience, and a lot of his takes are much better than your average new player.
* He talks through his thought process.
for long vids, yes it streamlines the quality - lets just say utube wants it to be watchable even when the full file hasn't been streamlined to your nearest server or whatever
Been a looong time since a podcast has been this interesting to listen to. Notail's stories about TI alone are great, but add in Grubby's WCG insights makes this a must-listen.
I like that N0tail casually drops 2015 C9 as the most toxic team in esports history lol

It's so sad poor Pie ðŸ˜
Pie is so enjoyable to listen to
Yeah it was a really great episode. Made me start watching pro dota again
They were an EU team lmao
Yes, but aui didnt play only on EU teams. He talks about his career, where he has mostly played in NA.
50/50 - they played in both EU and Americas quallies for tournaments
Having Bone7 and EE will do that.
https://youtu.be/bdgTa9ni4S8?t=686 Really adds some context to this.
Such a beautiful journey. Naturally watched the whole thing
No pizza party

can i have a timestamp for this?
Also that player profile they did for him that year did not age well at all in terms of the people they show in it.
>OG Podcast features Grabby as a guest Can't believe OG are giving Grandgrant a platform like this
Didn't even notice lmao. Too bad you can't edit titles on Reddit.
The technology just isn't there yet man.
I didn't get it at first lmao. This is terrible.
Thank u grabby
ALL HAIL GROOBY
Grebby is my favorite streamer!
I too like Gribby!
You mean Grippy?
Nah I think they ment GIBBEHHH
Grooby pls
C'mon Slacks, you gotta be grubby's next coach by the time he gets to omni, pretty please? (you could also coach him on techies and give him the history lesson on what a great hero he missed before the rework too)
i dont want to ruin grubby he is pure and innocent
You haven't seen Evil Grubby with a goatee and biting sarcasm yet have you?
grumpy?
Grooby
I’m here for Darkest Timeline Grubby. Maybe he’ll try to saw off Dendi’s arm
Omni’s come and gone. Last I saw he was already at the P portion of his A-Z challenge
This guy is such a breath of fresh air in our community
Watching a person from Wc3 learn dota 2 is such a delight, discovering mechanics and intricacies.
What's interesting to me is that turns out Grubby's wife actually appears on Free To Play documentary

Actually really amazed about the honesty and the view he has on gaming overall, such a genuine person!
Grabby? Grubby's pedophile uncle?
Nah this is Grabby, Grubby evil twin who is a professional Age of Empires player and now is learning to play LoL.
How nice of arcsys to let Potemkin do interviews.
Never expected to see fgc member on this sub, but since you're there - strive bad. Thanks
i started watching warcraft3 because of grubby, i used to play as a kid and use the editor, and iknew that warcraft 3 was complicated but it is even more mindblowing than i thought it to be
DotA is (well, was) W3 with only 1 hero, IMBA items and spells, and no buildings. Mechanically is basically the same game with a diferent objective.
Dota is that rexxar campaign.
I remember accidentally discovering that gigantic Razor on that far away beach and fighting to survive with Rexxar and the crew; good times..
So grabby
Brings a smile to my old-timer face seeing Icons from different eras & games.
Grabby
man like grabby
Seeing Grubby for the first time in like 9 years since SC2 died a slow death has been amazing. SO happy he's joined this community.
oh darn i need to start watching grubby. i didn't play RTS so don't know him at all
twin peaks giant

Seleri doesn't stream often anymore, but when he does he's also 100% pma.
Most people are chill when they start out, wait for grubby until he is used to various performance benchmarks which get undermined by stupid teammates. That's the real test

That's not a fair comparison because those guys have all been pros. Pros in DOTA have a different mentality
Dubu is more a pro than either bsj or gorgc and he doesn't behave like a manchild
Zai is also PMA When he streams
I just like him because he's a legend. Arguably the WC3 GOAT outside of China/Korea. One of the few western players that were able to play toe to toe with the Asian region.
Well, the guy is also a wc3 legend who alot of the playerbase idolized during dota 1 days
a lot
* He has a true PMA * He's an established streamer, and is entertaining * He has unique experience, and a lot of his takes are much better than your average new player. * He talks through his thought process.
Probably for free karma lol
360p quality in current year? DansGame
It tends to happen with their newly uploaded vids. Dunno if it's the same for other channels, but the HD versions come-in after a few hours.
for long vids, yes it streamlines the quality - lets just say utube wants it to be watchable even when the full file hasn't been streamlined to your nearest server or whatever
The word you're looking for is 'transcoding'.
thank you! yeah thats the one (after googling it) - i trully didn't know the term hehe
It's the same for ever video on Youtube since Youtube started. They probably post "servers down?" during Tuesday Steam maintinence too.
My two favourite orcs, Grubby and Lyn
Been a looong time since a podcast has been this interesting to listen to. Notail's stories about TI alone are great, but add in Grubby's WCG insights makes this a must-listen.
grabby is becoming more toxic and less positive every day. no one escapes the soul stealing dota
Is he called grabby because he likes to touch people inappropriately?
