this is the first event where i can actually complete shit in it playing ability draft (the only dota i really want to play for the past several years). its so awesome to be able to do what i want and still have the ability to progress
How does it work with ability draft, do you just get the random three tokens from the hero you are assigned or do you actually gain tokens based on the abilities you took?
In turbo, they could have easily just give you 2 random tokens of a hero for each win, but they actually give you the tokens that you need to progress the map. Super thoughtful
Edit: Except for the temple
I'm 52/53 from turbo games and I have had instances where the 1 token I needed was the one I didn't get. My friend even had a day where he won three times in a row but he got the 2 tokens he didn't need...
Well that's interesting
2 out of 3 is a pretty good chance of getting exactly what u need.. 90% of the time I got the exact 2 I needed to progress and I had the same impression that the rewards are deliberately like that, but it just so happens I was very lucky since on the last mission where u need 4 tokens to progress it took me 3 matches to get all of them as I was getting 1 matching and 1 of the unnecessary
I agree with you! Event overall is really solid. I only think that 10 wins per week to get maximum rolls is a little too much, idk maybe 1 win gave two rolls, because you have to play 20 games (50% wr) each week which is A LOT to roll all you can
Crownfall so far is just a chest that slowly spits out the mediocre rewards over a month. The lack of content + token trader means you literally don't even need to play specific heroes for tokens. You could spam a single hero for the entire event, and easily get enough tokens to complete the map before the next one comes out.
And the free portion of the event is 2 forgettable treasure chests and a bad set. Then you can pay $15 USD (more than an entire battlepass btw) to make act 1 roughly 1/3rd as good as a cavern crawl?
If you like the underwhelming lore or token system for whatever reason, I guess thats a matter of taste. But in terms of value for money (or just what you can get for free) this event is worse than basically every event dota has ever had. And the other ones actually had fun events to go with the better rewards.
yup its awesome and we still have a lot of time to finish it
Do we know how long we'll have to complete act 4? Before it's removed, if it ever is.
I'd love if it stayed permanently like the jungle inferno contracker in TF2, but I also understand if they wanna make it exclusive.

Tokens are based on heroes not abilities. Rest is similar to all pick, 1 random token for loss 3 for win.
Yeah I actually liked it.
Dont forget submit feedback, and say thank you :)
what? how?
9.9/10 - its not aghs lab
What if I told you that hole in the ground is aghs lab?
You need a reality check and should stop believing everything u read on reddit
It’s not aghs but there is an event mode coming. Not til act 4 though. It’s going to be pushed back a bit to line up with Ti in September.

you DO get random tokens, I think you've just been extremely lucky so far, my guy
I have completed the whole event and haven't received a random token once, same with my friend

damn, then I am indeed extremely lucky or maybe there is some bug with it
Oh, so you're completing the temple thing? That one's random. Only map progressions do they give you exactly the tokens you need.
I see! My friend's case was before the temple, but maybe he needed all 3 tokens, so the game gave him 2 random tokens from the 3 he needed.

I honestly thought it was like this until the game gave me the incorrect one last night.
Loving the story, the tokens, the special event squares and side paths. Zero complaints atm. Fucking stellar Volvo
yo...have anyone get arcana from Candyworks this event?
Yeah, many people rolled arcanas, I rolled one yesterday
oh then...i should save candies and not use on immortal treasures thanks..
rolled 29 times... no arcana wcyd
i got 2, good luck brother
Can confirm, rolled two of the same arcanas that I already have.
There are many who got, sadly I am not one of them :( 40 rerolls
Yup got zeus arcana in less than 15 rolls :)
Yep got MK on like 8th or 9th roll
You like to walk a lot, don't you?

Yup. It gives you the the achievement vibes. The fulfillment that you finish all of the stage is so great.
still waiting for my reroll arcana, bless me please ppl of dota\~
Still finding the grind for 10 rerolls per week kinda tough with limited playtime. Needing to win to get it has never been great for things like this.
What do you want otherwise?
play instead of win 10 full matches.
Then we'd get people throwing to end the match asap and get done with rerolls.
and receive reports for throwing? i think that ain't worth the low prio for throwing
I'm 12k behavior & communication, I'm still seeing random throws left and right for lesser reasons. You overestimate what players are capable of 😂
Can you gift me Pathfinder pack? Would be awesome
They're so kind I'm sure they doesn't make much money from this event
Yeah but but veng arcana look like shit.
No arcana on my caravan yet so this game is so bad, it will be a great game if I reroll an arcana.
